I can't help but feel that some of this is being done on purpose as a joke.

As in, some normal people who liked the franchise ended up working on the show and were pumped as fuck about it until they saw the direction it was going so they snuck in a bunch of bizarre shit to get lulz on twitter or 4chan or whatever.

Either that or everyone involved is so poisoned by SJW shit that they genuinely don't see how outlandish fucking wacky their "vision" is.
Having seen all of it, it does feel purposeful. References to the games kept getting mentioned and several creatures get included, so they know the source material. There's the lickers, a giant spider, a giant alligator, the worm boss. It's so bizarre because the knowledge is there and effort has been put into every point of the show. It just feels like a 14 year old's fanfic from Wattpad.

Deciding that the end of the world would happen thanks to the combined efforts of:

- A dyke who's only qualification to be at the head of Umbrella is that she's daddy's girl
- An awkward non-binary vegan who doesn't realize the consequences of breaking into a lab
- A drug-addicted nigger who lies to cover up his fuck-ups and tells his daughters not to snitch

I'll give them this, it's a lot more based than I thought it would be

The show feels like a fucking fever dream.
- Black wesker, already a kek moment
- They put the T-virus in anti-depressant pills. Lol.
- Black Wesker isn't actually wesker, he's a clone of black wesker (who dresses like Blade). There are two other clones. That seem to be named 'Al' 'Bert' and 'Albert'
- The actual outbreak is never shown. The cause of the outbreak seems to be completely unknown. Because you need to take 20'000 T-virus pills to become a zombie. I think they show at one point a rat? Can't really recall.
- Zombies can be fooled by spraying a light coating of perfume onto your skin, because they track by scent. A woman survived for six months by doing this. And was completely calm next to a horde of near a hundred of zombies.
- There are so many niggers. Unironically, so many fucking niggers. I can't actually remember a single white character in the entire show, that lasts longer than an episode.
- Racoon City happened in the past, and was flattened by a nuclear bomb by Umbrella. They apparently covered this up. How? Who fucking knows
- Albert Wesker is a family man, and a large part of the plot concerns his domestic troubles with his own family, their troubles at school, boy troubles they have, trust issues they have with Wesker.
- What seems to be William Birkin post G-virus infection is casually just vibing in a jar in the Umbrella labs. Not sure how they got him in there, if Racoon City happened in the past. Because he would either be nuclear ash, or much, much, much bigger than he is in the show.
- The 'good' guys keep a T-virus infected mutant saltwater crocodile kaiju sedated and dragged behind their fishing ship. This is supposed to be used as a weapon against an enemy. But since the croc can only be woken up, and not controlled any further than that, it strikes me as a completely retarded idea.

The show jumps between the past in New Racoon City; and the future post outbreak world. The post outbreak world makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

It really is amazing that Resident Evil is the one franchise to consistently have the worst live action adaptations, it really needed a series after so many bad movies.

Watched it, hated it.

Perhaps if they had just not named Kang-Nigger-NPC-#1 "Albert Wesker" it would be tolerable. They could simply have changed the name before the series was released, and improved the viability of this series by at least 50%. It was a simple detail that overshadowed everything else.

No one ever:
Everyone at Netflix:
"How can we add even more niggers?"

That was even worse than Resident Evil Infinite Darkness which still only got one season, I want 6 hours of my life back.
This is why Netflix is going under.

I'm guessing the show was greenlit in the hopes it would be "Netflix's Walking Dead" but at some point during production the writing must have been on the wall that it wasn't going to last so the writers decided to troll us with lines talking about Zootopia porn.

My thought process for why the weird sex shit is in the show is as follows.

  1. It has been expressly leaked that to get anything made in modern western mainstream video media it effectively needs to be a reboot, sequel, or adaptation. So the weird incongruous shit in a script maybe a biproduct of that grafting process.
  2. Not sure how long back it goes but there has been a trend of referencing more mundane everyday things to be quirky and more relatable to the audience. Which in and of itself I don't mind as it can make conversations feel more organic and connect to the view. That being said it feels like its trying to relate to a the some coomer check mark audience bubble the writers are clearly in.

2: I'd put the blame on Joss Whedon and Marvel quips for that one

I'm about halfway through the second episode. Just saw a zombie tear off his right hand to get out of a pair of handcuffs (he cuffed himself to a bar pre-zombification), then attack a woman 4 seconds later... and he had his right hand for the rest of the scene. Truly awe-inspiring stuff.

It's real generic. Has no connection to Resident Evil except it seems like the creator watched the first movie and uses some character names, Umbrella is also the big baddie. Cribs a lot from better projects, like 28 Days Later. I'm hate-watching it all until I can't take it anymore. Help me.

PFFFFFFFFFFFFT

Aside from the blackwashing, that's actually probably the most game-accurate thing about this show:

It's based on Wesker's "new look", which debuted in RE5. I've seen it used a couple other places, like Teppen and MVC3. Considering the show (apparently?) takes place after Raccoon City was nuked, which happened at the end of RE3, it seems to take place in some alternate timeline between 3 and 5. So I guess it tracks that Wesker started doing Blade cosplay during that period.

They did the same thing in that god-awful Catwoman movie. Despite being called CATWOMAN and being released under the DC imprint with $100 million to back it, it had nothing to do with Batman, was’t set in Gotham, even the fucking main character isn’t even Selina Kyle, it’s Phillips or some shit like that.
The Catwoman movie is straight up an 80's La Bionda arc. The plot and evil cosmetics macguffin is the same, the villain is the same and Catwoman now dresses exactly like La Bionda but with cat ears. Why they would do this I can not figure out, why ripoff a shitty and obscure european culture comic when there's so much catwoman material already?

“Time for the remix…”

Gotta disagree with Charlie on this one. I think it IS one of the worst shows ever made, even if you completely take it on its own merits and not as an adaptation of Resident Evil it's a fucking awful show on every level. The dialogue is all so "How do you do fellow tiktokers?" when it isnt the completely insane meme moments talking about 4chan and zootopia porn. There isnt a single character who is likable, almost every character is actually annoying. None of the action is good, it never really feels like horror, or action or anything really, it's just sludge
