In response to the second part of your comment, has Ilia ever fought a brawler with a chin so far? 🤔 Holloway will brawl from time to time, but he's more technically minded.. i think maybe the more technical fighters are more cautious which gives Ilia time to tee off on his boxing combos, whilst a brawler like Gaycheese will just constantly press you with bombs and unorthodox strikes... maybe Ilia just had no experience or idea on how to deal with that.

They are good wins, but I dont think theyre as good as;
Volk with 3 over Max, if you dont count the first fight then his fights vs Diego as the oldest Featherweight champion ever.
Islam has 2 wins over Volk, if the first one was too close then he has Arman and JDM. JDM did age poorly.
Ilia has three knockouts against all time greats back to back.
 
Year of the fucking upsets I guess, watch coked up McGregor somehow flatline Max next. Wonder if Topturo will keep following the Conor blueprint and come back with a vengeance after losing to a can like Conor did after losing to Nate Diaz.

Ali Bagov was one of the best lightweights in Russia in his time, Eldar Eldarov was a Brave CF champion and only lost to Khabib in his career, and Shamhalaev won a Bellator G&P. Obviously, they not have a top-five UFC level but are not cans

That's why I'm saying. The cans he fought back in 2011 was bad (for his defense, he did fight 7 times back in the year). But most of his wins did age well.

This is the record of Ali Bagov, if this guy counts as a win then you can count Aldo for Volk too. Probably twice as good of a win in all honesty.
Khabib was very good for his time but he has been surpassed since then.
Can we atleast settle on Islam being better? Besides his KO loss to pantoja ofcourse.

He is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest man in MMA, even if you are not a Muslim.
Cultivated multiple champs, leading the poor backwater mountain boys to a path of success and preventing them from being terrorists. The only ones who hate him are butthurt fanboys like MMAGuru because their favorite fighters lost to the dagis.
