Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipsticks are underrated these days, I think. They've been around for forever, and they're still solid and affordable lipsticks. For the vintage style lovers out there: Revlon still has plenty of shades available that were popular in the 1950s, like "Fire & Ice," "Cherries in the Snow," and "Pink in the Afternoon."

I wish they still had "Everything's Rosy", which was Frida Kahlo's go-to. I want to give one of their older shades a shot since I've been obsessed with make-up/skin care history as of late.

Okay, I’m going to shill for Unique Vintage for a bit. I need to tell everyone how nice these skirts are:

They just came out with an anchor print skirt, but there are so many options, including: burgundy, red, denim, black and black with polka dots. The flare is very flattering for many body types (more than the pencil version). I’m also a sucker for suspenders. The skirt is expensive though, and costs $88. If you want to splurge on a skirt that will make your curves stand out, then go for it. If you’re not comfortable with prin, I suggest the black version:

You can seriously wear this skirt in so many ways. This is the style of top I like to wear with the skirt:

Okay, I’m done sperging.

Ordered a couple of things from Flower Beauty recently. I've known about the brand for years, and I just haven't tried it until now.

I got the setting spray and the Jungle Lights eyeshadow palette. I really like the setting spray; it smells nice and it's moisturizing-- a great spray for "reviving" your makeup to prevent it from breaking down and looking crusty after wearing it for a long time. I wouldn't recommend this for oily skin, though. This seems to be a good setting spray for "maturing" skin, like mine (I'm approaching my mid-30s-- it happens! lol).

The Jungle Lights palette though? Oh my goodness, it's flipping amazing. Granted, it's not a palette that gives you a "complete" look, so you'll at least need a neutral palette to go with it ... But the shadows themselves are out-of-this-world amazing. The shadows are so metallic and pigmented that it's insane. The palette is $19, so that's a bit expensive for drug store makeup. However, the quality is stellar, and the pans in the palette are huge.

So yeah ... Good stuff. I'm happy with the purchase. Has anyone tried Flower Beauty's foundation and concealer? I'm so tempted to try them out at some point.
I. Need. That. Palette. Greens and purples are my go-to eye colors.

Unrelated--do any of yall have any experiences with alternative/affordable bridal salons? The Big Sick has really fucked my budget and I've got window shopping to do.

I don’t know where you live, but it’s always good to look up local bridal salons. I went to a local bridal salon for my dress and since I bought off the rack, I saved a few hundred dollars. Most bridal salons will give you a price range of the dresses they have as well. If you have trouble finding something, The Knot has a handy directory where you can look up bridal salons on your area and price range.

You can also look into second hand dresses on Etsy if you’re willing to go a bit vintage. Whichever you choose, be aware that alterations will make the dress more expensive.

Another option is to go to websites like ASOS or JJ’s House to find bridal dresses. Just be aware of the sizing and be sure to size up if you aren’t completely sure about the fit (bridal dresses are usually sized up for alteration purposes anyway). The quality probably won’t be as good as a bridal salon, but it’s a way to save money.

Any way you choose though, just make sure it’s a dress you love. If you don’t feel good in the dress, then don’t wear it.

Unique Vintage is so, so good! I have a few dresses and skirts from that site, and I flipped out when I saw their I Love Lucy collection.

I've been eyeing these skirts for a while, too. Thanks for the recommendation!

I have a lot of Unique Vintage denim. I like their jean and most of my shorts are from them. Kind of expensive thoooo I'm a cheapass and they do cute collabs sometimes but again, a bit spendy for what it is. I understand the more elaborate stuff like collab skirst/dresses being expensive, but like this Care Bears collab tee was priced at $36 c'mon now (to be fair it's on clearance now for half that).

My package from Besame was supposed to come on Friday but it’s going to be later than expected (and that’s why I ordered stuff early because I expected that to happen).

I still haven’t received my package yet and if I don’t get it by next week, I am just going to file a claim for it. I get that it’s because of COVID-19, but I just want an update on it. I haven’t had one since Saturday. It just sucks because it means my mom won’t get her present.
EDIT -- My package was at my local destination distribution center, scanned this morning. Hopefully I'll get it by tomorrow.

Has anyone here tried KimChi Chic Beauty?

Fyi, melt cosmetics is coming back online approx 1hr from now and almost everything will be on sale for 24hrs :P

Any special recommendations?? I checked the site and as much as I like the colors of Smoke Sessions, the weed theme is a little off-putting and I’ve seen mixed reviews for the eyeshadows.

Also if anyone cares, the Scott Barnes sale is still ongoing and the Snatural palette that I bought is incredible. If anyone’s looking for a workhorse warm-leaning neutral palette, it rocks! I’ve used it almost every day since I got it.

Edit: anyone interested in Wayne Goss cosmetics? I never bought his brushes because I’m not that gal, but the new lip collection is beautiful if very basic.

My experience so far is that I prefer their stacks to their palettes although they seem to be phasing out the stacks. I like their eyeliner pencils and gel eyeliner formula, if you're into that (they call it gel but it's more like a cream imo)

Random question but does anyone have any good tips on cutting straight bangs. I usually got the bob with bangs gping but because of quarantine it's grown to much and looks awful getting put to the side. I just don't want the to look insanely crooked because I know they won't be perfect straight across anyway since I'm doing it. Anyone else been struggling cutting their own hair In this mess lmao?

I personally use thinning shears to do mine, but I have more "shag" bangs and less clean and straight. I find it is a lot more forgiving to use them than regular scissors. I haven't touched the rest of my hair, I was growing it out anyway after my traumatizing last cut. (not that it'll do anything...it has been almost three years now of my hair being the exact same length)
I bet there are a ton of tutorials out right now.

I just got these shoes in the mail yesterday and I am in love with them. They have soft soles and the gingham is so fun. These shoes are from BAIT footwear and cost $69 (if anyone is interested in a pair of their own). I usually wear a 5.5 (US) but the smallest available was 6. That said, a review from someone working for this company suggests going half a size up to fit the heel. They come in black as well, if red isn’t your thing:

Ulta has curbside service now, so I treated myself a little for Mother's Day and got two tubes of my favorite Essence Lash Princess mascara (buy 1 get 1 50% off), Colourpop Sweet Talk palette (gorgeous peaches and corals, would be beautiful on blue eyes) a bottle of Seche Vite top coat, and since it's apparently lipstick throwback week for me, a tube of Clinique Black Honey.

Funny/sad story to share.

Wanted to dye my hair because I was getting some crack ho roots, ordered dye a month ago on Amazon. Order got delayed cause the shipping facility had a huge Corona breakout. Package got transferred to another facility. I got an email today saying it's also gotten a coronavirus breakout and they don't know when they can deliver.

I'll probably get it for Christmas now. Lol (:_(
