I bought an new MPX for like 2k with some button flip iron sights and really really like it. I didn't want to buy an MP5 because at the cost of it I wanted to pay off my car thats nearly paid off first. I've started collecting firearms after I finished paying off nearly all my debt and I just feel like I want the MP5 because of the cool factor.
So far shooting the MPX I fucking love it.
Some of my military friends and I went to a range with it and they all are mad because of how much they liked it and they yelled at me because i keep buying expensive nice guns that are out of their budget range.

MP5s are just way too expensive for some reason. The Zenith clones are barely $700 cheaper than the H&K ones (which can go for around $3k). Meanwhile PTR builds HK91 kits for what is effectively half the price. All the machining processes are about the same (to the point that you can modify a CETME/HK91 flat bending jig to fit the MP5). Maybe it's just a poor deterrent because even complete parts kits are $2k meanwhile HK91 complete parts kits are half that. I'd wonder if it's a rarity thing based around importation but we have domestic production in the US of A for the MP5 from HK and clones like Zenith and PTR. All this just to say: Yeah MP5s are unnecessarily expensive. Although the PTR clones are priced pretty well, at least on their site when I browsed it.
 
Not only are PTR's clones made on HK machinery with their blessing using original schematics the internals such as the bolt, trigger group, buffer and grip are actual HK it's just the barrel and receiver that are newly made.

I have shot the following: MPX with 4 & 8 in barrel both suppressed and unsuppressed, MP5A2, A3, K and SD.

The 8in MPX is the most controllable in full auto. Especially with the suppressor hanging off the end. The MP5SD with 147gr subsonics is surreal for lack of sound. Personally if I had to choose I’d take the B&T APC9K.

10.5 would be a bit short, I agree. But it would be fun to see how it worked. I'd just like one for the aesthetic. Out of all the carbine length barrels, 10.5-11 inch is what I consider the most halal.

On a side note, don't get me started on the M4. I don't like it. I just don't man. Either give me a 20 inch in 5.56, or a Vietnam special in 10.5 inch. 14.5 just feels like the worst of both. More length than 10.5, but less velocity than 20.

Back on this, other than a toy, I don't see why you'd use this over a J frame or the like. A J frame already fits in your pocket fine, and actually has a barrel, even if it's slightly less than 2 inches, it has one. 38 already has trouble expanding with that kind of barrel due to the low pressure, cutting it almost all off is madness.

that's dumb as anything other than a fun way to convert money into noise. unless you're a skinny jeans waring fag you can easily carry a 3 inch revolver in your pocket or conceal a service size revolver IWB. My Undercover has a 2 inch barrel and that leaves a lot of room to spare in my pocket (not that i ever put anything in there with it, thats tempting fate a little to much).

Personally, like you mentioned, I kind of want a full sized revolver to conceal, probably a Model 10. With the Model 10, it just has so much history behind it as one of the longest lasting 38 special combat revolvers of all time.

Honestly I think revolvers just suit my personality more than anything. Very classy, all metal (mostly, there's a few polymer ones out there), and highly reliable. Most of all, very strong in terms of the action. Want a .44 if I ever go hunting in Alaska or go on a moose hunt here in Utah some day.

This is an image of a Hoffman Tactical Super Safety, made in 4140 Steel, allegedly in China. If this information is true (I have no reason to believe that it is not true) then this represents a very interesting development. The HTSS is a very simple form of Forced Reset Trigger, the chinese have shown that they can very easily produce even more complex pieces such as glock switches. If these are introduced into criminal circles it would be a very interesting development as they under the law do not meet the definition of a machinegun and if any criminals are charged under such a statute it could lead to curious legal developments.
