I found this nice Gucci bag but I dont have 1,500 to blow on it. I've been thinking about getting a decent looking rep for maybe 150-200 bucks.

is anyone here subscribed to birchbox? is it worth it?
It depends what you're in it for. I dropped Birchbox after a few years in favor of Ipsy, because BB was mostly skin and hair and very little makeup. If I got one more sample of Miss Jessie's Curl Pudding I was going to cut a bitch.

Like what @StrawberryDouche said, I've seen/read a lot of stories about Birchbox not sending a lot of makeup items. In my opinion, I've always found skincare samples to be utterly useless, as you can't determine whether the product works for you after a single use. And perfume samples are just OK (but you essentially get those for free in a place like Sephora ... So I don't see what the point is).

For a while, I did Ipsy (canceled my subscription a few years back when I moved, and I just haven't signed up again for whatever reason). I thought that Ipsy had a more versatile range of beauty products, and there are products that I love now because of the samples I got in an Ipsy bag. Through Ipsy, I discovered my favorite brow product (It Cosmetics Universal Brow Pencil), and I discovered the awesomeness that is Bumble and Bumble hair care. The samples tend to be larger in Ipsy bags as well.

are you guys into dolls kill? they’re kinda goth but they have a lot of cute stuff, and their shoes are to die for. they also arrive quickly, my friend’s arrived after only a week - we live in a third world country.
I'm an old, so no, but my offspring has a nice collection of their shoes. Very interesting styles lots of platforms!
Edit to add...

MJ curl pudding is pretty awesome though!

is Dolls Kill decent quality stuff? I would love to get into that kind of style but most of the time I can't afford it. Some of their clearance stuff is really cute. esp the mesh tops..

apparently the package was ugly but effective (clothing came in small plastic bags while the shoes came “loose”), her shoes looked great and had good quality to them. the clothing she ordered were for her mom, i’m asking her rn if they were also good quality

I've ordered a few things from dollskill and everything was fine except for a cardigan thing that was already fuzzy and had a worn out feeling. It's a mix, they have a few different brands including their house brands and other brands like Killstar so quality varies. Overall I would say not amazing but not necessarily bad either.

sorry for the dumb post, but does anyone have eyeshadow applying tips, or at least a good youtube video that helped u out?

Brushes, and eyeshadow primer. I don't really have a preferred primer brand at the moment as I'm currently using an old pot I bought in Europe that's lasting me forever, but Nyx is usually a reliable drugstore price range go-to and theirs has good reviews.

I find that good quality brushes make all the difference in decent eyeshadow application. A tapered blending brush like this one by Elizabeth Mott helps you to achieve the right pigment density blending out from your crease, especially important when you're going for "smoky" eye looks. Not blending properly is how you end up looking like you have panda eyes from the very outset. Crown brushes also do a really nice dual-ended rose gold brush that's only 3 bucks, and is excellent - I use the thicker brush to do my lids, then the narrower one for my crease colour.

Also, apply a tiny bit of highlighter to the inside corner of your eyes, to open them up and make them look bigger/brighter. Just don't use too much or it will look really silly and obvious.

And if you're looking up tutorials, look up ones that are specific to your eye colour and skin tone, as that will make a big difference in how various palettes and colours will look on you. What works on a specific beauty influencer or YouTuber will not necessarily work on you, even assuming perfect application techniques.

I gave myself quarantine bangs after like 10 minutes of googling lol. I figured since I'm chopping it all off soon as I can, it won't matter if if I fuck my shit up. Plus I wanted to see what I'd look like.
they turned out not too bad, could be wider though.

@SAVE TWINKIE! I was just wondering if you had gotten your MAC/Selena stuff yet, and if so, how you're liking it.

So this shit finally arrived. The eyeshadows are much better than I thought (I have fairly low expectations from MAC). The colors are basic which means I"ll actually use it. One of the lipsticks is a frost finish and I knew it was a frost when I bought it, but goddamn it's full of GLITTER it's ridiculous I can't wear this. The other lipstick is nice, it looks brown in the tube but thankfully pulls pink on me (I can't wear brown l/s). I love the 2 lip glasses, knew I would. I'm happy but still wish I got that highlighter uwu

Can someone here show me how to keep my eyes open when I put eyeliner on them? It's unwilling and is a pain in the ass when my eyes shut down when I'm trying my best. Some tips anyone?

Tip your head back a little, so you're kind of looking slightly down your nose into the mirror. It should lower your lids enough to line them while still keeping your eyes open.
