I did at home brow lamination and I love the way it turned out!

I really wanted fluffier brows, but I could never get them to stay in position because of the direction the hairs grow in, so I permed them in the shape I wanted. It was pretty easy and it worked way better than I expected.

I also picked up Glossier boy brow + brow flick and I love them so much, especially brow flick (I got them both in blonde). It makes really natural looking strokes, it doesn't look like I'm wearing anything.

Kind of funny because now my brows have a more "natural" look than how they actually grow naturally. I used to have really full brows but I overplucked them in the 90s so they never fully grew back, but now I can draw them back in how they used to grow and it looks very realistic.

I'm not a perfume whore but I do love to smell nice. I really like fruity and sweet scents, but they never last long after I spray them, plus some of them smell too childish. I've found it difficult to find a scent that is sweet or fruity while also being more appropriate for my age. Right now I'm on the hunt for a new scent to wear, but not really have any luck. Any recommendations?

I did have all time favorite scent once... A few years ago, I bought Creed by Aventus. Out of all the perfumes, body sprays, and cologne I have ever worn, this was my favorite. Not just because it smelled amazing, but because it was the only one that guaranteed compliments whenever I went out. I'm not kidding when I say EVERY time I went out. It didn't matter where I was going, at least one person would say "Oh my god, what smells so good?" or "You smell nice!" etc. It's hard to describe the smell. It have a nice pineapple scent that lingered and and odd scent in the background that I couldn't quite put my finger on. It just smelled damn good, and I loved it.

Sadly, I learned when re-ordering a bottle that the scent was never the same exact scent as the previous bottle. It would vary wildly depending on the batch number. The best smelling batches are either gone or expensive as fuck to get. None of the new batches come close to the old ones; I read that the old batches were made before restrictions were put in place on an ingredient used to make it, so that's why the new batches are so lame.

I made mine last for almost two years before I ran out. I tried ordering different batches, but it just wasn't the same. I also tried ordering several "legit" batches people were selling on ebay and perfume forums, but they were either fakes or just too old and smelled different. I didn't get compliments on them like I did the real did. Really sucks. *sigh*

my go to 'you smell amazing' is delices by cartier. I think it smells like apples, cherries, pink pepper etc but the descriptions say it is supposed to be cherry and no apple. it lasts and smells heavenly with no funky undertones or emd notes

What do you think of Phlur? I got one of their sampler boxes and so far I like them all, but I'm not a real perfumista. I just like the pretty smells.
I first and foremost believe that you should wear whatever in the world that makes you happy!* I am only an expert in my own mind. I said earlier in the thread that I struggle with having scent actually have scent on me so phlur is way to lighly scented for me to be able to consider buying. The line does smell nice and it's one that probably smells really nice in spring /summer especially because it's not overwhelming.

*except axe etc

Speaking of perfume, I am thinking on buying the Absolu version of Bright Crystal because I heard it wears a lot longer than the original. Also, a history-loving part of me wants to buy Black Jade from Lubin, this perfume that Marie Antoinette used to wear. It’s so expensive, but I would love to buy the smaller bottle one day. I need to find more history-based cosmetics (I know about Besame and I love their lipsticks of course).

Someone on a discord channel I frequent had duplicates of Sydney Grace shadows so she shipped them out to me, it’s coming this Monday and I am pretty excited for them. :)

Última edición:
I'm a basic bitch with perfume. I always like stuff that just smells like vanilla or coconuts.

I finally ordered a bunch of stuff from Glossier I wanted for awhile. I ordered the futuredew, skin tint, boy brow, balm dot-com and bubblewrap.
I also ordered a colourpop blush stix and lite stix, and a Morphe blush brush. Blush is my favorite product and I have a problem with buying a bunch of different blushes that probably don't look that much different.

I'm slightly disappointed in the Miss Bliss palette from Colourpop. It's a lot more neon than I thought it was going to be and also extremely light in color. Was hoping to be able to use it for a look for my (extremely small and extremely casual) wedding; probably won't happen.

Oh well, I'll keep an eye on their website in hopes that they stock more "build your own" colors.

I’m not sure if it’s girly or not but I’m having trouble with my self image and I see all these cute outfits in this thread and I can’t see myself wearing them without feeling and looking like a whale. I’m not even over 200lbs and I just feel like that. Would also appreciate some weight lost tips bc I’m struggling with that.

I know that feel, having body image issues can really fuck with you. I was overweight for a while due to some medical issues and just really struggled with losing weight and my self-confidence plummeted. I've been doing keto + intermittent fasting for three months and have lost 40+ pounds. I am now considered a healthy weight, but I still wanna go a little further. I know keto can be a slippery slope in regards to going off of it, but I intend on moving to a more relaxed version of keto once I am happy. Plus intermittent fasting helps you lose weight on its own, so I am gonna be sticking it to as well. But I also recommend at least some light exercise daily. I personally just do weights + squats since some of my skin is getting saggy due to the quick weight loss and I wanna tighten up.

Keep in mind that not every weight loss plan works the same for everyone. You need to go with the one that is best for you and your health. And most importantly, don't give up! Pretty much any kind of weight loss has really good weeks where you are super happy looking at the scale, and other weeks where you wonder why you're even trying. That is okay! Don't let yourself get down, and use it as motivation. My only warning is to please make sure not to push yourself too much. Body image issues can really distort your view of yourself, and it's important not to go too far with it. I wish you the best of luck, and if you ever need more tips or just someone to root for you, feel free to shoot me a PM!

There are a million websites and books out there that will tell you they have the secret to weight loss. It's easy to get overwhelmed and feel like you just can't do it. But at the end of the day, there is no grand secret to losing weight. It's very simple: burn more calories than you consume.

No one likes this answer, but that's all there is to it. You should just eat like you normally do for a week, but keep VERY accurate notes about how many calories you are consuming. Lots of people will say they "know" how much they consume, but they are wrong. Most people underestimate how much they're eating. After a week of eating and keeping track of your calories, you can then look at the data and understand how many calories you need to cut to lose weight. You can shed pounds by calorie counting without ever having to do any exercise.

Learn to like "diet" foods and drinks you may not care for. I don't like Coke Zero very much, but it's zero calories and it gets the job done when I'm craving something besides water. Lots of vegetables are practically zero calorie and are very filling. If you aren't lazy, you can cook and spice them up to taste really good too. Learn to drink water or chew gum when you've feeling hungry or bored between meals. Drink water before and after meals to get fuller faster. Stop eating deep fried meat and stick with some simple low fat chicken. Etc. There's a lot of little changes you can make to your diet to help lose weight.

What I personally do:
I like to eat a lot and I find it hard to just eat small meals through out the day. Lots of people can do this, but I can't, especially with my weird work schedule. I also found I would get bored and eat if I was having a slow day. I am also too lazy to count calories all day. So, I just do the One Meal A Day plan. Basically, I fast all day and just eat whatever I want at night time, since it's pretty much impossible for me to go over my calorie intake in one meal. If I start gaining weight, then I know I'm eating too much and I'll adjust my calories, but I haven't had to do that in a long time. Fasting seems hard at first but I swear by it now. I seriously don't feel hungry at all during the day, and one big meal at dinner is very satisfying.

If I need to lose a few pounds quickly, I do a weekend water fast. I tend to do this right after holiday feasts.

Jumping on the bandwagon with some stuff that works for me. Like @lamictal said, keto and/or IF is actuallly pretty solid. You'd be surprised how good you feel on "low carb" food in general. (I put that in quotes because if you think about it, we live in a hyper-carby world, so even "low carb" now is more like "The amount of carbs other people ate for the last 6000 years".)
Some other tips I can give:
  • Drink more water. We need more than we think we do. If you can't do water immediately do sparkling water and unsweetened tea. The point is that a lot of times when we think we're hungry we're actually just dehydrated.
  • Added sugars are the enemy. I can elaborate but the takeaway is to learn to read food labels and avoid that shit.
  • Weightlifting is awesome. Muscles use more energy to maintain than fat, so it increases your resting metabolic rate just by existing.
And as always, dieting doesn't work. You have to make permanent changes, because if you're 200+ and not a big-ass dude, then something is wrong to begin with.

I need help looking for a decent blush brush. Something quality that could pick up powdered sugar and dust it evenly without dropping hairs.
I know nothing about makeup brushes, pls help
I'm not much of a brush elitist, but EcoTools has always served me well, and it's not one of those expensive brands--

I like a tapered blush brush! I am also not a brush fiend and I only have experience with synthetic fibers, even though a lot of beauty YouTube gals really push super expensive natural hair brushes.
Real Techniques is a solid company for brushes, but for another budget option, I really like the flower beauty precision blush brush!

If you want something a little fancier, the Scott Barnes highlighter brush is marketed as being for highlight but is also great for blush. His brushes are great.

This is extremely important, but with that said, there is something I forgot to add that I wish I had known when starting my new plan. I drank TOO much water and was essentially flushing out all my good vitamins and electrolytes. I was feeling really bad for a bit until I got a blood panel done and I was low in pretty much everything. I had to get a couple of IVs to make up for the loss. So make sure to drink lots of water, but also take multivitamins and get your electrolytes in. Powerade or Gatorade Zero (for zero sugar) can work just fine for the electrolytes.

Possible unpopular opinion, but a year ago I got Colourpop's disney villain collection- more specifically the evil queen's and I'm just gonna say it: the lipstick and lipgloss that was in it was pretty disappointing. The lipstick got pretty messy and severed even though I never pulled the tube all the way and kept it out of the sun/high temperatures, and the lipgloss had less color than I expected. Although I really do like the eyeshadow palette and highlighter from the collection so there's that :).
