For anyone familiar in LE or DOJ in relation to enforcing laws, when some investigators look at a company, do they do it selectively or go full throttle and look at al the products sold by a company.

Just saw this in the calguns thread @MrJokerRager. First time I've seen anything like that, figures it'd be from California. At least it's not as horrific or cucked as most options are there.

If the company that makes that grip, made it in full polymer with textures and no holes, it would probably be the best featureless grip that would put the Sparrow to shame. It is the best grip outside of the Thorsden Custom or Sparrow. Though when will some company have the will to go for a FG42 style angled grip would be something. The main criteria is if the webbing of the hand wraps around the top of the trigger and it seems like this one does. But the retarded and futile arguments over what is the CA DOJ is thinking is another story plus the doompilling by one dude in there.

I'd be tempted to fill in the holes with something like epoxy, or G10 carbon fiber. Or maybe even some pieces of dark or stained wood, along with a wood laminate stock & handguard.

I just pressed 2 dozen 7.7 jap. Speaking of, may I consult and bother the expert @Club Sandwich So I've read a lot on ww2 and apparently the Japs, had no problem stealing 303 brit and using them in type 99s, if you look at both rounds it's incredibly close on CPI etc.. Now I'm not starving and staring at a deer with just a 303 bullet or fighting the last wave of zombies etc, so I won't risk my nice 99 or mk4 with a 7.7

But was this OG fudd lore, what's your take? Also they chamber fine... yes I tried.
If I had a beater SMLE or 99 I'd try with a long string.

the 7.7x58mm Arisaka is rimless and has a nominal land to land bore of 0.312". the .303 British (7.7x56mm rimmed) is rimmed, with a nominal bore diameter of 0.311". now many Enfield rifles were closer to 0.3115" or 0.3117" to allow dirty ammunition to be used safely with minimal effort on the part of a soldier, but while the bullets are the same (or near enough to be the same) the cartridges themselves were not. the rimless Arisaka cannot be extracted and will fire-form in the Enfield, while the rimmed .303 British will not even chamber in a Type 99 Arisaka rifle - the rim on the .303 British will catch the feed ramp and prevent chambering.

what is true is that the Japanese-produced Type 89 (licensed Vickers MMG) and Type 92 machineguns used the Type 87 7.7x56mm rimmed cartridge (a semi-rimmed variation was also in use), a licensed copy of the Kynoch .303 British cartridge. and if you are into reloading, you can reload your 7.7mm Arisaka cases with .303 bullets safely (keeping in mind to use reasonable powder charges). it is easier to convert the Type 99 for more common rimless designs (8mm Mauser, .30-06 Springfield) than .303 British due to the rim.

someone might ask why the Japanese did this, and it's because they had the tooling and machinery to mass produce the ammunition and the Vickers already, however a more expedient rifle replacement for the Type 38 as required and by the time the Type 99 was in mass production, the Pacific War was well underway and most rifles were fairly rough in finish. a rimless cartridge was chosen probably to save costs on production of bullets (standardization) but to also allow expedient, simpler magazine/charger design for the rifle itself.

Funny enough, I was at wally world (walmart) and the ONLY ammo they had was 22 (marked up not too bad but still). Wal mart used to many years ago bulk buy off suppliers, and I could find some niche and or werido shit there, next to the 30-30 for our hunters or 12g... you'd find 300 BLK (when that was hot new and tactialcool only) or 375 H&H. Was always fun and I used to clean out any time they got 303.

Anyone know anyplace else that sells pre-pinned/welded 9mm AR barrels like this, that have more than 5in actual rifling? This one has 10in of rifling and I dig it for a 9mm upper build but these guys have been out of stock for a while.

I've found stuff like these from Odin Works (I may have seen something similar from Faxon), where they pin a 16in aluminum shroud around a 5.5in barrel, but that's barely longer than my G34 barrel and the Taccom 10in would give a bit extra punch, and the "brake" has a bit more pizzazz than the Odin. (they also have a 13/16 model that's also out of stock, but I like the 10/16)

I guess another option would be getting a 6in brake and having it pinned to a 10in barrel myself, but 6in brakes aren't easy to find either, and I'd rather save the time/cost of a pin/weld job.

What specifically is the restriction against a pistol lower or traditional 16 inch barrel in this case? If you want to have a rifle upper it's 16 inches either way.
