That should have been post infinity war
This is something I really wanted to see.
I feel like there was untapped potential within the timeskip between Infinity War and Endgame. I really would have been interested to see what happened right after the snap, like imagine the real world ramifications of it. I mean Endgame and a few post Endgame movies kinda gave a glimpse of that.
But I really would have loved to see what happened between those movies. It's like with the comic book media project in Star Wars that covered what happened during the Clone Wars between Episodes 2 and 3. Which gave us a lot of good content with comics showing stories of what happened in the war, the adventures that Anakin and Obi Wan went through and the other new characters in the comics.
They could have done something similar with the period between the snaps. One thing I loved about Infinity War is how real and scary a few scenes felt, especially that scene where 2 of Thanos's servants land in New York in their spinning ring spaceship. The main characters go outside the Taj Mahal to go to the source of the noise and there's an entire crowd of people running in panick, it's all windy and dusty as we here a loud spaceship noise until it's revealed to be that giant ring spaceship. It felt very raw and real, so they certainly had some writers who had a talent for writing "raw and real" things.
Their talents could have been best utilized for writing the period between Infinity War and Endgame, it would have been great if we saw a lot more of the aftermath, of what happened after the snap. Just imagine the real world ramifications of an event like this happening. You would have people panicking in the streets, cars crashing, more helicopters falling, the news media would be sending government alerts on TV like in the Ant Man movie urging everyone to stay calm. There would be authorities on the streets trying to keep crowds calm at the same time some of the policemen are disappearing. Social Media would be going crazy with people tweeting out in panic of all their relatives and friends who disappeared in front of them. They would be tweeting out how it relates to Tony Stark's disappearance. If Kiwifarms existed in the MCU, there would be a thread in the Happenings section about the snap and it would be having a lot of new posts with lots of pages going on with users here sharing updates on what the government is saying. Some people would think it's an end of the world scenario like like rapture, you would see street preachers going viral talking about how it's the "end times" and they would probably gain a few followers. Entire areas of land would probably be void of people like how it was shown in Endgame, I would imagine that maybe nearly the entire population of small countries like Cuba would completely disappear and their governments would completely collapse. There would be massive chaos with riots being formed by panicked people not knowing what the fuck was happening and probably still after even after the entire government explained what was going on. Then after that, imagine the economic and societal ramifications of the snap. Thanos would maybe be right that there would be more resources for people, but at the same time, there would be a lot of empty land where populations disappeared. An entire half of the workforce disappeared, how would you imagine that would affect different industries and productivity? I'm sure it would surely have a negative impact on the maintenance of long range infostructure like powerlines, cellular towers, internet cables. So there would probably be issues with the internet and cellular performance.
This was such a perfect avenue in the MCU to explore that they kinda neglected. They probably could have done this through a show of one of the MCU's street level Superheros like Daredevil. Maybe have a couple episodes take place during Infinity War when Daredevil is trying to hunt down his own villain while the story of Infinity War is happening in the background. They could allude to it by having a scene where the TV shows the space ship that arrived near the Taj Mahal and show it report later on of Tony Stark's disappearance. And then when Daredevil is having a final fight with the Villain with his allies and the villain with his goons. Maybe Daredevil needs his ally to throw him a Mcguffin, and right when that happens, his friend Foggy disappears or something. Daredevil gets pissed at the villain because he thinks the villain did it, and the villain is confused and explains he didn't do it and then his own goons start disappearing too alongside Daredevil's friends. And then Daredevil and the Villain are stuck in some sort of awkward situation where they are trapped in the building or something because some heavy piece of infrastructure in the Villain's lair can only be in place while being maintained but the Villain's minions holding it disappears and drops it and so Daredevil and the Villain have to work together to get out of the lair.
And once they get out of it, Daredevil goes to the streets of New York and sees the chaos of people disappearing in panic and TV channels behind the windows of shops in New York City playing audio of government alerts. And the next episodes afterwards, we see Daredevil having to deal with the chaos of the snap happening afterwards. That would feel really "raw and real." And the next season can showcase the heroes dealing with issues from the fallout of the snap, it would have been cool to see a show about Rodey in Mexico dealing with the narcos like how he described in Endgame. Maybe the Mexican government completely collapses from the chaos of the snap and the cartels completely take over Mexico and that's why Rodey is sent to deal with them.
At least that would have been my idea if I were Kevin Feige.
