Sometimes we feel that people can be pretty dumb.

Aside from the "humanity was a mistake" jokes, do we actually hate humanity as a whole?

I don't. I refuse to believe Andrew Dobson etc should the representative of humanity we put forth when we make first contact.

Everyone's shit except the few people who aren't, and you have to keep an eye on them, too.

Sometimes I’ll think I’ve hit that point, then realize that since my feelings of disgust are usually the result of how at least one human has wronged at least one other human, I clearly still care about at least one human in the scenario.

My name is not important. What is important is what I'm going to do. I just fuckin' hate this world. And the human worms feasting on its corpse. My whole life is just cold, bitter hatred. And I always wanted to die violently. This is the time of vengeance and no life is worth saving. And I will put in the grave as many as I can. It's time for me to kill. And it's time for me to die. My genocide crusade begins here.

Everyone is pretty shitty so I don't feel like I have the moral authority to say I hate humanity; I'm also not in middle school anymore

I'm remembering my edgelord teenage years now. Those were not fun times. <shudder>
In all seriousness, I don't think we hate people inasmuch as we hate what people do. We just take what people do to us and extrapolate that behavior to the person as a whole, i.e. "That person acted like an asshole to me, therefore they must be an asshole all the time."
Unfortunately, as this forum proves, "What you see is what you get" is true for a lot of people.

At this stage in the game we call life. I actually only trust and like 2 people. I don't even get along with family and stopped trying to. I don't ever care to meet new people...irl 2 is enough.

I like my fellow farmers though. You guys are great.

I don't hate us. It comes off like that, but it's mostly pity mixed with vague disgust/exasperation.
I love us, the way you love a hyper shelter dog that keeps ruining everything in your house. He can't help it. He means well. He's got love in his heart.

That's most of us. We're just fucking sped, and we can't change it.

I'm walking away from Omelas, that's all. Ideally that won't be seen as controversial in time.

We've done some great things as a species, and we'll continue to do great things. A lot of the awful qualities we have are what drive us to be better. I'll keep faith.

I am not a misanthrope, but I would not complain if God melts down a nuclear power plant in the USA. I have no idea how we can regress the neo-Sodomite policies that we have adopted, so I believe we will be chastised.
Neo-sodomites? So who were the old sodomites, and how and when did sodomy change?

I fucking hate humans because they're so mean to humans, who I love.

That's sort of the average person's seeming take.

Personally, I'm a human(at least I'm programmed to think I am), so I don't hate humans, as that would include myself, and I'm not into that whole self hate business. I think the mentality "humans suck" is convenient for people who would degrade other people, it's just another way to foster apathy.

I see mr. numbers would like to see large numbers of humanity die because we fucked up the all powerful ultra being's plans (somehow). That's the kind of dumb shit I am talking about.

Anyone with a brain should be a misanthrope on some level. There's no getting around the fact humans do tons of stupid destructive shit for dumbass reasons.

That said, real big brains don't use that as excuse for apathetic malaise. Albert Einstein was gravely distressed by the Holocaust and the atomic bomb, but he was still able to be a good-natured person.
