Stuck on mana-drainy moon-man with a mid team. Breezed till the boss. Counters my every tactic and is impossible. Store good abilities and line up the hands and try to make a good combo? He drains all my mana! Burst him? Man in the moon is immune to anything unless you fight him the way it's intended. I think Mana Drain Man in the Moon is genuinely unbeatable and I'm considering abandoning. I'm 10 resets in at this point.

I hate act 2 bosses. They're all gimmick that need a specific team to be beaten.

Absorbent is the worst champion modifier ever and Man in the moon is just tedium incarnate making it even worse, my strategy for the boss in general is always have a tanky cat that regenerates at minimun 10 mana pet turn so i cast "stop hitting yourself" and dont have to deal with lining up the hands and the other cats just focus on raping him, best if you can stack a lot of thorns on the cat thats gonna be vored. The other is bring some form of bruise and just completely cuck him out of his gimmick or bring a lot of DoT and wait until he dies of 500 poison.

tbh more abilities counter him (Like scattershot and DoT abilities) and I also think that absorbent moon man is not that annoying compared to other bosses (like marshmallow or Dybukk etc.)

This games fun comes from adapting to certain situations in the best way possible but I agree with your take sometimes the game seriously fucks with you by giving you an undodgeable situation and you lose and you are right for complaining about the moon man.
 
Bosses are silly to complain about because they all have a handful of counters that are easy to just bring with you. Hell, a good hunter or fighter alone trivializes 99% of encounters. If you get to the end of desrt and don't have a moon man counter then just, idk, go to the core instead?

If my fighter gets crippled in Lab then I just don't take the future path; if I don't have an answer to Dybbuk by the end of the alley then I go caves. The game gives you two paths for a reason.

The only point of complaint I have is when a base act requires one build but a follow up path requires another which can make it really annoying to build for, but A3b is really the only example of that.
 
The sheer amount of seething generates by internet personalities meowing into a microphone has got to be one of the best things about this game. I for one hope he gets even more controversial people that continues to piss everyone off and make them pearl clutch because the big meanie lolcow is making cat sounds.

Idk fam I never got filtered by Dybukk or Marshmallow; just send your cleric/druid/psychic on front/to land the last hit.

I never struggled with these particular 2 bosses.

Dybbuk is hard countered by:
  • Any amount of AoE
  • Any kind of trap
  • Any kind of hazard
  • Grapple
  • Any item that inflict immobility
  • Having a roided out cat and just not letting them kill him
  • Bringing familiars
  • Friendly fire
  • Using a necromancer who can down themselves
  • Just letting a cat die on purpose
  • High movement speed to trap him
  • Druids
  • Having more than one good DPS
  • Any ability that can spawn impassable objects
  • A cleric
  • Self damaging abilities
  • Abilities that apply negative self statuses
  • Tinfoil hat
And if you don't have ANY of that as an option by the time you reach Boneyard then genuinely you just have a skill issue. Like cmon at that point that's not bad RNG that's just you not knowing what the fuck you're doing, just take bramble shot on your hunter or something.

If you know you're fighting a boss who needs a specific tools you should be actively fishing for that tool the entire run until you get it. Take bear traps over heavy shot, bring a necromancer instead of a monk, buy that bag of glass in the shop, SOMETHING. It's like people have never played a roguelite before.

Marshmallow hard counters most solo run cats o algo

I just hate dybukk because sometimes the game just doesn't give me any abilities to counter him

Dybbuk always gives me the funniest fights, my most recent one whent like this
>team of very overpowered cats
>clock mission hasnt been an issue so far
>get dibbuk to a sweet spot
>kill my weakest cat
>dibbuk posesses him
>forget that open wounds destroys bodies so my cat fucking explodes
>steven.gif cuz i dont want to lose that cat
>try again
>dibbuk posseses the cat
>somehow my butcher crits him so fucking hard the corpse explodes anyways
>try again
>dejavu was on the cat i was insisting on
>made sure i didnt had any body obliterating trinkets or disorders ( i had not)
>dybbuk decided to be hard this time and posesses my healer instead
>healer spams open wounds on the cat that i was using the previous tries and of course fucking obliterates him
>joker cry-laugh.wav
>butcher kills healer (without obliterating his body) and finish him
>go to the throbbing domain and kill and loot the King to feel better about myself
That cat was doomed to die i guess, i got the blood bucket at least...
