Huh, the only version I've heard up till now was by The Original Caste. Definitely prefer it over the Coven version.

Literally the first ones that come to my mind are the first two X-Men movies.
Hugh Jackman is great in them ... But they are movies that I used to love, and now I find them rough to get through these days. A couple of years back, I tried to re-watch X2, and I just couldn't finish it for the life of me. lol.
I'm glad that Hugh Jackman got a proper sendoff with Logan. He finally became the Wolverine that X-Men fans wanted to see.

I never liked the X-Men movies aside from Days of Future Past, Logan and the 2 Deadpool films.

I still love the first two X-Men movies. Especially 2.
A movie I don't think aged well at all is Halloween H20. It's such a post-Scream, late 90's horror movie in the worst way. It also has the least intimidating Michael Myers ever seen.
Then Halloween 2018 came along it did a lot of similar things, but so much better.

But did Bryan Singer's pedo nature sully your beloved nostalgia over your super hero movies? When you re-watch those movies by Bryan Pedophile Singer do you try to repress the knowledge in the back of your mind that "Yeah, Singer probably fucked those little boy extras in that scene. Oh, that fat guy is probably in his pedo group where they raped little boys in hot tubs." Do you repress such knowledge?

I mean, Bryan Singer doesn't help of course ... But I started to turn sour on the OG X-Men trilogy by the early 2010s (before Singer's actions became public knowledge).
Days of Future Past is still a good movie, though ...

I haven't rewatched this learning this, however, Leon is now unwatchable to me now with whats came out about Luc Besson and reading how the actora had to fight to tone down the shit that was in the script originally.

A long time ago, I was channel surfing with two girls I know, and I decided to show them The World is Not Enough. Oof. You know that sinking feeling when you realize your friends don't dig your interests?
And I don't blame them, really. That movie is janky AF. Moreso than I remembered.

I wacthed Labyrinth for the first time in 35 years, and it really is not very good. The creature designs, but the movie doesn't make a lot of sense. I watched with a six-year-old, and he was asking me to explain things, and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Overall, the movie was not nearly as the Dark Crystal.

Anastasia feels like the better animated, more coherent cousin of Titanic the animated movie. I honestly don't know why it doesn't get more crap, given that it does the same thing of turning a very tragic event kiddie friendly.

Guess because it has some good tunes well one maybe two good songs but I agree it's not a good movie. I don't think any studio has ever been able to mimic the Disney princess movies successfully, I mean would say Anastasia is the most successful of them.

Goonies is iconic but not a very good movie... for adults. It works for kids. I'm not sure why.

That or you have to be exposed to it at the right point in your life. I first watched The Goonies as a kid, and I enjoy it greatly.
Not that I don't get the "be there" argument. There's plenty of stuff I'm told is revolutionary and awesome, but when I actually watch it, I come out underwhelmed. Take Parasyte. The manga influenced so many other body horror manga that by the time I watched the anime, not of that mattered to me, and I just ended up aggravated by its characterization deficiencies, pretentious themes, and anti-climactic storytelling.

The Tim Burton Batman movies. I thought the first one was fantastic when I saw it as a kid. I loved the sets, the aesthetic and in particular I loved the way the script contrasted Bruce Wayne and Jack Napier. Little details about how they both make the same comment of "lots of space" when they enter Vicki Vale's apartment for the first time. But tried watching when older and never even finished it. It had lost all its magic for me and I'm not sure why. The second one also tarnished. I no longer like the Tim Burton aesthetic and whilst I thought Michelle Pfeiffer in it was hot when I was a teenager she does nothing for me in the role, now. I also watched it with a girl who had a birth defect. I'm not much of a one for the current fetish for avoiding offense at all costs, but sitting there with her while Danny Devito keeps rambling on about "born a little different to the rest" was deeply uncomfortable.
In general, most of the films I liked as a kid no longer have much appeal for me, except perhaps The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. That remains a masterpiece.

Oh come on, I think the 89 Batman holds up well. Batman Returns is much harder to defend so I give you some leeway with that one.

Eh, maybe there's an element of jadedness in it. The lockdowns in my country pushed me into a pretty deep depression that I still haven't shaken off. They were basically life-altering for me for reasons I wont PL about. But I pulled that movie down and honestly, felt pretty much nothing watching it. All I could recognize were the moments I used to find cool and fun. I turned it off before the end. Honestly, I've felt that about a lot of things since lockdown but it's most obvious with things you used to really like.
