No one is born knowing how to handle a 12 Gauge shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot ammo. Well, maybe one or two people were born that way. We’re willing to bet Alexander the Great or Atilla the Hun would have figured out the trick pretty quickly. You, on the other hand, had better practice if you’re to be of any use.
This ammunition by Federal Premium could certainly “deal” with a home invader, or slap the senses out of a 12-pointer. It just lacks any premium features (e.g. granulated buffering, copper-plated shot, high-tech plastic wad), which is why it’s marketed for range use.
It’s still Federal quality, of course. Each round is loaded with nine pieces of lead double-aught, a brass-plated head for smooth extraction, a hull that won’t crack under normal pressure, and the powder it needs to launch ~1-1/8 ounces of shot to 1,325 fps muzzle velocity (3-1/2 dram equivalent).
