How do you think they will butcher the creation of the Witchers?

If the couple internet articles jerking off this new prequel is anything to go off of, pretty badly. The ones who created the Witcher mutations were pretty eccentric mages - Alzur, Cosimo Malaspina, and Idarran of Ulivo. With Alzur being noted especially for his "voice and diction which were positively mellifluous". I can't imagine he'll be portrayed well. Any of them, actually.

Never read the books so take these points with a grain of salt I guess. This season was weird, it didn't help that the only one who actually managed to accomplish their goal was a cgi mass of dust and maybe Yennefer with getting her powers back. It would have been awkward if this didn't get renewed since most of this was just setup and things going from bad to worse.
The first few episodes felt very strong but after that in started t meander. That one part with the harbormaster being a blatant stand in for people who complained about the structure of the first season was very cringy. The themes about parenting was also handled with the subtlety of a brick to the face: on one hand you have Geralt and Co. with the power of belief, and love, and friendship who can banish demons and hug afterwards and on the other you got the elves and Nilfgaard who are literal baby murderers. Also the Wild Hunt doesn't really look very threatening when it's just half a dozen guys.

The only people that seem to be enjoying this show from my social media feeds are people who have absolutely zero knowledge about the Witcher from either the games or the books. Basically consoomers who are just wanting to get "in" on what they think the next popular thing is.

I just finished the second season, and the worst thing is that the show is just completely fucking boring. I could overlook all the stupid writing and deviations if the show was just fun, but it's not. The first episode was fun, but the rest of the season was a slog and I felt the same bout the first season too. They can't write exciting political intrigue worth a shit. They want to be Game of Thrones when they really just needed to be an X-Files and focus on monsters of the week with a bit of pushing Ciri along her path. I give absolutely zero fucks about the mages.

holy shit triss is so fucking ugly. I still can't get over how shit the casts are.
Nah, they're alright. Except for Yennefer, who's too bland for a supernaturally beautiful mage (but I think she does an ok job acting-wise). Geralt, Ciri and Jaskier are all great, and Triss is fine.

Someone told me that someone high up did an interview and claimed they killed off Eskel because if they brought in someone else everyone would know right away that they would die, and it was more powerful making it someone they'd care about/not see coming.

Even though they also literally introduced them in this episode, thus nobody except hardcore fans would know who the fuck they were and get pissed off.

What the fuck are these people smoking lmfao

Also a woman I used to work with who claims to be a massive Witcher fan asked me if I could believe the "twist" at the end of Season 2. I thought she was joking, but I forgot being a massive fan these days means knowing jack shit about what you're a fan of and just blindly consooming.

Edit: Something else I was wondering. Was the dock worker guy a voice in Witcher 3? He sounded super familiar. I wanted to say Dijkstra but I'm not sure.

Being a female 'massive fan' of Netflix shows usually means fujoshi. Or wine mom.

It's Alastair Parker, who did Cleaver's voice.

Binged it over the weekend. Honestly feels like a half season, with the twist reveal at the end feeling for all the world like a mid-season climax to kick things into gear for the second half. Instead it just ends the minute it feels like the story has finally picked a direction.

The problem is that outside of the first episode, this whole season is just "the Ciri show." You still have the multiple intertwining plot threads, but every single one of them revolves around her, meaning there's very little in the way of monster hunting and very much in the way of fucking around with this or that nefarious actor's plans for her.

Cast is still solid and the effects are still pretty good, but this feels like a sharp downgrade from the first season, and not just because the end of that season locked them into telling a more straightforward story going forward.

All of this is because of Anglo menace. You nigger obsessed faggots are going to destroy everything. All of the problems of modern world is direct result of mutts and bongs hatred againts every other living being. I hate you so much you wouldnt believe. Everything in path of anglosaxons menace gonna be cucked and niggered.

That part where Triss was like "fuck me Geralt" and he was like "no" was the part of season 2 I identified with the most.

You can almost visualize the stink lines.

Yeah the mages plot is dumb. The one guys speech while he conjured a dancing lady made of fire was fucking dumb as hell. They're all mages, they know what magic looks like. You don't need a stupid dancing firewoman spell to underscore your point that Yennefer roasted thousands. It's not illustrative, it's like putting on an EDM music video in a courtroom. And as the audience, if you just listen to the words spoken it's an empty scene with shit writing, saved only by special effects and that old man mage's acting ability. And why are there old men mages. I thought the enchantments lasted for life. Did he choose the old fart set or what.

In fairness; if the job of a mage is to manipulate the leaders of various court; it may be advantageous for a man to appear as the wise old leader type; as much as it is an advantage for the women to all look like hot temptresses. It's still dumb as fuck, but you could maybe justify it.
