@StarkRavingMad i was wondering if you've ever tried Wet n Wild's liquid lipsticks, the catsuit line in particular. And if yes, how do they compare to the Ulta cheapie liquid lipsticks?

I haven't tried Wet n Wild anything for the longest time. Oddly enough, the Target that is near me doesn't sell WnW stuff, and that's where I typically go for my "drugstore makeup" finds.

I really do dig the Ulta lippies though. Granted, the only ones I have tried have been from a limited edition collection (so the formula may be different), but I was impressed enough to want to try their regular line of liquid lipsticks.

Reporting back on the BB Cream situation:

Been wearing the Holika Holika "Aqua Petit Jelly" BB Cream for about 10 hours now. Makeup needs a little bit of blotting, but the makeup itself doesn't look try or patchy. It looks great, actually! Doesn't feel too heavy either. So far, I'm loving it.

Just for full clarification, NO semipermanent color (Splat, Manic Panic, Iroiro, Special FX, Overtone, Ion Brights, Good Dye Young, etc.) will lighten your hair. It only deposits over your pre-existing hair color. Like a watercolor paint. No developer/bleach, no lightening.
I read this as she just wants to maintain the color, not use it to dye it. Like keep it from washing out as much

Depending on the color there are other options, there are many different purple shampoos and some blue ones for people with platinum or silver hair, though they also work somewhat for purple and blue hair.
For pink, green or others I don't know of other brands, but many people will mix a tiny amount of dye into their regular conditioner. There are arguments against this, just saying it's an option. I did it and it worked great for keeping color longer.

Última edición:
Anyone used the Overtone hair conditioner? Thinking about dyeing my hair and that seems like a good way to keep color for a bit after the appointment, but at $30 a pop I'm reluctant to just buy it without recommendations
I use overtone for my hair, and I'm pretty happy with it. I only buy the deep conditioner instead of the daily one, and sometimes I leave it in for up to 45 minutes depending on how faded my hair is. The only thing I don't like about it is that it has a strong mint smell to it.

Oh no...is it like a peppermint-y smell? I've been thinking of trying overtone and I'm allergic to peppermint, so if it's even a little peppermint oil...

I bought a liquid lipstick from Colourpop and it’s probably one of the best I ever tried (it’s drying but I don’t feel like it’s uncomfortable).

This is the shade I tried. It’s a bit too dark for a nude (since I am pale) but it’s a gorgeous color.

Their skincare line is not too bad either.

Update #2 on the BB Cream situation: I tried the Missha M "Perfect Cover BB Cream" over the weekend, and dare I say, I love it even more than the Holika Holika one. It's long wearing, but feels light, doesn't smell like chemicals, has a shitton of SPF in it, and my skin has reacted insanely well to it (no breakouts whatsoever).

I've been sleeping on BB Cream all of this time, and I'm ashamed of myself now. This stuff is amaaaaazing.

ColourPop is pretty much my new favorite brand of makeup. I got a lot of stuff from the Disney Princess Designer Collection, and I love every single item I got. I'm aware that a lot of beauty YouTubers shat on that collection because "It has too many neutrals," but really ... Those people were bored with it because they hoard makeup. lol. That collection has been in my regular makeup routine for over six months now, with no signs of slowing down because I love the products so much.

The Super Shock Eyeshadows are everything, btw! Yesterday, I did a really summery eye look with the "Under the Sea" Super Shock shadow, which is a seafoam color with gold sparkles, and I ended up wearing the "Ariel" lipstick (which is one of the prettiest nude lip colors I've ever worn). I am terrified of wearing colorful eye makeup, but I was really feeling my eye makeup yesterday. I felt pretty! Haha.

I've been wanting to try their skincare and their liquid lipsticks. Good to see that you have a positive reaction to them! And the color you got is super pretty!

I got this skirt at Uniqlo today for 10 dollars!

Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent hair damage when using a hair straightener? I really want to straighten my hair but I don't want to damage it :(
Use an effective thermal protectant, every single time. eva NYC makes a 10-in-1 hair primer that works nicely for me but I don't know what kind of hair you have so I can't say. Also look into aftercare products like damage repair masks. Make sure your hair is well moisturized by your regular shampoo, conditioner, etc.
Try to limit your straightening to once or twice a week maximum.
If you are not Black and don't have very thick or curly hair, use a ceramic iron and start on the lowest heat setting. If you are Black or have very thick or curly hair, use a ceramic-titanium blend and again start it on the lowest setting. If you MUST use a titanium iron (not blend) then exclusively use the lowest setting.

I grew up with naturally wavy and fine hair and frizz was a daily issue for me, so I used to straighten my hair a LOT. I still do every so often. Here are some of my tips:

1. Heat protectant sprays are a must before ironing. Tresemme makes a great one that I've been using for over a decade now.

2. Don't use the highest temperature setting on the iron. I know it's tempting, because it makes the process go faster, but trust me on this one.

3. Use conditioner whenever you wash your hair.

4. Leave in hair oils/serums are your friend. Lots of brands have some great hair oils. I'm currently using a Pantene Pro-V one that's loaded with argan oil, and it's been making my hair feel really nice. I sometimes use a tiny amount of oil after I straighten my hair just to give it a bit of shine, and I think it makes my hair feel really nice and not dry at all.

5. Get a haircut every 3-4 months. This should apply to everyone who wants healthy looking hair, but if you use any heat on your hair, getting it cut every so often helps prevent split/damaged ends from getting out of control.

It's spearmint, but I would still steer clear of it if you're allergic to any sort of mint. It's too expensive to buy and then suddenly discover you're allergic to it.

Oof. I'm fine with spearmint, but you're right, avoiding is probably the right call. Although I do know you can buy smaller sample sizes...

I have the Jasmine (that got sent to me but they let me keep it) and the Tiana sets for the Disney Designer collection. The eyeshadow shades are beautiful but I am not too crazy on the luxe lipstick for Jasmine (bright pink is not something that looks good on me).

I prefer the pressed shades over the Super Shock personally (I got this palette and I really love it).

And speaking of BB creams, I found the Missha Perfect Cover one on Amazon for nine bucks and I ordered it yesterday. Hope I'll like it!

I have all of the lipsticks from the collection, because I got the wrong order (and ColourPop let me keep it). I originally just wanted the Ariel, Belle, and Snow White lipsticks, but then I ended up with all of them by accident, haha. The Tiana lipstick is pretty vampy on me (but I like it-- wore it a lot this past Winter), and the Cinderella and Jasmine lipsticks are colors I never gravitate towards (bubblegum pink and hot pink) ... But I actually ended up loving how they looked on me. For me personally, all of the lipsticks luckily happened to be home runs.

I have four of the Supershock Eyeshadows from the collection, and my favorites are the Cinderella one and the Tiana one (the Tiana one is SO gorgeous). And the only ColourPop palette I own is the Disney Princess one ... But I love it. I totally plan on picking up more palettes in the future.

And I hope you like the BB Cream!

I should really get the Ariel and Belle lipsticks at some point, but I have been looking more into liquid lipsticks (at least a color that won't look super dark on me). I really would like to try to blotted liquid lipsticks since I think they would more natural.

The Super Shocks for the Disney collection are gorgeous, especially "A Whole New World".

Absolutely. Their lux lipsticks are pretty good, however. The shade Still Crazy is gorgeous. I'm usually a MAC-lipstick-only gal, but Colourpop's lux lipsticks are great for the price.

I had one in their shade "Third Eye" and it was completely wonderful. Except it broke and I have to get another one. :(

has anyone had permanent hair straightening done? I'm considering doing it after letting my uneven straggly hairs grow a bit longer. I have a straightening brush which works pretty well but I just hate styling my hair tbh.
