Rumors are flying now that Tom Holland has "unfollowed" anything Sony-related on all of his social media accounts. lol.

Can't wait for the 4th Spider-Man reboot in less than 20 years! And the 3rd one in less than 10 years!

And this could be Tom Holland avoiding the TISM, or it could be him pressuring sony

Question is is he doing it because Darth Mickey told him too or is he just being a petty ass bitch?

They’re losing out on *the* most iconic Marvel character, who was actually set up pretty organically in the films as a member of the “new Avengers”, which they could arguably only do *because* he’s already widely known - if any of the current teen characters showed up unexpectedly in the middle of a movie, you wouldn’t have normies cheering, you have them asking, literally who?

tbh they really, really should have prepared for this. Even if Disney is to blame for the deal going south (and reports seem to indicate that's the case) it's not like Sony hadn't been pants on head retarded with Spider-Man in the past and could have at any time botched the partnership themselves.

They actually were prepared

Phase 4: Rolls out new characters
Phase 5: Rolls out Fox Characters
Phase 6 (which would be 2025/2026) would be when they will do a new Avengers joint.
Tom Holland's contract with Sony will be done in 2023. If they dont renew tom they have to reboot the ENTIRE spiderverse they are building right now. So they have to nail down Tom.

Disney has TONS of stuff they can put him in to keep him from ever being able to sign again with Sony. Sony has to cut a deal

Wow. Maybe they should let him play the gay Spider-Man he's been pushing for, since he's got the part down of acting like a total faggot...

Didn't Garfield get sacked for not attending some Sony CEO event which embarrassed Kaz Hirai? Wonder if they'll drop the axe on Holland too if he steps too far out of line...

...if all that is true, of course.

He has a contract for 2 films. They'd have to buy him out

and then do a Reboot (and lose out on getting a deal with Marvel later)

So it would be in his favour provided he doesn't violate the contract? Not sure how the legal process works, but they seemed comfortable enough cancelling ASM and the Sinister Six film at the time.

Still don't think it will last more than a few months at best (though I wouldn't mind if it were permanent).

He could (reasonably) argue he unfriended Sony social media to keep himself from getting backlash. PROBABLY something his social media section of his contract covers. And Andrew prob got a pay out for not doing ASM 3

Why would they have to reboot? They have Venom that they can string out for a few more films and that Black Cat/Silver Sable movie in the works.

They can just wait out his contract and recast if he insists on acting like a pissbaby over this.

They also have ITSV if they want to tide Spidey fans over.

Their license requires them to make a spiderman movie. [though they OWN the rights liscense their is IIRC a use it or lose it clause]

So unless they want to go James Bond on the casting ((which they could try)) they would need a reboot

Into the Spider-Verse is entirely protected from this, and last I checked they didn't show or reference Holland Spider-Man in the Venom film. I would think only the mainline Spider-Man films would be hurt from this upset. That being said, it would still be a big upset considering how "new" this iteration is.

LOL this is what Cucking Out: Business Edition looks like :story::

What's going on? Disney wanted to take Feige off Spider-Man (because he's apparently getting spread too thin, and thus they're prioritizing shit they actually own), and they also want Sony to accept some new deal where they take more Box Office money (which is actually the bigger part, did ppl seriously think merchandising is bigger? Why would Sony give it up to begin with then?).

Sony apparently refused, which prompted Disney to pull the Boogie2988 trick and sic all their fanboys on Sony (which is particularly potent because Far From Home is still fresh in their minds), this is essentially them telling Sony "You can go on your own if you want, but you'll be fighting an uphill battle with the fans from the moment you do it".

What will likely happen?
Sony will accept some version of the revenue deal Disney offered them, and Feige will be replaced as producer with some other suit. Some people will autistically rejoice, Others will autistically shriek, and the world will continue to turn regardless.

Yep it's not a surprise Sony will cave in since at the end of the day Sony cares about profits and it's ironically the best move for them to do because for all the talk about Sony Pictures "having balls", Sony Pictures at the end of the day is just Disney if they were run by incompetent morons given all the leaks with Amy Pascal and such

That is Sony's current claim

No Kevin however means no rights to use Kevin's producer assets (the MCU)

I thought Amy Pascal was all about Miles Morales instead of that white boy Peter Parker.
