Marvel Cinematic Universe

Hello, nerds.

Calling this shit now: the finale of the Doomsday “phase” will be that Howard the Duck, Beverly and Man-Thing defeat Doom as Howard takes on Strange’s mantle.

tbh this shit is so lame I don't even expect Howard to show up
and anyways the REAL way to use Howard is to introduce a Spider Jerusalem / Hunter Thompson to Duckberg

ngl I will overlook a ton of shit if Downey drops a real fucking DOOM
I will overlook everything if this movie delivers DOOM beating the shit out everything and everyone.

I will be extremely disappointed if the C listers lasts more then 5 mins in a straight up fight against him. Except ant man. Paul Raud is unironically the best avenger.

I want to see the Avengers fight the X-men even if it doesn't make any sense.
Too bad, you're getting a movie that tells you you're wrong for wanting to see the Avengers and the X-men at all instead of one hundred gay brown teenagers and childless middle aged women with superpowers, while also failing to make any sense.

Let's be honest, did anyone here cared about the characters who aren't the OG Cap, Iron Man, Hulk, etc. post Endgame?
No, they aren't the exact same combination on race, gender and sexuality as me and therefor I cannot relate to them.

I was actually really excited for more Spider-Man.

Spider Jerusalem
It's been so long since I thought about Transmet that I thought this was some kind of Spider-Verse reference.

If they announce the cast of X-Men this year they should just do mini series introducing the characters, living and training at the academy and lead it up to a movie (teamwork, infighting, drama, leading up to a big bad). And then a miniseries dealing with the aftermath (loss, drama, infighting, new characters, etc etc) leading up to a new movie. But they shouldn't make it homework. Not sure if they are capable of that.

I'm still waiting for more ms. Marvel since outside of Loki, that was the only MCU series I actually enjoyed.

I’ve never seen a more apt user name on a forum than yours, hoss.

I honestly think Dr Doom is more interesting then the joker for how bipolar he is.
Doom is one of the greatest Memes in comics.

Joker got the power of the god and had to be tricked to give it up.

Doom got he power of a god and got bored.

Doctor Doom can not win because if he does then he has nothing to do, now they are going to absolute fuck him up in this movie by making him AU Tony Stark and having MCU Tony Stark return for one scene to beat him..but we all know this is going to fucking be shit.

Even during the height of Marvel's cultural relevance, I'd think the reported budget would have been straight up arrogance and lunacy, but this is straight insanity. This is needing to make billions going up against the third Dune movie which actually has a degree of hype around it. If I was in charge of Disney, I would have fired the financial guys who allowed a film to get that much of a budget given that's dangerous levels of reckless spending even in good times.
Dune is getting a lot more hype thanks to the Odyssey. Whether the film is good or not, it has helped to push even more attention to it. Especially with the Prologue attached to 70mm prints, and the exclusivity of it creating FOMO. These screens can make a lot of money and help increase box office revenues, albeit Marvel had a lower share with standard movie screens compared to IMAX. Dune benefits more from IMAX than Doomsday. Especially with many new installations, repairs, and new projectionists hired [and with proven success] it is likely Warner and other distributors will want to go with it].

Which, thanks to Disney's inhouse standard [infinityvision] they are likely going to push Dolby Cinema more, which is better for standard screenings [and the IMAX expanded ratio that Disney pushes can still be used in Dolby as Dolby screens often come in a 1.85:1 format, Disney really only cares for the significantly more numerous 1.90:1 screens]. Plus the seating is generally nicer as many older, GT IMAX theatres [the big, big ones] were originally designed for documentaries, so the seating layouts are meant for less than an hour, not three. Dolby cinemas usually have recliners.

ngl I will overlook a ton of shit if Downey drops a real fucking DOOM
nigga did you watch the trailer?

unless this movie is five hours long, they are cramming so many characters into it that we are gonna get
-doom reveal, omg he's such a badass*
-exposition flashback of how doom became doom
-doom exposition of his evil plot
-doom telling a lone hero who has infiltrated or been brought to castle doom in latveria that they have no chance of stopping doom**
-doom telling all the heroes they have no chance of stopping him, once they've avengers assembled for the set-piece final battle
-set-piece final battle extended to the point of blinding the audience with beems and asplosions, rupturing their eardrums with the sound effects, and generally turning their brains into mush with sensory overload. that doom finally loses after 25 minutes of generic capeshit action. possibly doom wins so they can repeat infinity war -> endgame

and that's about it

we aren't gonna get space for doom as a character to breathe, casually chew the scenery, develop the character at all. it will all be superficial HE'S BIG BAD stuff. because they HAVE to jam every cameo and callback and bit for the 8 gorillion hero characters they decided HAVE to be in this

*"IT'S DOOMIN TIME!" no doubt right after The Thing lets out with a good old "IT'S CLOBBERIN TIME!"
**this may be and probably will be the only scene doom is given some space to be interesting as a character

Última edición:
That trailer was the most generic thing they could have possibly come up with, good lord.

"Something's coming."

Okay.
Only element missing was a Giant Blue Sky Laser being shot up from a device to tear open a round portal in the clouds for this to be even more generic. The posters might as well just look like that black and white generic brand grocery packaging that was tried out in the 1980s, posters that just say "Marvel Cinematic Universe Film" in black font against a plain white background.

Let's be real, most of the movie is just going to be infinite amount of characters cameos meeting each other.
I’ve been saying that since the start. It’s going to be a movie of references to older Marvel movies. just endless cameos and callbacks to when Marvel still was able to put together a good movie. It makes you wonder what’s going on behind the scenes because it kind of reeks of desperation and panic.
