I haven't even made the mid-tier thing (VIB?) at sephora for like two years, nevermind Rouge. I'm throwing my money away at Ulta now :smug:

The stores aren't as nice but they're just better. The reward system is better, they have brands sephora doesn't have, etc. It's nice to earn points on drug store shit ya know.

I know that Ulta now uses Lasership, but if they ever get around to having a shipping subscription like Sephora has, I would never purchase from Sephora again.

I had a bit of a rough start on KF, but here's a thread I can finally enjoy posting in.

I studied clothing and design in high school (graduated this year) and am hoping to eventually get into some school of design.

I enjoy wearing black lipstick, earrings and even the occasional goth getup. I wear reading glasses as well. Considering the demographics of the school I went to it really makes me stick out ike a sore thumb. But being different is my thing!
this one has been powerlevelling all over the shop... halal soon?

I thought to throw out a question or two since I’ve been doing some research on the concept, but it’s nice to get some recommendations too. Hear any success and experiences.

Not exactly makeup, more so skincare: what kinda supplements have any of you tried? I’m considering taking this branded one by Natural Factors called BioSil, since it’s supposed to help with producing collagen. Not that I’m NEEDING it, but nice to have some of that prevention going on.

I’ve been taking collagen orally through pills and liquid, since it’s generally good for just keeping joints all lubed up, so there is some benefit regardless. Any specific brands or combinations of supplements that come to mind?

Collagen is a protein. The body treats all proteins exactly the same way. It doesn't say "oh, this is collagen, it goes to the joints and skin!" There's very little to no evidence that collagen supplements do anything at all, and a few science based medical sites have debunked these types of claims. That's not to say it can't or doesn't have a placebo effect, and if you feel it's helping you, maybe it is.

I hope that didn't sound bitchy, lol.

Anyone else follow the curly girl Method?
I just started last week. What a nightmare. Haven't given up yet, though.
I’ve been following the curly girl method for a couple years. I was shocked at how well it works, but it does work. My hair looks better and is way more manageable than it was before. I suspect how damaged one’s hair is when she begins will dictate how long it will take to notice a change. It also was very helpful finding a stylist who specializes in curly hair.

You guys know where I can buy dark mori fashion online? I recently discovered it and it really fits my aesthetic
H naoto gramm. I've seen some things at demobaza (expensive) and some random gothic lolita/jfashion brands I can't remember. Also h&m has had some things that worked. Since it's all about layering different dark clothes and knits you can find suitable things a lot of different places. Look for anything black or grey, asymmetric, knit, frayed. My style leans more toward strega though

I know you said online, but thrift stores really can be your best friend. Thrift stores and fabric dye if you don't find what you want in the correct shades. Looking at examples online, I see stuff that could easily work at my local thrift stores allllll the time. And it might fit the aesthetic better to have mixed pieces rather than perfect pre-bought coords.

I feel like the extra moisture is really helping my hair (which was really dry but not otherwise heat- or chemical-treated) and when I get out of the shower I have little ringlets, but as soon as I start fussing with it, like touching it with a microfiber towel, putting in gel (and forget scrunching!), it turns into stringy frizzy hair. This morning I didn't S2C or put in gel or scrunch, just co-wash and some leave in, and it feels pretty nice, isn't frizzy, and I have little curlicues framing my face but my hair is just curling at the ends. It's fairly long and heavy, so I'm hoping a chop this weekend (just at my regular salon; saving the DevaCut until after I get the hang of it) will help.

Don’t use a microfiber towel, use a t-shirt. The t-shirt causes much less friction on your hair, reducing the amount of frizz caused by the towel. I don’t use the t-shirt to shake my hair. I just sort of plop it on my head to soak up the excess water while I’m drying off. The more you put you hands on or mess with your hair, the more frizzy it becomes. I definitely recommend the Deva Curl products. They have such a wide range of product types that you’ll likely find the right product for your hair. Plus, they have travel sizes of most of their products, so you don’t have to buy a full size just to try it.

I did the curly girl for six months, used a tee shirt to dry, air dry only (which meant all day) pineapple, silk scarves and pillow cases. Never managed to achieve anything but frizz. Now it’s long, close to waist length and the heaviness has helped. (Can’t put it up for long without headaches though) But the only thing I can do is blow dry it and flat iron, I can’t let it be natural without looking like a Halloween witch. . I love my curly hair but tbh, it isn’t really curly, it’s frizzy. So I gave up. Good luck to all those who work it tho. My sister who can get those pretty curls found some magic grail Shea product. I forget what it’s is,,I’ll ask her if anybody is curious.

I've been doing the curly girl method for over ten years. It took some trial and error, but now I've got a routine that works. I love DevaCurl and Ouidad products the best, but if you are on more of a budget, I've also had pretty good luck with Frizz-Ease, Shea Moisture, and Carol's Daughter products. I recently discovered Oyin Hair Dew leave in conditioner, and it's becoming a new favorite.

My biggest tips would be to never brush, always use a wide-tooth comb, air dry whenever possible, and condition like crazy. Also, once your hair is styled, touch it as little as possible.

I let my (straight) hair air dry, is that awful?

Got some cute shoes at the thrift store today, and also some fabric. There's not enough to make anything really big but I'll still enjoy doing something with it.

Try ebay for some secondhand AllSaints dresses maybe some of their older stuff would work:

Did anyone do a Sephora haul with the 20%-15% coupon? I picked up some staples and some recommendations from my fav IG MUA.

I’ve been going back and forth about buying some things for the entire sale. For some reason I thought 15% off was for insiders and 20% was for VIB/Rouge, so I was a little pissed that I’d only get 15%. I don’t know if it’s worth it at that discount, but either way... I’m really tempted by some Chloé perfume roller balls and the new Guerlain l’Essentiel foundation. But I’ve held off so far!
