I swear, I feel like a random fanfiction writer on the internet would be able to come up with a better story than the one we are getting with this upcoming movie and run it through AI and generate something better than what we are gonna get.

Marvel Doomsday, featuring the surprise debut of Squirrel Girl! Don't act like they wouldn't - and while it'd be in character for Squirrel Girl to just show up and win, I don't want the MCU Writers anywhere near Squirrel Girl.

Its sheer inertia keeping this kind of ensemble act going, regardless of whatever fatigue of the MCU exists. The only way it stops is if Doomsday bombs, but considering how rabid the MCU Stans remain, it's probably breaking even at minimum. It's not going to be Endgame money though - Endgame was a 10 Year plan and had both characters people gave a shit about and the last bits of star power Hollywood has been able to produce, Doomsday is a pivot after He-Wuz-Kang got charged and Phase 4 tripped on its own dick to the point the best of the bunch was Spiderman - and that might be the thing that sinks it.
Whatever your thought on Endgame, it set the bar fucking high, financially speaking. With how "Line must always go up" the investor/executive class is, the line not being able to top that might spark some changes. Or at least lower the goddamn budgets these movies have to work with...

Theres evidence that Doomsday costs 1 billion dollars in budget. I mean RDJ already came back and commanded a huge paycheck before that. Not to mention CGI work, marketing, paying the other staff so that would mean this movie has to make 2 Billion dollars to break even, anything less would be one of the biggest cinematic failures in human history. Now it also has to do this in an era of superhero fatigue, disillusionment with the hollywood machine, people being demoralized from current events. If its shit no amount of HYPE is gonna save it, and considering how soulless the trailer is I'm expecting it.
Oh boy I can't wait to see reused greenscreen locations, scenes and summaries of movies I never watched between quippy retorts and poor audio mixing.
I stopped after Endgame and didn't appreciate what they did with the cast after. Thor got shafted in his third movie, I read, so I wonder why they think they can pull the audience back in with his redemption. He looks fit and competent and all I can think is he'll be knocked down again so his daughter or another woman will take his place. They can't duplicate the original magic of the first three phases. It's over man.

Not only does the trailer look like complete ass and not only does several aspects of it confirm the leak of the plot that looks like total shit from sentence one, but even the editing itself is awful, who even did this? Steve Rogers was presented at the end like some type of epic reveal like we didn't already know from the teaser with the baby that he was going to be in the movie, did the trailer editor just forget about that?

Even during the height of Marvel's cultural relevance, I'd think the reported budget would have been straight up arrogance and lunacy, but this is straight insanity. This is needing to make billions going up against the third Dune movie which actually has a degree of hype around it. If I was in charge of Disney, I would have fired the financial guys who allowed a film to get that much of a budget given that's dangerous levels of reckless spending even in good times.
The amount of money poured in this project could have made many modest to upper funded films in attempt for the Next big thing with unknown actors, untouched or barely visited ideas, and ambitious effects teams with constraints, but this isn't happening until the "billion dollar movie" is seen as a rarity rather than a nessecity
