Children are afraid of completely irrational things at that age and for the stupidest of reasons. I was afraid of Lego Sharks at that age. Have you even seen how a kid that age reacts to a plate of food where all the different foods are touching? The most likely scenario is that he said that because he had no experience whatsoever and he's never seen one in person before, but sure, you browbeat that five-year-old and turn his life into the equivalent of a minimum-security prison. It won't fucking teach him to resent you and every position you hold dear at all.
