I am fine with Scorsese saying that they're "not cinema". It's not because I don't much care for the MCU anymore, but because the bulk of them are highly disposable. It would be like me being insulted that The Expendables is not cinema - he obviously means that it's not to a golden standard he feels makes it worthy of cinema, and let's be honest folks: it isn't. I may have liked The Expendables, but I can see it being crap in other peoples' eyes.
As it stands, where people view Infinity War as amazing and can't stop gushing about it, I see it as a half-decent popcorn flick. It was a stronger entry in the series, but that only turned it into a B+ for me. Doesn't mean you should burn all copies of it and salt the earth, but let's take them for what they are as cheap entertainment and appreciate them for that instead of trying to elevate them to something they're not.
