It's less than a week out. I did a bit of scouting on seats.
The fancy imax theater in my city is mostly booked out of all the good seats opening weekend on imax and 70mm. Front row is still very open and there's openings in the edges. Lots of openings noon and 4pm.
What is surprising is that every other theater is very open. The less popular theater near me has almost no seats booked for any time. Theres a cheap theater near me with nice seats low seat count that is usually full. Every showing is still wide open. It usually takes a few weeks before I can watch popular movies from a good seat in a theater that isn't crowded.
The activity so far doesn't indicate a billion dollar movie. It seems like it might follow some recent trends where it will open high due to fans pre booking premium showings, but fizzle out since there's not enough interest from the general audience.
