In a bizarre case of pandering to a political side gone wrong, the NXonNetflix Twitter account decided to promote the latest season of the angry metal red panda Aggretsuko anime with an anti-capitalist message that quickly fell on deaf ears.

The Twitter account’s strange initial post that started it all:

Shortly after using the anime to take a shot against capitalism, the person running Netflix’s account went into damage control and started giving context for that particular scene in the anime, which made their whole point appear even weaker:

Fans of Aggretsuko and anyone with any glimmer of common sense quickly rallied against Netflix’s social media post, explaining that a successful corporation thriving in a capitalistic environment shouldn’t really come out against it:

Surely they won't mind if we pirate their shit then, at least what's worth pirating anyways.

"Polar" is actually bretty gud movie, check it out. Somehow it slipped through their alphabet radar.

imagine depending on capitalism and biting the hand that feeds you, thinking money comes from nowhere.
literally dumber than dogs.

I read these words, but it seems like many are missing.

TL;DR - Wut?

Are Japanese companies not aware this lunatics are using their IPs to promote their own political propaganda? I'm pretty sure Sanrio wouldn't be amused.
This is the sort of promotion that really doesn't make me wanna watch it, or even suggest it to anyone else.

Maybe the show has just this one gag but they ran it into the ground exposing it that way.

Never watch any weeabo shit dubbed, not only because it sounds awkward but because it's starting to become a thing to flip the original script for "progressive" points.

That show itself is pretty good tho, surprisingly mature coming from the creators of Hello Kitty.
