You can't see it from most stock images, but her Thronecoming earrings are shaped like wings, and they give an elf-ear silhouette.

I was looking to see if Cupid had an unmade Legacy Day dress, and saw Kitty Cheshire, my unbothered queen...


Going from left to right:
They made Blondie, but they didn't make Ashlynn (redhead on the left), Kitty (middle-most right), or Cedar (right of Kitty).......
and they made Cerise, but her doll doesn't look like the cartoon, and they made Madelyn Hatter. I'm not counting the boys in this, because...well, sorry boys. Daring and Dextor both got a few dolls (with Daring's even revealing he's the Beast, from Beauty and the Beast), but Hopper didn't get shit.
but seeing Kitty and the gorgeous dry brush details on Cupid's Thronecoming wings.......
I wish we could've gotten more sets like Spring Unsprung ....

they're just so beautiful, and even the packaging!! it's book-themed!!!!!

I wouldn’t use acetone regardless for customizing dolls because it warps and breaks down the plastic. 90% Isopropyl Alcohol or Non-Ace Nailpolish Remover works so much better imo. Less toxic, irritating fumes as well.

Wait, really? Those ones were your breaking point? Those were forever ago and probably in her peak (not that she's dipped in quality but she got insane with the doll anatomy during that dragon series specifically.) At least she was up front that Aquarien was "gender neutral" or w/e, and that Juwon was made for Pride Month. I'm most annoyed by these ones:

The palms make me angrier on principle, but the fucking wheelchair one is so infuriating. Not because of the wheelchair, I've got a vintage Barbie with a wheelchair, but she buries the fucking lede until the very end of the video where it's like "oh surprise she has a tiny wheelchair! she's been a cripple this whole time!" like we were somehow supposed to fucking know or assume that. And she barely mentioned how she MADE the damn chair. She goes into detail every time she makes the same type of fucking doll purse out of cardboard and ribbon, but oops, let's just make A GIANT FUCKING WHEELCHAIR off-screen and wheel it in at the last second!! lol now go watch my "how to make a wheelchair for dolls" video!!!

...why do I have the feeling I'm the only one here who'd shrink my EAH doll heads in acetone to make them smaller/fit in more with the Monster High doll size/aesthetic? (...I was a weird artsy kid!)

*I'll go through my storage when I have the time and see if I can find a few examples. I shrunk Thronecoming Raven and she turned out really amazing.

As a Monster High fan who never really liked the EAH doll's overly round faces, shrinking the doll heads in acetone actually did add and "oomph" to their face molds.

Monster High was my all-time favourite line of dolls when I was a kid (gen 1 only, the other 2 gens are non-existent to me). At the time, they were so popular that my mum and dad struggled to find the dolls I wanted in the stores. But now, the only people that seem to be buying them are adult collectors, doll customisers or genderspecials.

I still have the og dolls because the quality of them were just too good to be true.

Late, but I was always far more annoyed by the whole wendigo doll situation. Dollightful makes a beautiful horror doll, it blows up her channel, and years later she takes it down for being "culturally insensitive". If I remember correctly she took down all of the videos that featured that doll afterwards as well.

Yeah, she didn't do any research for her wendigo. But if that is a reason to demonize a doll, then she should've taken down the banshee video too. She portrayed a mythical creature from another culture just as poorly with the banshee, if not moreso. Although distateful, it's not a sin to create art based on the pop-culture idea of something.

"But it's taboo to even mention the word wendigo!" Sure. In my opinion, it's like breaking a mirror. If you believe that broken glass will cause spiritual damage, go bury it under an oak tree and pray about it. If you don't, then go on with your day. Again with the banshee comparison, Dollightful obviously doesn't believe in banshee (or wendigos for that matter). I'm not going to fault her for misrepresenting a culture she doesn't participate in because I understand most people don't understand it.

I will bitch about the wendigo doll thing though, because deleting that doll's existence and groveling about it but not other dolls just shows that in certain people's minds some cultures are worth more points than others.

Uhh, threadtax(?), my favourite Monster High doll was Astronova. I was always more of a fan of Novi Stars dolls, so Astronova fit more with those girls in my collection. She was like their mother goddess or something. Once bought a massive box of knockoff Novi Stars heads just to put them on MH bodies. Still going through that box 8 years later.

as an actual native american, it's really only the 1/200th cherokee hippies that get mad at that shit. like, nigga, wendigos aren't fucking real. we're lucky to get any sort of representation and it was a fucking cool doll. novi stars were also awesome, sad i never got my hands on one

I remember that Astranova's playset had a special gimmick where you can actually get her to float with a magnet, and that's kinda sick.
