‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’ Prequel Series Casts Jodie Turner-Smith
Jodie Turner-Smith is joining the “Witcher” universe.
The “Queen & Slim” star has been cast in a lead role in Netflix’s prequel series “The Witcher: Blood Origin.”
The six-episode limited series will take place 1,200 years before the events of “The Witcher,” starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, and show the backstory of the elven civilization before its fall. “Blood Origin” will tell a story lost to time — the creation of the very first Witcher and the events that lead to the pivotal “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged to become one.
Turner-Smith will play a warrior named Éile, who was blessed with the voice of a goddess and leaves her clan and role as the queen’s guardian to follow her heart and embark on a journey as a nomadic musician. A grand reckoning on the continent forces her to return to the way of the blade in her quest for vengeance and redemption.
Declan de Barra, a writer on Season 1 of “The Witcher,” will act as executive producer and showrunner. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will act as executive producer; she is executive producer and showrunner on Seasons 1 and 2 of “The Witcher.”

‘The Witcher’ Renewed For Season 3 By Netflix, Franchise Expands With Another Anime Film & Family Series
I thought this was a joke my friend was telling me. Nope. They want to make a Kids & Family series about the Witcher. I guess Andrzej Sapowski really needs more vodka because this is really milkin' it now.
Netflix has handed an early renewal to the widely popular series The Witcher, greenlighting Season 3 months before Season 2 drops in December.
The streamer unveiled a slew of The Witcher news at its virtual fan event Tudum on Saturday. The Witcher, which was one of Netflix’s most popular shows of 2019, stars Henry Cavill as the grim Geralt of Rivia, the bane of supernatural beasties, in a story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.
Set to debut on December 17, The Witcher Season 2 will follow Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia who, convinced that Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) died at the gruesome Battle of Sodden, seeks to bring Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, Geralt must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.
The Witcher is and executive produced by Schmidt Hissrich. Tomek Baginski, Jason F. Brown, Sean Daniel, Mike Ostrowski, Steve Gaub and Jarosław Sawko also executive produce.
In addition to unveiling the series’ Season 3 renewal, Netflx’s Tudum shared clips for The Witcher Season 2.
Additionally, Netflix will dive even deeper into world of The Witcher, expanding the franchise with a kids and family series and a second anime feature film.
The upcoming anime film, which remains untitled, is the second anime film in the The Witcher franchise at Netflix. Earlier this year, Netflix dropped The Witcher: Nightmare of The Wolf, which followed the exploits of Geralt’s mentor and predecessor Vessemir.
The Witcher goodness continued at Tudum as the creative team of The Witcher: Blood Origin also brought behind-the-scenes footage to the virtual event.

I've been hearing mixed reviews. And by mixed I mean all the Polish people I talk to absolutely despise it. Had some book fans tell me it's 0/10 - 1/10. One guy stopped in episode 2 because he said it was that unbearable, and another said he had to keep pausing it because he couldn't believe it got worse than Season 1.
But others (mostly Germans, interestingly) were saying they loved it, it's so great, they love the books too and Season 2 is beyond their dreams. So good, 10/10. Anyone who mentioned it disappointed them, they were quick to inject how much they loved the new season to the point that I wondered if they were getting paid for their shilling.
I trust my instincts and can guess it's probably the 1/10 trashfire it's always been, but now with more Fujoshi bait.
I might watch it on a day that I want to torture myself, but I also have better things to do with my time than see cringe fanfiction filmed.

I'm about four episodes into the new season and... it's fine. It's not great by any means but if you just accept it for what it is it's a fun little romp of fiction. Henry continues to kill it as Geralt.

I'm going to guess at least that they aren't going to kill off nearly as many potential Witchers as the trial of the grasses usually kills.
Besides it looking just generally terrible. Guess we have to deal with ever more fuck tons of Blacks and Asians appearing from random holes in the ground in a setting that was originally explicitly and non-negotiably populated with nothing but white people.
