Just got the Bye Bye Birdie palette:

Heron Chic looks wonderful especially even if the name did make me audibly groan. I've still not tried colourpop and I'm down between this and sweet talk for when I get off my ass and do, unless they magically have more than half their byop shades in stock when the mood hits.

That's a gorgeous palette, we need a full review. I'm already in love with Emuse for a night out and the combo of Boo Bird, Fly By Night, and Plumage looks like it'd be perfect.

It's a keeper! The shades are soft, pigmented, and the mattes blend easily. Two of the shades, Boo Bird and Fly by Night are a matte base but have very fine glitter shot through. On the eye though, they come off matte. I'm not keen on the pressed glitter shades, but that's more personal preference. I'm too old for glitter.

On the whole, I like it a lot and I'm glad to have it. It would look good on any eye color, but I think it would look especially good on green or hazel eyes.

Here's my eye look to go with my pink glittery unicorn horn! I used the NYX Ultimate Brights palette for the shadows, then the Makeup Revolution Hot Pursuit pressed glitter palette for the glitter.

Apologies for the potato quality

So do you wear this kind of makeup everyday? That's something i always wondered about American beauty blogger style makeup.

I bought an I Heart Revolution donut palette at Ulta. It was on clearance, my ipsy bag kinda sucked this month, I needed a travel palette, and I am a sucker for gimmick and packaging.

The one I bought was Strawberry Sprinkles. The shades are pinker than I like to wear; it looked like reddish-pink to me, but after some wear, it just looks almost Barbie hot pink.

I wish they had had the chocolate one, but they only had blueberry, lemon, and strawberry.

The arm is not mine.

Última edición:
Broke down and did another ColourPop order once I saw the Going Coconuts collection. Had to get the eyeshadow palette and the super shock eyeshadows from that collection once I saw them.

I'm especially excited for the eyeshadow palette. It may be a "basic bitch" palette since it's all neutrals ... But damn, that color story is gorgeous. I've been looking everywhere for a neutrals palette that wasn't warm-toned. With my complexion, some neutral eyeshadows can lean a bit too warm/orangey on me ... So I'm excited for this palette. I know I'm going to use the heck out of it.

I might do a Black Friday order as well. We'll see. I just saw the new Frozen II collection on the site, and there are a couple of things that caught my eye. The Elsa eyeshadow palette has a colorful, yet cohesive and wearable color story. The burgundys and the pops of blue, silver, and lavender are really eye-catching when seen together in the same palette, in my opinion. The Anna palette is beautiful as well ... But it's a color story we've all seen before, I think. I definitely prefer the Elsa palette, and I really want it.

I'm eyeing that coconuts palette too, please update 😘 (even though for $12 i'm probably just gonna get it regardless)

I'm also considering the truly madly deeply palette, which oddly looks a lot like the kat von d 'lolita por vida' palette

I will never understand why Ulta has 5 or more variations of this palette on their shelves, yet keep other, better I Heart Revolution palettes online-only or just wholly don't stock them. Their I Heart Strawberry Cheesecake is the only palette I own anymore since it's so useful (at least for me). Don't care for the smell, but it's very versatile and isn't as in-your-face PINK! as it seems. A few of their others are better, too. Maybe it's the cutesy doughnut thing? I dunno, I don't get it.

I checked another store for the chocolate donut and they didn't have any at all, only the mini versions of those chocolate bar palettes. I tried finding the regular i heart revolution section but it was not a store I was familiar with and alas I had to leave to go to work before finding it.

I should have snapped up the mini Juvias "Nubian" when I had the chance as that is my go-to palette. I saw it in ulta's little impulse kiosk once when I was dead broke, and never have again.

Edit: speaking of Juvias, I think their palest foundation is, for once, paler than me. I'm always looking to try new brands and the price ain't bad. When I have more time I might try to see if one of their foundations will work for me. Ipsy sent me one this month but it's fucking orange and I'm no Clyde Cash..

Im after a pretty good primer for using with glitter eyeshadows, my best bet at the moment is the UD priming potion but I don't really want to part with that much cash, does anyone use a cheap one that they would recommend? I used the nyx one and I thought that one was complete shit.

Ty :-)

I got Juvia's Nubian palette on Black Friday last year for 11 bucks, and it's the full sized one. So hold off until next week and I'm sure you'll be able to get whatever you want for like 50% off.

edit: oh my lord, I just saw they have Nubian 3 and it's so pretty.

Oh good lawd, I love me some Juvia's Place. The Warrior 1 palette is amazing.

I use the UD Priming Potion; been using it consistently for about 10 years now (I'm one of those people who will stay loyal to a product I love for as long as I can).

Other primers I've seen people use are Too Faced and MAC's Painterly Paint Pot (and they're within the same price range as UD). However, for glitter eyeshadows specifically, I recommend finding some type of glitter glue for super long wear. I've heard that NYX makes a pretty good glitter glue, and NYX tends to be on the cheaper side.

Hope that helps!

Just got it in the mail about an hour ago! And I've played with it a little bit.

First impressions are that the 3 metallic colors are a little flakey, so there might be some fallout ... But it's not that bad. I bet that if you apply them with a wet/damp brush, that will fix the situation just fine.

The matte shades are great. Granted, all of these colors are ones we've all seen before in millions of eyeshadow palettes ... But they're colors everyone needs in their makeup arsenal, so it's nice to have them all in one convenient little palette.

This is definitely going to be an everyday/go-to palette, and there's no question that I will travel with it in the future. This palette, some brown eyeliner, and mascara are ALL I would need for a quick, neutral, pretty eye look. It's essentially ColourPop's answer to those Urban Decay "Naked Basics" mini-palettes ... Except it has more colors and is significantly cheaper.

NYX glitter glue is awesome!! I’ve tried several eyeshadow primers and the only one that I love and feel like truly makes a huge difference is UD primer potion. I was in despair over some Pat McGrath shimmers creasing and wearing off, even over cheap primers, but the UD completely solved that. It’ll hold those shadows in place for DAYS.

You guys convinced me to get the coconuts palette from ColourPop. Neutral looks are always good to have. I got the smoke show palette as well for a darker look. @US Marine Hyde thank you for the primer recommendation.
