I found it consistently entertaining. Only scenes I thought were bad were the ones with Doctor Strange playing a major part, less because his character and more because the magic stuff was pretty retarded and largely "this has to work like this because the plot needs it to."

Since everyone seems to be jacking off over this, I might actually give it a watch once the honeymoon is over and I can view it without giving Disney money for it. I thought the other two Holland films were total garbage, but I might view it for nostalgia's sake.

Also wanted to give a shout-out to all the disingenuous faggots who are currently propping Andrew Garfield up like he's some national hero, when the other day they were shitting all over him for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and saying how much of a mistake he was. Fucking turncoats, the lot of them.

That's no one. Nobody likes Garfield's Spider-Man, not even now.

It is funny how it's literally "a wizard did it"

Why couldn't they have just made another Tobey movie? I don't give a shit about these other stupid Spider-Man actors, and I'm definitely not giving this money because of pandering.
I'd like them to still make another Tobey movie, what impact would good versions of Norman and Otto have on his world?

Garfield was never the problem though, he was good, it was just the script that sucked.

It was nice to see him back in a good movie.

It was no fault of his that ASM1 had its best stuff removed in editing and that ASM2 was written in a blender.

I hate Iron Spidey. But I plan on watching purely for nostalgia and to see Andrew, Tobey, Charlie, Willem, and Alfred one last time.

Sucks for Marisa Tomei though. Marvel hates older women that are not Janet Van Dyne, Hela, or Melina.
Hollywood hates older women. Theirs only a few older women who still constantly work if you look

I was actually more excited to see Toby's spider man again. Mainly because he was the first spider man of my childhood

Edit: also I haven't seen Toby in any movies since Spider man 3! That was the last time I saw him until now

AND written by Orci and Kurtzman on top of it. TASM 2 was doomed from the beginning.

After sleeping on it, the reason why people are saying it's a true Spiderman movie--while trying to avoid the implication that the previous movies weren't--is that Peter does take responsibility at the end. Which is true... when you realize that the reason this plot happens at all is because Peter wanted to have his cake and eat it too.
"I want everyone to forget me except for these people" and trying to save the villains. Now remember, had he done what Strange said, those men would have died, but Aunt May would still be alive. Which, in all fairness, is a Spiderman plot point. The difference is instead of being selfish about it, he's also dumb.

Well if you want to know they never made another Tobey movie, blame Sony since Raimi was pissed off by them trying to get more control over Spider-Man 4 which caused him to quit.

The thing with Garfield in this movie is that he’s actually written better and the Amazing Spider-Man 2 was a complete mess written by people who were thinking of a cinematic universe first than making a good movie

Yeah, Sony didn't have an idea of what to do during the TASM era. TASM 1 was chasing The Dark Knight which is why it's so dark-looking and TASM 2 was written by Orci and Kurtzman.

I cannot believe they got the best Spider-Man to return.

That may have been an excuse right during that pre-production, but they obviously could have patched things up with them by now. Honestly, I hate the MCU and the Garfield and Holland films look like trash. This would be the only thing I would have paid money for at this point. I'm not going to pay money for a cameo or whatever this film contains.

Saw the movie earlier today.

I loved it. I'm saying this as someone who has absolutely hated the vast majority of what the MCU has had to offer this year. It certainly uses the nostalgia to its advantage, but it's done in a way that is vastly superior to films like Ghostbusters: Afterlife and The Force Awakens. There's new stuff that is done with the nostalgic elements, and it worked for me.

I've enjoyed MCU Spider-Man quite a bit, but there are two major issues I have with the first two movies: That there seems to be no lasting consequences for Peter's choices, and that he's more like "Iron Boy" instead of Spider-Man. These problems I have absolutely prevented these movies from being great for me. No Way Home fixes those two issues big time, which makes this movie easily the best of MCU Spider-Man. I love how this movie essentially just distanced Peter Parker from the Avengers and the MCU altogether. The final scene of the movie leaves Peter at a place where I believe that he is finally and truly Spider-Man. If the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies will no longer be a part of the MCU, then I am completely and utterly fine with that and I even welcome it. I just love how the movie ended.

I'd also like to congratulate Andrew Garfield for finally being in a Spider-Man movie that I didn't hate, lol. Seriously, though: He's pretty great in the movie (hands down his best performance in a Spider-Man movie), and I actually felt something for him when he saved MJ. I hate The Amazing Spider-Man movies with every fiber of my being, and this movie somehow effectively pulled at my heartstrings during an Andrew Garfield moment. That was the biggest surprise of the movie for me, to be honest.

A lot of this movie felt like a much-deserved curtain call for Tobey Maguire, Willam Dafoe, and Alfred Molina ... And it also felt like a redemption arc for Andrew Garfield and Jamie Foxx, haha.

One majorly standout thing for me was the Green Goblin. I adore how he was handled in this movie. At first, I didn't think I could be invested in a MCU Spidey vs Goblin fight, but this movie played its cards right by killing off Aunt May and making the fight personal. That's how a Spidey vs. Goblin arc should always go.

My top 3 Spider-Man movies are still the first two Raimi movies and Spider-Verse (which I totally expected would remain the case after this movie) ... But I'd absolutely put this one sitting comfortably in 4th place, and it's for sure on the higher tier of MCU movies for me ... And it's the only watchable MCU movie since Far From Home.

I was surprised how well Andrew Garfield and his bad guys were done, despite never seeing their movies. I know they are probably terrible, but I legit want to watch em now.

As well done as the ending was, I think a part me will always miss the iron spider phase of his character. I know a lot people bitched and moaned about how he had it easy in his shadow, but there was something unique and interesting about Peter's mentor/father-son relationship with Stark. I appreciated how that uniquely influenced his character and the world around him.

If Stark wasn't in Homecoming, there wouldn't be Iron Lad criticisms in the first place nor would his shadow constantly haunt Far from Home. Stunt casting has always been more important than the actual stories being told.

I liked it and I loved seeing all the Spider-Mans working together. It made me hyped for the Spider-Verse sequel. I felt kind of bad for Doc Ock and Norman when he wasn't crazy.
Don't know why Doc Ock fucked off for a bit if he was cured. When Andrew saved MJ I was so happy for him, it felt like he was redeeming himself when saving her and I was happy he got to play a well written Peter since I know how much the role means to him. I wonder who's gonna help fight the symbiote in the next one?
