Not sure if this one fits here, but Jeremy Renner got allegation about him threatening to kill his ex-wife and himself from last year, more details come out from his nanny and a friend.
Now some says Marvel considering options with him as Hawkeye, may as well reading twitter thread for "cancel culture vs due process". The bit.ly article.

Given the Vic situation what I’m about to say should obviously be taken with a grain of salt, but in the past Renner has consistently popped up in “which actors did you meet IRL were actually assholes” threads for being creepy/gawking at cons - so I can’t say this news completely surprises me. To be honest this is why I was expecting him (instead of BW) to be killed off in Endgame, because he’s also the least important Avenger and this would have been a convenient way to write him out.

They want to replace him with Kate Bishop anyway

The problem is Disney has tried so hard to seem woke nowadays towards Western audiences, that they've done everything in their power to make liking the brand itself seem like a political action. Iger's comments on "deplorables" remind me too much of Hillary's, who's to say later on he won't go on a rant claiming how anyone who doesn't like Disney and co. is an evil bigot nazi who wants to send every minority to the gas chamber?

After all now Ariel in the Little Mermaid remake will be black, Aladdin 2019 apparently had a narrative based on the Hillary vs Trump election, and the Lion King 2019 remake is a "superior" film to the old one because...Black people are lions?

And like...Look at this horrible website. Look at the stuff they cheer, like Dumbo being cut for Disney +, Fox having their films restrained in favor of Disney's, or Maleficent 2 having a Gas Chamber scene. But oh no, it's all the haters and the non-Disney media out there like Joker that are the true evils of the world. Disney good, the rest of the world bad.

*Spits out water* WHAT?!

Apparently in the climax, aside from a war, the villain tricks the fairy race to come to a chapel to attend a wedding. It's all a trap, and she sends poison gas inside the chapel via an organ, once all the guests are inside. According to people who watched the film, it's sorta like something you'd see in an Holocaust movie, but with fantasy and fairies.

What does that have to do with the accusation of Renner being angry and depressed over his crumbling relationship with his wife?

I hate that I feel the need to defend out-of-touch celebrity millionaires, but:

1. These accusations were made by a lawyer during custody proceedings. In such proceedings, it is a lawyer's job to take every bad thing you ever did in a relationship, strip out all context and try to portray it as your normal behavior. It doesn't matter if Renner was Mr. Nice Guy 364 days a year, because the one day he threw a tantrum is the only thing you're ever going to hear about from his wife's lawyer.

2. Even if the accusations are true, so what? Renner got into a fight with his wife as their relationship was deteriorating. He was angry, depressed and suicidal--you know, like a lot of people at the end of their marriages. This isn't a metoo story because it doesn't involve the workplace, so what, precisely, is the public interest in this and why should there be any professional consequences for what is strictly personal, private behavior?

Biggest surprise holocaust since that one Nutcracker movie

Bob Iger calls Scorsese and Coppola's attacks despicable for attacking MCU.

Iger is a tool for using the Black Panther card to try to imply Scorsese and Coppola are racist for their criticism. You know what Black Panther is doing less than? Scorcese's African Film Heritage Project. Which actually is trying to preserve African films and show them to wider audiences, which is a lot more than Capeshit Blockbuster But With Black People.

I just found an MCU shill slut on tumblr defending Bob Iger saying how the MCU is superior to Coppola and Scorcese's films because they're "easier to understand" and pass the bechdel tests and have DIEvahcity "unlike their films filled with crusty old white men".

See how the MCU is getting hard to defend? The more Disney infests it with wokeness, the more intolerable it's gonna become in the long run.

You can agree with just about everything Scorsese says and still like the MCU.

He’s 100% right about them being the film equivalent of theme parks.

Yeah I'm getting crazy bad second hand embarrassment from everyone flipping their shit over it. It seems like it wasn't even that long ago the fanbase itself were admitting the films weren't exactly high art, so to have him say the same thing just a bit more rude to throw them in such a frenzy is a sight.

Also I can’t wait for Abigail Disney to finally drain Bob Iger’s life force.

Yes, Scorsese's comparison to theme park rides is actually very fair.

The question is whether you think that's a bad thing or not, personally I think theme park rides are an art form of their own and I also think there's always been "for fun" genre films for as long as there's been movies, Superhero movies are just the modern equivalent of 1950s monster movies or whatever.

So Scorsese's comment does come of as somewhat "old man yells at cloud" to me, but no one needs to be genuinely angry at him over it, it's just his opinion, people are free to their opinions.

This is no different than when whatever his face is Sisjel or Ebert or whoever said video games aren't art.

In the end Mickey still cashes big fucking checks and Martin wins a few gold statues, regardless of who is right.
