It's less disdain for my fellow man and more general disregard, at least for me.

"I save lives!" That's cool, I guess.
"I behead people because I think it's righteous!" Do what'chu gotta do, just leave me out of it.

Doesn't really matter what somebody does, unless it involves me, it might as well not exist. You can wage wars, make peace. It's someone else's thing, not mine.

No. Being a misanthrope would mean caring too much about other people's problems which I have no control over. If someone is dumb the best thing to do is not let it bother you and get to you, since that eats up your cognitive energy and doesn't have much effect on them. If you're committed to stupidity someone yelling at you is wasting their breath.

Everybody on the planet is racist. No exceptions.

It is the people who deny it the most who are the ones that can’t be trusted.

Being a misanthrope is not the solution, but to have an appreciation for mankind, one has to accept that the perfect idealized human does not exist, no matter how hard some people may try to sell that image.

I don't take most self-identified misanthropes seriously bc they're usually arrogant pricks who don't also hate themselves. By their own logic they should, since aren't they also stupid shitty homo sapiens? Like come off it dude, you aren't the chosen one and there are thousands of shaved apes on this gay earth just like you.

My name is not important. What is important is what I'm going to do. I just fuckin' hate this world. And the human worms feasting on its corpse. My whole life is just cold, bitter hatred. And I always wanted to die violently. This is the time of vengeance and no life is worth saving. And I will put in the grave as many as I can. It's time for me to kill. And it's time for me to die. My genocide crusade begins here.
This, but unironically.

I have the belief that at our core the human race collectively are all a bunch of psychotic hairless primates with delusions of grandeur. And that's a good thing!

I'll never understand the way quite a few self proclaimed misanthropes will criticize human morality systems and then turn around and use the scope of those same moral strictures to criticize the human race as a whole. You don't get to have the cake and eat it too asshole.

I dislike the majority of people for how different they are from me. That's the inverse of how I thought of things when I was a teenager, liking the majority of people for how different they are from me.

Of course at some level this means I dislike myself for being so different, but I prefer to externalise this and lay the blame at other's feet. It's healthier for the mind.

I used to feel guilty about this, until I realised that it's the same for many other people. When people complain about others being wrong or annoying, it often is just drama deriving from difference. Like two persons going on vacation together and one wanting to laze about and the other seeing as many attractions as possible. Or two people in a relationships with different sex drives (aka every relationship).

The human brain is just the same as any other animal.

It operates on the same rules, just not on the same level. The human's only unique skill in the grand scope of things is our ability to have abstract thought on a level higher than other animals.

That's what I choose to remind myself whenever I see large groups of people doing stupid shit. It doesn't matter.

Misanthropy stems from self hatred, it's an attempt to project one's own insecurities onto the world to divorce the problem from oneself.

It’s true that there are people who are stupid, selfish and hateful. But on the other hand, you’ve got people probing the mysteries of the universe, creating works of stunning beauty and dedicating their lives to making the world better. Humanity is too complex to summarise as “good” or “bad.”

Where’s Patrick Stewart when you need him?
