I must be the only one who liked the Amazing movies, especially the second one. (Peak Emma Stone > everyone else.) My biggest gripe was redoing the origin story, which I don't think the series ever recovered from, and using Green Goblin so soon.
Fear not, for I have watched these movies a few days ago. Your no longer alone farmer.
Personally, I can't remember much for the first 1 since it was a little slow then it REALLY got going after the skateboard scene, but I enjoyed the second one more than the first.

My argument is they should've either 1.Put Harry in the FIRST movie, 2. Introduced him sooner (the 45 minute mark feels a bit too far in) so he didn't feel shoved in at the last 20 minutes, or 3. Same as #2 but like don't turn him into the Green Goblin so soon. Just keep him around as a bitchy little moody rich kid, then movie #3 we shoulda went full Goblin (but y'know, 3rd movie doesn't exist.)

Also side note: maybe this is the cocktail talking, but I had a theory
that Strange sent Peter to a universe where he doesn't exist. Like the multiverse is all and real, and fractured to all shit due to Sylvie, so to explain that plot hole I brought up bout Mysterio, I feel like MAYBE all the shit in NWH happened, that universe still exists, Peter however got poofed to another dimension where he/spider man simply doesn't exist. Course it all depends on how multitude of madness goes I suppose.

Edit: forgot to spoiler that whoops.

Avi Arad has moved onto video games and is producing the Uncharted and Borderland movies. Also from the leaks, he tried to get the movie rights to Mario and Pokemon for Sony which he failed to do.
Honestly, why even bother with Nintendo franchises. Mother Fucker should be boosting Sony’s street cred by making good movies based on their franchises. Most Sony properties have stories to adapt, so why not use the one successful part of the brand to raise the failing movie division up.

Do you now how many would probably kill for a Sly Cooper movie (yes, I know it was cancelled), or a Jak? With the huge modern popularity and good writing, they could probably do a 180 on Ratchet & Clank as well. Uncharted is a good start, but they are seriously missing out on a gold mine with how beloved a good chunk of Sony IP are.

I feel like expecting Avi Arad to actually make good content is a high bar to ask for. The guy literally is the most over the top producer in just seeing these things as commercials first than as anything meaningful.

I'm really curious about the future of the MCU and the direction they're heading at. Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet were very well layed out and simple to understand and predict. Everything made sense and it was like climbing a ladder to the climax of that story.

Everything Multiverse related seems to be happening all at once. So much has been teased, but immediately taken away. Quicksilver from the Fox Universe? No. Tom Hardys Venom in the MCU? No. Will Kang be the new Thanos? Will Evil Doctor Strange be the new Thanos? Will the upcoming phase introduce the X-Men and the Fantastic Four? Will Daredevil play a role? Will there be a new Avengers team? Will there be new Avengers movies? Will the Dark Avengers make an appearance? Will the Dark Avengers be from alternative universes or will already existing evil characters and anti-heroes like U.S. Agent form the Dark Avengers?

Mario and Pokemon are far more well-known ips than anything from Playstation that's the reason Sony would want the movie rights. But let's say they did get the rights to make movies based on Mario, none of that stops them from making movies based on Playstation ips as well.

The amount of people who would kill for a Sly Cooper movie is far less than those that turned up to Detective Pikachu. With that said there is money to be tapped from making movies and shows out of PlayStation ips which is why PlayStation Productions was set up to handle adaptations of those ips and be a middle many between the different departments of Sony.

Playstation Productions have over 10 projects in the works, Uncharted movie, Last of Us Tv show, Ghosts of Tsushima movie and a Twisted Metal TV show are the known projects.

My point was more, if we consider the idea that Sony is in competition with Nintendo for gaming/console sales, why would their studio focus on obtaining Nintendo IP rather than raising up their own? If the movies based on their characters were successful, then that might help further the sales of the game division by making the IP more well known.

Sony’s IP has more niche, but strong fan bases. I feel like they could help the movie studio to some capacity. But let’s say they are not that big, if, say, a Ratchet & Clank movie is really good, then maybe that will further the audience of Ratchet & Clank, increasing sales on Rift Apart and making them a household name that could compete with Mario rather than stay niche.

I guess I feel that if I was in charge, I would probably try my hand at developing media for IPs my company owns first. For starters they would likely be easier to obtain, and second, boosting Sony IP out of their niche hole would only benefit the company overall.

I am glad they are finally getting stuff up and going. Sony has strong IP, but their lack of care has really diminished so many of their franchises. Seeing stuff like Twisted being thrown a bone in any capacity is really nice after Sony has let so many of their franchises rot for the past decade.

Because they want to do what will make them the most money or rather think will make them the most money. Same reason why they made a deal to keep Spider-man in the MCU even though it meant 25% of the profit went to Disney (note Disney also pay 25% of the budget and marketing now) because even with that deal Sony saw the increased potential for profit. Or why they did the Angry Birds movies over Ratchet.

But I agree Sony Picture has been doing an awful job with their ips even outside of gaming, it has been getting better but they still put out shit like Men in Black: International and Charlie's Angels that are just brand killers.

The whole Sony in competition with Nintendo really hasn't been much of a thing for a while, Nintendo does its whole blue ocean strategy since the Wii to avoid that and Sony Music Entertainment opened it's own studio which published games like Tiny Metal on both switch. pc and ps4.

The "Infinity Saga" was also make it up as they go along until like 2015, 2016; Thanos was apparently going to be the villain, and presumably killed off, in Avengers 2 before Joss reeee'd until he got to ruin Ultron. I feel like for as directionless as the multiverse shit is shaping up to be, a lot of it is setting up for a couple of specific enemies. They want Kang in there, so Loki and apparently the new Ant Man are going to set him up. They clearly thought Eternals was going to be a much bigger deal, because the ending of that set up a "Avengers level threat" in a massive way. I think the new Doctor Strange shit is just more or less a way to establish full power Scarlet Witch.

I'd be very and unpleasantly surprised if they did anymore "Hello fellow Marvels, it is me! Jennifer Lawrence Mystique!" type shit. I think the Spider-Man stuff was a one-off and mostly because Sony insisted on it.

Multiverse shit should be used to get any remaining Marvel characters into the MCU.

With Fantastic 4 it's very obvious what to do, have them be from an alternate retro 60s styled present day, very much like the 90s Michael Chabon script, then using super science they cross over into the MCU, Reed Richards could kind of take up the Tony Stark mantle of cool science guy, there'd be plenty of humor to mine out of the idea of a dude stuck in a Mad Men style cultural mindset finding himself in the Woke present day.

I like the idea of Reed taking over a Stark role (I'm holding out hope that's who bought Stark Tower in Hawkeye), but the multiverse shit itself I want to end pronto. Leave old X-Men with fox, make new ones. Focus on different ones too. I want Redneck Rogue, no more goth faggotry. Shove a new Jubilee in there too if they're that serious about muh diversity.

X-Men is more debatable, but multiverse would work really well with Fantastic 4, the essence of the characters is that early 60s vibe, which is why any attempts to "modernize" them with prior movies fell flat (especially the 2015 one)

Having them be fishes out of water in the MCU world, not just Reed being a Don Draper type, but Sue also being an old school lady finding herself in a Woke modern world, would add an interesting dynamic to make them stand out among the other MCU characters and make their story a little more interesting for what can easily come off as generic (like the 2000s movies)

The only question is what to do with Dr Doom, is he another multiverse visitor or has Latveria always been part of the MCU? I don't think Doom needs to be from the multiverse, but maybe Reed knows him from his own world and is shocked to learn that in the MCU he's a villain instead of a good guy, so the connection between the FF and Dr Doom stems from Reed feeling like he has to "fix" this thing that's wrong in the MCU world that was fine in his.

Doom should be from MCU Earth proper. Maybe doing a Doctor Strange-like journey on developing his powers. In an ideal scenario (aka one that ain't fuckin happening) he'd get either a movie or show that follows him from some Europoor rube and watching the Avengers and all these magic people in this world and seeks out how to get that himself, and then pulling it off. Not a fan of him needing to just pop in from some other realm and I personally would really like to see them dabble in the waters of letting villainous personalities going on long character arcs, and then succeeding.

But that's likely too similar to this shit with "mean Doctor Strange" from What If and now MoM. So likely not happening. But out of any villain, he out of everyone should get a proper development.

Redneck Rogue must have her skunk hair not that gayass emo goth witch's peak she been stuck with since the pedo Singer X-Men movies.

Saw the film. Really liked it and how it implemented nostalgia as part of the story, much like Blade Runner 2049.

It does bug me regarding the plot hole that Electro knew Peter Parker, which is why he was sucked into the multiverse. I could make up some head canon where since Electro was basically electricity before he died or that Dr. Strange didn’t exactly understand the spell he was using, and that he in a way he would have detected what Peter Parker sounds like and that he was Spider-Man, but at this point, it’s a plot hole.

But they couldn’t resist having Jamie Foxx in the MCU.

It also doesn't exactly help that Electro was the best villain in the Amazing Spider-Man films.

Redneck/Sassy Southern Belle Rogue is the best Rogue.

She was my favorite X-Man growing up. Imagine my disappointment when I saw the first Bryan Singer X-Men movie, and how I remained disappointed over how Fox handled Rogue ... Easily one of my personal least favorite comic book character adaptations on the big screen.

Even Anna Paquin is on record saying something to the effect of "It would be nice to actually fly in one of these movies eventually ..." Everyone (including her) knows that her Rogue sucked, and it was all because of the writing, unfortunately.
