He was already at an advanced stage of colon cancer, though. If he was in stage I or stage II when it was discovered, he could have made it. I wouldn't know about stage III.

It's odd that after all these years the Howard ownership is lined up so that they don't even have to worry about the traditional concern of a Disney lawsuit.
Personally I'd rather see Howard show up in the Duck universe like Legend of the Three Caballeros or Ducktales.
 
It happened in the comics but it made sense, Shurri was trained as a warrior since being a child, in the films she is just a geek and looks frail as fuck. I think they should do a filler film, a prequel with T'Chaka as the protagonist, in his prime and facing Namor and just maybe have that forced "Disney feels" ending with T'Challa's birth also as a way of saying goodbye to that character but I'm against the idea of retiring T'Challa, he's the main character of the mythos, without him there's no point.

Besides they ended up telling every Black Panther story there is to tell with the first film, all his main baddies were present and only one is alive now, T'Challa is in peace with the passing of his father, he's king, there's vibranium etc etc. It's like they knew Boseman had cancer and that's another reason it was such a long ass film with all the Panther mythos in there.

I feel like within MCU continuity, Okoye deserves it more. She seemed to be doing Black Panther style missions for years when T'challa was gone, I feel like the obvious story there was she was more or less already Black Panther, and then they can proceed from there.

That scene in Infinity War where she and Nat save Wanda from Proxima Midnight was amazing. Then they did fuck all with her in Endgame. However that's because they shot Endgame before BP and Cap Marvel were released, not anticipating how successful they would be.

So yes Okoye would work

They should just put in on Disney Plus. There's a reason we have had Madden and NFL games every year uninterrupted since the dawn of time and it's because if the consumer is broken from the pattern, there's a chance he might not return to consoom the next time.
