It was kinda what gave this unnerving feel to Spidey's initial adventures. He could've ended up as a maladjusted ciminal or serial murderer had Uncle Ben getting shot because of him not taught him the hard way about responsibility. There's also this neat issue of Webspinners: Tales of Spider-Man where he reflects on how similar he used to be to one of his enemies, Mysterio (as in they were both luckless social outcasts who put on masks to get rid of their weaknesses and inhibitions) and how he could've easily ended up a criminal had his parents been as abusive as those of ol' Dome Head.

Back to the movie though, you peeps know what a certain scene from the movie has reminded me of?

The part where Thanos finally sacrifices Gamorra and the vision after it really reminded me of a simplified version of what happened to Griffith in Berserk after using his Behelit for the first time. It's probably a coincidence, as Griffith is by know means the only fictional character who had to take great sacrifices for his ambitions, but it still seems eerily similar. Especially the coloring of Thanos's vision with the blood moon and little Gamorra has reminded me of Griffith holding up the Behelit in a similar setting, as well as his nightmarish visions the God Hand had used to convince him into accepting their offer:

Moviebob is a Marvel cocksucker who is aware enough that the things SJWs will ree about are getting reseted in the sequel. I don't think he can be used as the reference material for all the SJWs out there.

Fun isn't something I consider when watching Doug Walker.
*reads about Channelawesome burning* But this? Does put a smile on my face.

Also, to stay a bit on topic: Of the three hero factions that more or less build in this movie, I consider the one involving Tony Stark the most entertaining.
 
Just got back, and I was genuinely shocked at how well put together and balanced everything was. It was a long movie, but it didn't feel it, the characters who got stuck together in the various sub plots were all greats foils for each other while Thanos is the first Marvel villian I was not only interested in by the end of the movie but I actually gave a shit about him.

This should have been a massive clusterfuck, given how many characters there were, but it wasn't. The people who put this thing together were very careful, very skilled and unlike so many other people these days with massive franchises under their control (see Star Wars) they actually seemed to give a shit about making something worth watching. It was weird, but in a surprisingly good way.

Unlike with the aforementioned franchise, I actually wanna find out what happens next.
 
Maybe one of you that knows more about this universe can answer a question for me.

Is death as insignificant in this universe as it is in the Dragon Ball universe? I imagine the surviving characters looking at the dying characters and smiling as they quip: "don't worry we'll fix this up for you! Just gotta get those stones back."

Or are the dead characters dead and unable to return?

you have to understand, this is the Marvel cinematic universe, not the comic universe. In the comics, these assholes always come back. In the MCU however, the thing that happened in this movie is pretty much unpredicted. The only hero who managed to come back from the dead time and time again was Dr. Strange thanks to having himself put into a time loop in the finale of his movie. But Thanos whipping out half of all life in the universe and eradicating every major hero of phase 2 and 3? Yeah, that is a first.
The thing is, the blow is obviously going to be less impactful as soon as you realize we have these reality altering stones and another Avengers movie coming out next year, where everything is most likely going to be reseted.
But for the time being, this is essentially the darkest hour of the MCU.
 
I just hope they just don't make a massive cop-out and have all characters returning from the dead, like It'd be so lazy if they brought back somebody like their lame version of Quicksilver. I'm ok with ppl like Gamora, Vision, etc, dead, bring back ppl the rest of the Guardians and Black Panther, and then pull the impactful deaths in the second part.

Because the timeline was changed and he never exploded, there is a body left over for the summation of what-her-face's research into keeping him alive without the stone. They will probably find a way to bring back Black Panther since I'm sure they love money.

Loved how it ended, despite everything they failed in the end. And I did tear up a bit at Spider-Man's death scene.

Do you think that Tom Holland's Spider-man really is dead? I thought he was going to Europe to film the sequel to Homecoming?
 
Seeing Nebula strung up in pieces. It hurts more if you saw GOTG 2 where Nebula tells Kraglin how Thanos pulled out her eye and her brain. Gamora's reaction when she saw Nebula hit me HARD.

I bet Vision ends up a secondary character tagging along in Black Panther 2.
