Anyone doing anything fun makeup/clothing-wise for Halloween? I'm going to be working that evening and I can't dress differently, but I bought a cheap unicorn horn headband and I plan on going a little wild with pastel makeup colors and glitter.

Over the past few years, I have been a failure at Halloween. October and November are among some of my busiest months of the year, and I have neglected Halloween altogether for the past few years now (sadly).

Over the Summer, I bought a really stinking cute Captain America Her Universe/Hot Topic dress from the thrift store, and I wore it for a July 4th party. For some reason, I can't find a picture of the dress online (lots of the images I found online are halter top dresses). My dress has cap sleeves, and looks pretty retro/pinup-y. I plan to hand out candy on Thursday, and I might break out the dress and doll my hair up in vintage style curls and victory rolls ... If I feel so inclined. I might be too lazy. We'll see. Seems like a lot of effort for a night at home.

The last time I went all out on Halloween was in 2014-2015. In 2014, I was April O'Neil. In 2015, I was one of the "wives" (the redheaded one) from Mad Max: Fury Road and my husband was Nux (tumors with smiley faces and all). I was proud of those costumes. Hopefully next year I'll finally get back into the holiday.

I'm allowed to wear costumes to work, but it has to be from the store I work at, and they're either too expensive or just garbage and none of them have pockets. I usually love dressing up, but in costumes I make myself, not prefab polyester shit.

As for makeup, I'm one of the few who wears any noticeable amount, so I really haven't been feeling like doing dramatic looks. I got a really excellent black felt tip eyeliner in my new ipsy bag (just subscribed!) so I did a spiderweb eyeliner look one day and got some compliments.

I've always wanted a proper reason to dress up since Mr. Polexia and I don't really do parties and the various theme parks who do Halloween events don't allow costumes. But not being able to wear my own costumes and not really being able to wear my wigs really puts a damper on things.

That maleficent headpiece is amazing dude. I'm the most basic bitch, I'm always a crow or a black cat for halloween. I can't find my crow mask so, cat it is. /ᐠ。‸。ᐟ\

Even if I was creative I don't think I'd go all out. Where I live it's still sort of hot and muggy this time of year. I need to be comfy especially if I'm drunk.

I did notice that Hot Topic lel has a comfy Beetlejuice sandworm costume this year that is fucking KEYUTE. If had seen that earlier I probably would've bought it and I could've carried around my Beetlejuice plushie. Ah well.
I can out basic you. I've proudly worn a onesie for several years now and I offer no apologies. I get to wear it to work and it's the one day a year I get to wear PJ's to work. Worth it. I do get cute with my make up, though. So lets say it's a panda onesie, I'll make my face up. It's easy except for the going to the bathroom part. Having to strip down practically naked in public to pee isn't great, but I've done worse.

Here's my go-to easy orange eye look for fall. From the Colourpop Whatever palette I use the shade Copy Cat all over the top and bottom lid. I use the darker shade Pass it On on the crease to provide some depth. Then I use a pea-green shade from the Morphe 35M Boss Mood palette on my mobile lid. Line, mascara, and done.

Hi everything about this is great. Congrats on your face (what parts of it we can see, that is).

I finally bought some Colourpop and part of why was from rave reviews here! So far I really enjoy what I got. I did the BYOP and chose my favorite shades that I either don't currently have or wanted different versions of. The palette is really appealing to me because it's all colors I like. It's missing neutrals, but that's because I feel I already have those shades I can use from other palettes.
So far, my favorites are a bright pink called Good Manners and a dark green called Conjure Up.

I was wondering if anyone here has tried the Rapunzel Floating Lights blush from Colourpop? I swatched it in store and it looks like the perfect vibrant pale pink for me. Are their blushes as good as the shadows?

The reviews I've read are hit and miss with the good ones being really good and the bad ones being patchy. I really trust the reviews by Temptalia, and she gave this one a good review so I say go for it!

I was at Ulta yesterday and was surprised to see that they had the Disney collection there. I swatched a few of the things I didn't order online, including the Rapunzel blush.

My rundown of all the cheek products in the collection:

Belle blush: I own it, and love it ... But I would only recommend it to light complexions since the color is really light and soft.

Rapunzel blush: Beautiful! Looks pretty, and blends nicely. Only reason why I didn't get it is because I already have a similar blush to it.

Tiana blush: Really disappointing. Thought it would be a nice contour color for me, but it's much more shimmery in person than the pics I saw online and it was patchy. Would probably still look nice as a blush for medium to deep skintones, though.

Esmeralda blush: Beautiful color ... But a little patchy. Not impossible to blend or anything, but it's not as buttery as I'd like.

And all of the highlighters (Cinderella, Giselle, Aurora, and Megara) are BOMB. I already own two of them, and now I want all four. If you have cool skin undertones, I would get the Cinderella highlighter to pair up with the Rapunzel blush. If you have warm skin undertones, go with the Giselle highlighter. And if you just want to be a little fun with your makeup, then get the Megara highlighter (it's a lilac-y purple color). The Aurora highlighter is basically a mashup of the Cinderella and Giselle highlighters ... So it's probably a good middle ground color that would work on most skintones.

Here's my eye look to go with my pink glittery unicorn horn! I used the NYX Ultimate Brights palette for the shadows, then the Makeup Revolution Hot Pursuit pressed glitter palette for the glitter.

Apologies for the potato quality

I've been thinking for my next project I'm gonna make a fantasy style floor length winter cape (I don't like making practical stuff eheh)
I already know I wanna trim it with white fur and 2 rows of this cute white guipure lace I found back to back, with a row of white velvet ribbon in between + white sequin flowers/embellishments.
I just can't decide on a top fabric colour. Kinda feeling these rn but I'm open to other suggestions. Briefly considered deep red but decided it's probably too Santa-y.
Can I get some opinions pls:

I think those would look smashing on a deep midnight blue.

Or cobalt

If you're going to trim it with white fur, I would 100% go with the dusty pink. I think that would look gorgeous.

I can't help but think that would make a badass winter nightgown. I would choose black, but the dusty pink is a great choice too!

Hate to doublepost but I need opinions again D: ever since StrawberryDouche suggested blue I can't get it out of my mind.. that midnight blue was perfect.. problem is I need a 7 or 8yd roll so 25 buxx a yard is a bit steep for me. Plus I want something quite heavy with no stretch so I spent a few hours browsing wholesale upholstery fabric sellers on eBay and here's what I found:

  1. IMG_20191105_030155.jpg

  2. IMG_20191105_030312.jpg

  3. IMG_20191105_030249.jpg
1 is the least expensive (auction is at like 5 bucks for over 10yards) but looks like it's the worst quality one. 3 is the most expensive (60 bucks for 8yards).
Picturing it with a matching headpiece for an Ice Queen look. Like this one I made out of cable ties.. only with white or blue flowers and instead of pearls on the tips have lil star-shaped gems or snowflakes.
