Hey guys, I figured you would be the best place for skincare advice.
I've had a bad skin condition since before I can remember, bad enough to have to use potent topical corticosteroids since I was small. Don't need em anymore though, remission is great.
Feel free to rate me tmi if that's too much info lmao.

Basically I fucked my skin up with strong medicated creams because my skin was fucked up and now the shit has aged and thinned my skin and I care now.
I'm wondering since I already look a bit older than I am, what kind of skincare products should I be using to hopefully slow that down a bit? (Am anglo so preferably not American only products? Customs sucks.)

I've also become a bit of an autist for Korean skincare and the like as well (because skin first, makeup later is always a good philosophy). There's a UK online store now (https://pureseoul.co.uk) that allows me get my paws on korean cosmetics and skincare without re-tarded markups (like, the markups are there, but not as bad as other sites) and no worry about customs trying to take my money.
I recently got an etude house palette from there and I like the little goodies they sent with the order (masks and little cleanser pouches.)
Only downside is the palette had one bit(shade?) Of eyeshadow messed up in delivery, so make sure to check everything after you get it. Couriers sure like to throw your shit around.

I'm getting a keratin smoothing hair treatment on monday, as a little treat to myself before the semester starts up again. It was that or a perm. I could have gone for the perm but the keratin treatment looks more "natural" as it wears off. I'd think go crazy having pin straight permed hair with scraggly new hairs poking out.

There's a lot of online K-Beauty shops that deliver to Europe these days if you're looking for more selection (Jolse is my go-to). There's also at least two K-Beauty books available that are really informative about the whole movement which is what I recommend to people who really want to deep dive into it and get their skin healthy especially after going through what you did with your skin when you were younger. Overuse of cortisoids can cause significant skin thinning and damage so I'd work on your moisture barrier and get some nice ceramide rich products and really baby your skin with several layers of hydration and lock it all in with an occlusive at night. Hope that info helps and good luck with your skin!

Thanks for the pointers!

Question for people from England: do university students dress really nicely or something? I've seen multiple posts on r/femalefashionadvice worrying about not having nice enough clothes for uni, or needing a whole new wardrobe. I don't get it.
Yeah you get a lot of people who want to show off, like people care you're wearing Gucci to your lecture...

In America you wear your own clothes to education all your life really, so wearing what you want to wear is still kind of fresh, since you only got to do that for 2 years of college :-)

This makes me wonder if American universities where a high percentage of students went to Catholic school have more people dressed up. Although based on the people I know who went to Catholic school I doubt it.

Yeah. When you make students wear uniforms for all through school, and have relatively strict dress codes for Sixth Form, you do generally get a lot of students anxious about what to wear to uni, so many dress up.

I recently got my hands on Tarte Shape Tape concealer and it’s genuinely the best I’ve ever used. I also got my hands on Lunar Beauty Strawberry Dream palette (I couldn’t give 2 shits about social media make up drama. If it’s pretty I’ll buy it) the colours are gorgeous but a little disappointed that it’s perfumed. The last perfumed palette I got was a Too Faced one and it made my eyes water.

I got my keratin treatment today, I love it! Except not being able to put my hair up for 3 days will be a pain. Also avoiding wetting my hair while washing my face is going to be an ordeal.

Did anyone do a Sephora haul with the 20%-15% coupon? I picked up some staples and some recommendations from my fav IG MUA.
I topped off my supply of UD setting spray and everyday moisturizers. I hit Rouge this year by early June, so I didn't need to be spending on anything but the restock essentials.

I've been VIB Rouge for two years in a row and I'm disgusted with myself :lit:
My package arrived yesterday and I was really shocked at how small the Surratt blush I ordered was. I also got a Tom Ford emotion proof cream shadow that I have high hopes for, I plan on playing around with that today.

I haven't even made the mid-tier thing (VIB?) at sephora for like two years, nevermind Rouge. I'm throwing my money away at Ulta now :smug:

The stores aren't as nice but they're just better. The reward system is better, they have brands sephora doesn't have, etc. It's nice to earn points on drug store shit ya know.

I had a bit of a rough start on KF, but here's a thread I can finally enjoy posting in.

I studied clothing and design in high school (graduated this year) and am hoping to eventually get into some school of design.

I enjoy wearing black lipstick and nail polish, earrings and even the occasional goth getup. I wear reading glasses as well. Considering the demographics of the school I went to it really makes me stick out ike a sore thumb. But being different is my thing!
