Good luck trying to sell that in China. Fuck, black audiences in general as well.

Despite their supposed commitments to “diversity”, Marvel/Disney is not giving up that pretty penny. This gay character will probably be akin to LeFou in Beauty & The Beast.

Time travel movies are banned in China and I assume Endgame was able to work around that rule otherwise it wouldn’t have passed the censors.

Stonk woman Brie Larson guest hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. I don't know what it is, but there's something.. different about her that makes her more tolerable. Almost... likable. Damn I'm stumped.

Actually, it was one of the consequences of the two studios (Sony and Marvel/Disney) having "joint custody" of Spider-Man.

Sony agreed to share Spidey with Disney ... But under a LOT of conditions. One of the main conditions was that a lot of the original comic book characters (like Mary Jane, Aunt May, Uncle Ben, etc.) are allowed to either be completely omitted from the MCU, or that the characters could be included with drastic changes (including appearance).

This explains why Tony Stark is basically Spidey's "Uncle Ben" in the MCU, why Aunt May is young and hot, why Zendaya was cast as MJ ... I could go on.

This condition was made during the deal so that Sony could keep the option of making their own Spider-Man movies if they wanted.

Oh. I always thought the Marisa Tomei casting was merely a fourth wall break to the audience that know that Tomei and RDJ were a serious IRL couple many many years back. Honestly, that's what I got from all the jokes about Peter being horrified at the possibility Tony might hit on Aunt May.

Marvel plans to introduce LGBTQ and trans characters in Phase 4 of MCU including 'in movie shooting right now'

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR EASILY CUT CAMEOS, WHAT GREAT REPRESENTATION

(also lol at trans being included separately from LGBTQ even though it's there as the T, that's the modern LGBT community for you)

These gay and tranny characters will be minimal at most and just enough to pass the censors.

If it doesn’t, the content will be so small that taking it out won’t have any effect on the story

This. Anyone who thinks they'd even remotely risk those delicious Chinabux on this shit is insane.

I really can't imagine anything but a slow downward spiral in views for Marvel. They killed their most well known heroes and are now doubling down on the hated sjw marvel. Going through multiverse storyline seems like a JJ move, where everything has to escalate because of fear of letting the viewers down. But it will just exaggerate the fact that there are no consequences for any film.

Doubt it. This might be the start of a bizarre experimental period that they'll use to test the waters and see what more they can get away with, but the second they start seeing a sustained, significant slide, out will come the X-Men and it'll be off to the races again. They feel good because they started the universe with a bunch of B and C listers (anyone who says they seriously gave a shit about an Iron Man franchise before 08 is a dirty liar) and feel like they can do it with anything, and to their credit they have so far, but I don't see them being so cocky as to not have seriously contingency plans.

An experimental period will kill the MCU. People watch capeshit for low risk action films with bland humour. Not anything that will make them think or feel anything besides a momentary high, I have no doubt they'll try at least once to ape Joker and will completely miss out on it's whole points and fail miserably.
I also doubt X-Men will do well, Dark Phenoix seemed to flop, Hugh Jackman will stop playing Wolverine and restarting the franchise again for the third time will just make the audience not want to even bother.
As for the remaining heroes, you are right that Marvel struck gold with low importance heroes (though I don't think Iron Man can be considered that unimportant) but it had time to develop the characters (mostly) with solid films and excellent casting. Outside of Spiderman, I really doubt any other Marvel character that level any build up and following (especially after they nuked any good will towards the Guardian of the Galaxy).

Makes sense, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt because of how they took the Guardians from unknowns to fan favorites. Obviously they can't do that to everyone and at some point it's bound to not work, but I think at least in the short-term (5 years or so) Feige has a good enough idea how what to do.

The problem is that they haven't done any of that yet to anyone with the exception of Spiderman. They had a lot of time to build up the other heroes but I can't really see anyone caring about them to get the large audience.

Also, a point Marvel will need to justify is why they can't use time traveling to solve every problem.

Word of advice: when arguing with fanboys keep in mind they use mental gymnastics to keep the argument going until the otherside gets worn out.

Also as someone with a negative view of Marvel I will have to say this: The Time Travel is more like traveling to an alternative timeline that's actually in a different universe, so they can't affect their future by changing the past; they are only changing the future of a different universe.
