There is a new line called The Ordinary sold at Beautylish. They have a caffeine serum that is supposed to be great at dealing with puffy eyes. It's a problem I have too. They were sold out almost instantly but hopefully will restock soon. Might be worth a look. I bought a few of their other serums and primers. Not expensive at all.

Perfume is my jam. Mostly florals. I rediscovered Ysatis by Givenchy recently-wore it in the past and forgot about it. Just bought a bottle (it's not expensive) Still love it. I also regularly wear Dior's Jadore, Jean Patou's Joy, Hermes elixer de Marseilles, Genttiane Blanche, and Rose Ikebana. Out of the Hermes, I'd say the Rose is my favorite, it's so delicate and yet still has that "Hermes" scent if you know what I mean. I also have another Givanchy, Irristible, which smells like grapes to me. The Joy was another fav from long ago. It no longer mixes as well with my body chemistry but I still love it. It's one of those Grandma perfumes, but I really think that with perfume there is no age, just memories.

I do like the lighter Philosophy scents too, Grace is my fav. And, my go to summer scent when I just want to freshen up is 4711. I live in a hot climate so I just splash it everywhere to cool off and it dries down to a light citrus scent. It's a hundred year old product, made in Germany and only about 15 bucks. . It's for men and women.

I bought a perfume at Nordstom and got 26 samples with it! Some of the Replica scents are in it so I'll try them. Those you mix and match?

I have heard Chloe's Rose is nice but I haven't been able to find it anywhere to try.

I could talk about perfume all day. If I was wealthy I'd have one of those lighted walks with different scents on it-and somebody else to dust the bottles! .

Roses de Chloe is nice. I have a few sample vials of it, and I keep thinking I need to get an actual bottle.

The Givanchy Ysatis is the one perfume that really lasts on me and smells the same as when I put it on. (The Hermes Elixir does Marveilles does too) Main note of Ysatis is tuberose, which I often don't like and which can even give me a headache, but not in this formulation. You can also smell the jasmine very well. I'm not one who can smell aldehydes or civit or whatever like others can but the floral is distinct and not cheap. On me. .

I think it was invented in the 80s and it's not really popular-I don't see it in Sephora or anywhere, never get samples of it, but if you like florals and have a chance to try it, I recommend. I hope it doesn't disappear!

I honestly can't remember if I've smelled Ysatis or not. I have a bunch of decants from The Perfumed Court and Posh Peasant and I don't know if that's one of them. I'm a fan of Givenchy in general, though.

Look through and if you have it, let me know what you think. It's an assertive, bold, floral perfume, but I keep turning to it as one of my favorites.

For day, I spray and walk through the mist. For evening, it goes directly on - its long lasting either way.

I second the Chloe rose perfume. It's really nice!

I like Marc Jacob's "Lola" too. You can find it at TJ Maxx/Winners/Marshall's. I even saw them being cleared out at Costco. It's definitely one of the more older fragrances in the Marc Jacobs line, which in my opinion is a bit too "young" in the scent selection if that makes any sense.

I like just the smell of rosewater. I'm really happy with the Face Shop perfume gel, but is there a perfume that smells like rosewater?

It does make sense. (I think) I like an older perfume scent too, more the classics. The newer ones seem overly sweet and generic. I can even say the generic part about my J'adore, although it's a nice daily perfume.

Today I have a nice Burberry floral I had a sample of, called My Burberry Black and it's got that classic scent. It's an oriental floral, with Jasmine and patchouli. More of a wintery scent though.

I still haven't found that perfect rose perfume. I like rose water and use it as a facial spray and there are some eye de toilletes in rose that are nice. But for a perfume, I want something lingering. Joy is a rose floral but still missing that pure rose quality I'm looking for. I think I just want to smell like a yellow rose grown in 1908, before the smell was bred out of them. .

There is a Jo Malone perfume called Red Roses that is supposedly made up of 7 types of roses. Again, I haven't seen this brand in my local Nordstrom and I really hate to buy without trying.

I've tried Vicktor Rolf flower bomb and do not like. With that name, I should!

Seems like these days all modern perfumes are named after singers and smell like candy. Maybe I'm getting old! That said, I don't really like Chanel 5 or Guerlains perfume or some of the classics.

As for The Ordinary, what did you get? I have Buffet, and the Matrixyl 10 and two primers and don't smell anything! I do want to get the caffeine one when it's back in stock.

@DatBepisTho The brand 100% Pure has a coffee bean caffeine eye cream that I think takes away any under eye issues. The tube says for dark circles and puffiness. Truthfully, I don't have dark circles but I think it can do away with some puffiness.

TonyMoly has this tube (it looks like short, fat lip balm or glue stick) from they're Panda's Dream line. The tube (and other things in the range) looks like a panda. It has menthol in it that's supposed to take care of under eye concerns. I'm a little less confident in Panda, though. I think it may have lost effectiveness by the time I finished the tube. It's a nifty product, you roll it up like a lipstick and rub it under your eyes like applying said lipstick. Honestly, half the reason I bought the Panda was because the packaging is cute as hell and something I like having as a decoration.

If you're just looking for something to conceal, the Panda's Magic Dream White Magic (also shaped like a panda, but in a shorter, round container... that looks like a panda) is a great whitener that might dull dark circles. I've just found the cream can be finicky and it can make you oily. But if it's just under your eyes I don't think it'll be as big an issue.

I think the cream works better, but then again I wear glasses and only put it on in the morning. So maybe if you reapply the Panda once in a while on your shift it'll work better. Just don't go overboard. A swipe or two under each eye is enough at a time or else it'll feel sticky.

You didn't mention what you are willing to pay...but in my experience, Viseart has an amazing color payoff and are highly blendable. You can get small palettes in neutrals with six colors-three shimmer, three not, for 45.00. Yes, expensive but I'm a makeup junkie and have a lot, and it's now the one I pull out daily.

Cheaper is the Becca palettes, which are also nice and don't have much fall-out and blend well. Equally is the Naked basics but lots of fallout with them.

For cheap, I like Jesses girl. I have the purple and green palettes and get good color payoff and blendability.

I use a Mac painterly as a primer.

Totally agree with everything Barbarella said. Viseart is a consistently good brand, although it is a bit pricey if that's a problem for you. They make a wonderful palette called the Theory Palette, which has a lot of warm-toned neutrals and it's much cheaper than their other palettes (I think $40 or so). I also agree with using MAC Painterly - it's a great base for shadows. I have gotten in the habit, though, of just using my concealer and some powder over top. So if you didn't wanna spend extra on a base, you could just use concealer and powder. Works like a dream for me!

I'd highly recommend MAC single shadows. I don't know how you apply your shadows, but I tend to only use two or three at most at a time, and I don't vary widely in the range of colors I use so singles work well for me. You can easily go to a MAC counter if there's one around and swatch colors to figure out what you're looking for as their shade range can be super intimidating while shopping online! Good luck!

As a graveyard shift worker, I need some serious shit that will depuff and do away with dark circles.
Any suggestions? Right now I'm using a product through Garnier but it doesn't do much for the dark circles.

It's pricey, but the Youngblood Eye Impact Quick Recovery eye cream is pretty much the only thing I ever used that helped with my dark circles... I tend to look like I have two black eyes at all times and I have a lot of imflammation because of my allergies, and this stuff helped with both.

I never had luck with Wet N' Wild but I like the Maybelline Color Studio quads alright for drugstore stuff. I got one by Revlon as well that I like to keep in my emergency makeup bag, for those shit-I-forgot-my-stuff days.

I'll second (third?) the recommendations for NYX and the Naked Basics palettes. And personally, I prefer to invest in my primer, so I use the Urban Decay Primer Potion in "Minor Sin". I like that one cos if I'm just doing eyeliner, I look more "done" since it's got a light shimmer to it.

Side note: I am super-excited that UD brought back the Primer Potion shade "Sin"! It's the prettiest, most flattering color on me and as much as I like "Minor Sin" I'll definitely be switching when I run out.

Also, I got a couple of samples from Sephora a few days ago, because I've been trying to figure out what to do with my skincare, I've been having so many issues. I tried the Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Cream and I loved it, but it pulls SO DARK on my skin... It was otherwise perfect and I would have picked it up if not for that. I also tried the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Gel-Cream and the Cicapair Tiger Grass cream, and I like them quite a bit. I want to try both long-term, and when I run out of my night moisturizer, I will.

I did, however, get to pick up a compact of the Sephora Matte Perfection on Friday, because the mall I was working in that day was in a very affluent part of town and they had literally ALL of the Sephora collection there. I'm so happy, I don't have to order my shade anymore, I can just go over there and get it! And, because I got my tax return, I splurged and got a Bite Beauty Prismatic Pearl lip gloss in "Oyster Pearl" because I saw it and it was just too pretty to pass up... A taupe base with silver and aqua shimmer and sparkle? Yes, please! I want to track down "Peacock Pearl" as well, the swatches look amazing.

I have not! To be honest, I've tiptoed over the idea of getting the Basics palette for awhile (I think I have a gift card somewhere around here). Will definitely give Nyx a shot!

You know, I was tempted to try that (with my foundation, not my concealer), but was afraid I was making a makeup no-no-- at any rate, I gave it a shot today thanks to you and was pretty pleased! It definitely made things more noticeable, though I'm still going to try out some other eyeshadow palettes-- one of my friends has always hyped MAC and I've been curious.

I'm like you and usually don't go for more than two shades on my eye since, well, there's not a whole lot more space between the top of my eye and my brow than my creepy avatar's.

Ok so I've been completely converted to Formula 10.0.6 fanaticism...my skin is looking SO much better!

But I also have to mention another product. A girlfriend of mine wanted to do "mud masks" for girls' night so I picked up a pot of a Loreal clay mask. There are currently 3 colors: red, black, and green. I got the green one, "purifying and mattifying". I figured it was probably the most gentle, and for 9.99 I didn't want to get all three.

Holy crap, do I love that stuff. I've got a fondness for clay/mud masks anyway and this mask is excellent. I moisturized my face with a 10.0.6 moisturizer after using it and so much of the redness on my face was gone. It made my skin feel so soft and smooth and it just looked so much better. I'm trying to not overdo it of course, but between my 10.0.6 regimen and that clay mask...I smile when I look in the mirror without makeup now!

I'm glad it worked out for you! I'm someone who likes as few steps as possible and while I love a good primer, if I can skip it I'd be happier. My whole thing with makeup is that there are few hard and fast rules, and whatever makes it easier is gonna be a good thing haha. Also, I'd steer clear of MAC palettes because I find they're not the same quality as the singles, although maybe someone else has a different experience. But the singles are wonderful! You can get them in either their own little single container with a lid or in a pan for putting in Z palettes or some other magnetic palette.

I really need to figure out how to fill them in and keep the natural look, I've had zero luck with pencils. I want to order some of the Anastasia brow powder but money is a little tight right now and I can't afford to trial and error with color.

What you should do, is go to a drug store and buy a cheap wax/powder set, decent angled brush, and a set of stencils. Play with it a bit until you're comfortable with your skills before you buy something more pricey.

I have a Hard Candy powder & wax set from Walmart that I use when I'm just going to the grocery store or to a friend's house - it works just fine and I get to save my expensive brow kit for nicer outings.
