Thanks for the heads up! I might totally need to check into that. I don't have terrible acne, but I feel like the bit that I do get is ridiculous at this point in my life, and my pores are way too large. They've started selling Differin over the counter, so I'm trying that right now.
I feel you. I have cystic acne so I'm super pumped to get the new med.

Also, if you do decide to look into curology, they're currently running a promo for a free shipment (90 day supply but they bill monthly for whatever reason, so the first month is free, and you get a 90 day supply. it's weird.) That's why I signed up for the trial--you only pay shipping for the first month (it's like $5 for shipping) and after the trial, it's $20 per month. Not bad if you're like me and use two or more prescription acne meds, which is about equal the cost of the monthly sub.

Does anyone have recommendations for a metallic or frosted lipstick? Preferably red/berry/wine.
Too Faced's melted metallic liquid lipsticks (holy shit, dem alliterations) are pretty good. Not necessarily super long-wearing, but they're very comfortable and non-drying.

Do they transfer a lot (i.e. teeth, etc.)? I tend to go from perfectly applied to OH GOD LIPOCALYPSE in not very long.

It depends on which color you're using. The nudes and reds don't transfer, but the pinks and purples usually have a bit.

If you're worried about transferring, you can always place a tissue on your lips and brush a little translucent setting powder to help lock it down.

Perfect. Thank you! :heart-full:

I also like CeraVe eye cream. It works nicely and doesn't cost a million bajillion dollars like most eye serums.

Seriously, what the hell do they put in there to justify charging $40+ for a little tube of goop?

It depends on the product line. I've tested several products that I'm just like "pfft where do they get off" but then there are other products that I'll gladly pay for.

Like, I used to use this eye cream from a line we carried at my old job, and I would NEVER pay retail for that shit. I only used it cos I got it with an employee discount off of wholesale. On the other hand, this eye cream I'm using now? Worth every penny. I'll pay for anything that makes my eyelids go from feeling like sandpaper to feeling like normal, healthy eyelids.

How do you nerds take care of your hair? I've got hip-length hair, so I shower daily and use shampoo and conditioner, then brushing, and then I let it air dry. I used to blow-dry a lot, but it dries your hair out, so now I only do it if I'm in a hurry.

If you got nothing to do one day and can afford the extra time in the shower try drenching your hair in argan oil or coconut oil and letting it sit for awhile before washing it out. It leaves my hair extra soft for about a week even though I wash it everyday.

Also I'm a big fan of the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioning once a week or so. A small amount of Argan oil is also a pretty cool idea for everyday use.

My favorite lipstick that meets the brief on this one is Kat Von D Studded Kiss in Wolvesmouth. Agree with @Blake Bumbleby that the Melted Metals are a good formula, but all the ones I have are lighter colors. Bite had these lipstick duos that came out at Christmas and are still on sale where one side is a solid lip color and the other is a metallic topper. That might be worth looking into. It's an easy way to get a metallic finish on already existing lipsticks. I bought all of them, because I possess absolutely no chill, but there is one that is red with a gold topper.

My regimen is probably different compared to a lot of people, because I dye my hair in "fashion" colors (i.e., purple, blue, green, etc). It sounds gross but the water where I live is super polluted, so I will put off washing my hair as long as possible, so the dye isn't stripped out quite as quickly. I shower every day, and wash my hair usually every three to four days. (In between washing, I use dry shampoos so my hair doesn't look like a grease trap. I particularly like bumble and bumble's pret-a-powder for dry shampooing.)

I use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner designed to help lock in dye, then after I'm done conditioning, I use a clear glaze (I like the John freida one) to make my hair shiny and to keep the dye as vibrant as long as possible. Then I comb through with a wide tooth comb, wrap my hair in one of those microfiber hair towels, let dry, then brush. I always air dry my hair because, again, I try to minimize the use of heat (heat causes dye to fade).

On the budget side there's the NYX Wicked Lippies. Power is probably the closest color to what you're looking for. It's a very comfortable formula and didn't seem to end up on my teeth.

YAAAAAAS I WILL BUY ALLL THE SHINY LIPSTICK

This is pretty much my reaction to red or purple lipstick. They're like Pokémon. I've started doing it lately with green or teal lipstick. Luckily those aren't as common, or I would be in so much trouble.

It's hard to explain to people. No you see this is a slightly bluer purplier red than the 349583 reds I already have plus the formulation is a little bit different and it's got a pretty tube. Wait where are you going?

Word. I'm like that with perfume also.

Oh, shit, I just realized something. If you like shimmery lipsticks, Urban Decay Vice in Firebird. Like, it's fuschia, and I know not everyone can/wants to wear fuschia but it is legitimately one of the most beautiful lipsticks I own. It's so pretty.

UD's lipsticks will be the death of me and my wallet. I actively try to dislike them so I won't buy twenty in a day, but alas...they just have so.many.rose/mauve/lavender colors.

When they relaunched, I was like, oh god, no, my money! Then I tried to limit myself to the more unique colors like Wildfire, which is a metallic orange, and then they released that throwback collection with all the shifting blues and purples, and then I gave up. I also got both of the lipstick palettes they did for the holidays, even with the repeating colors, because once you've given up your life to lipstick, you just have to let it all go.

Depends on the shade, but I will be investigating this.

While we're doing lipstick chat, any tips on how to prevent feathering? Sometimes it happens even when I use a lipliner and seems to be occurring more frequently as I get older. :heart-empty:

I use clear lip liner and then overdraw a little. Feathering is not so much a problem if you've drawn over those lines where it would go with invisible wax.
