There will never be a good medium for comparison when it comes to diminishing returns. People who don't shoot enough will be gushing over how smooth it is and never actually use it, people who shoot enough have personal builds/worn-in revolvers that run better for them but have to begrudgingly admit that a ~$4-5k revolver is better than a Ruger.

Korth is what a revolver is like after you get action job, shoot 3,000 rounds through it, to get that silky smooth trigger pull but out of the box. probably costs about the same in the long run.
 
My dream is to own a custom falling block rifle from Ralph Martini, Rigby or Westley-Richards. that my excuse to post some gun porn.

I'd spec it out thusly:
.338 Winchester Magnum, for all north American game.
Best grade wood of course.
Full coverage engraving on the action, accenting engraving around the barrel shank.
Iron sights W/ Express sight for 50 yards and folding leaf sights for 100, 200 and 300 yards.
quick detachable scope mounts W/ Color case Hardened rings that are fully engraved.
Barrel band front sling swivel, inlet rear swivel.

It's a lot of money, but no more than a Hot-rod addict or Instrument enjoyed might spend on their hobby. My Grand-dad spend 6,000 on a single banjo, not to mention the money invested in his in-home recording studio. this is all way in the future of-course.

That's damn disappointing. I was a huge Colt fan for many years, but I'm glad a got a Dan Wesson for my 1911 instead of one of the newer Colt offerings. And believe me, it hurt not to get a Colt.

I don't have a problem with current colt FYI. My new Python is perfect. but Colt really suffered in the 1990s and during the height of the GWOT. making rifles for the military and foreign military sales diverted attention away from their civilian offerings and the quality really suffered. They have since stepped up their game since CZ bought them.

In my experience S&W is more likely to have serious issues that effect the operation of the gun while Ruger's issues are mostly cosmetic and sending guns out with out sights (LMAO)

Rugers Cust. Service is top tier though. they fix things really fast and will even send you parts no questions asked. The cylinder on my Wrangler was fucked up and they just sent me a new one in the mail overnight. they've also send me various screw's I've lost to the dust bunnies and even fixed a gun i broke due to my retardation no questions asked.

Henry's got good service too. My .45-70's mag tube was loose and would walk out under recoil and they outright replaced everything on my rifle except the receiver and buttstock. rifle went in with a round barrel with a barrel band retaining the mage tube and came back with a full octagon barrel with a dove-tailed mag tube.

Those are gorgeous rifles. Always loved falling block rifles. I'd be perfectly happy with a Ruger No.1. I'm a fan of Kentucky Ballistics and its always fun to see him get out his Christian Firearms 4 Bore falling block rifle.

UK is strange, even though on average it's a shithole for gun rights, some more traditional long guns like break / bolt actions are relatively easy to purchase.

Speaking of, I'm still wondering what the issue is with @Romulus augustulus's EC9s.. it's a good thing that Ruger manuals are easily available online and have exploded view diagrams. I had completely forgotten that the striker model isn't the typical Glock style design with a trigger bar interacting with a connector; instead, it has a trigger bar very similar to the hammer model, and a sear assembly to engage the striker. My money is still on the jamming issue being caused by the slide release, but I can't discount the possibility that the uncommon striker assembly might also play a role.
