I got my first liquid lipstick from Makeup Monsters (in Blackened Heart) and I can probably safely say that those will be my staple for lipsticks. It's pretty amazing.

I also decided to buy the legging jeans (or jeggings) from New York & Company. They're a lot better than Torrid's (and I got those for 30 bucks).

I am trying to also to decide on a new foundation in light of Fall/Autumn coming up, either Too Faced Born This Way or the new Urban Decay All-Nighter Foundation. I am not too sure yet, I have to go back to Ulta to sample it again.

I'm not very fashionable, but I got some sick shirts today. (Also, just to clarify, I'm actually female, but I put my gender as male on here because it fits the Brian May theme.)

Who here has experience with Shea Moisture and Redken? I have very thick, frizzy and dry hair. What products would you use from both lines?

I'd more recommend Shea Moisture if your hair is very thick and frizzy. Redken has some products that are supposedly for taming frizz and helping moisturize your hair but I've never personally found them to be that effective. And I say that as someone who's worked with the stuff a lot; the salons I worked in both carried Redken and I get free samples of it all the time at my current job.

Getting my hair dyed oil-slick style this weekend. I always use color protecting shampoo and conditioner, but even with that, I find that pravana dyes fade quickly on me (the water in my town is super polluted, so there's a lot of chlorine to balance it). Does anybody have any product recommendations for people who have more than one color in their hair?

If your town's water is really chlorinated you could try clarifying your hair 1-2 times a week and following with a mask. You'll have to find one that specifically says it removes pool water, but they're out there.

Hello! Good topic!

I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow, and I'd really like something different from the 3 inches below shoulder length, side parted, with no bangs- style that I've had for the last 4 years. I'm thinking of getting 3-4 inches chopped off, some layering, with 'wispy' bangs.

Worrying I'll chicken out and just get the 1 1/2 inch 'trim' again.

Grows out. Do it.

I went from mid back to having it razor length. My hairdresser laughed like a mad scientist.
Seriously, though, do it. You can always get extensions or a wig if you really hate it.

So, a few days ago I decided it would be a great idea to dye half my hair dark again after having stripped it and gone through all the pain and suffering it took to get the color out the last time. You may be wondering why I did this to myself again, well, I just about had a mental breakdown last week (today was my first day off in over a month and last week I had to do a big project at work all by myself, I started to crack a little bit) and the only thing I could think of to make myself feel better was to color my hair. So I did so without thinking, with what I had on hand, which was a dark brown.

But I have a plan to save my deep-fried hair. I'm going to take these hair growth tablets I've got until maybe late October, November if I can stand it, then I'll strip the color out, lighten, and dump my favorite green dye on it:

I've already gotten so many comments from customers and yeah, they're gonna notice because they're hairdressers, but you'd think that they would realize that people who change their hair often don't like to hear a steady chorus of "You changed your hair again!" No fucking shit.

Also, I'm growing out my undercut and my fringe. This was a horrible, stupid mistake. I shouldn't be left alone with cutting tools, period.

Growing out undercuts/sidecuts takes for-fucking-ever. You have my sympathy.

Semi related: does anybody itt have a shower head filter? (In general? One they'd recommend?)

My undercut was the entire lower half of my head, though, so it'll be harder to blend as it grows out. It's okay, though, because 1) I'll probably have a good two inches of growth by the time I color it (these tablets are medical-grade and are NO JOKE, I've already seen a difference) and 2) I'd resigned myself to awkward hair for a while, anyway.

I may just get the kit tomorrow when I get paid and go ahead and strip the color, though, so my hair can be healing in the meantime. That makes more sense, right?

I went with it! Except, the bob with sideparted bangs is pretty much my other default hairstyle besides regular-long. I had it cut almost the same way in 2003, 2004, 2010, and 2012. Oh, well. It feels better.
I had that same hairstyle for quite a bit. It's a good choice, fun but still classy. If you have a day where you're feeling more adventurous you can try using some spray wax to spike the tips - fish do a really good one and V05 do some some pretty good wax and putty too. Alternatively, you can get a cute hairband and some decent hairspray and go for a shorter beehive - Loreal studio/pro Lock It hairspray works really well for quiffs, especially when used with the mouse and I use a V05 gel wax or a finishing polish to neaten up stray hairs, so I imagine it would work for beehives, too.

(here lies Seto's man-points, who gave their life in the service of being oh so Very gay)

I got my new plugs! Stretched my lobes to 6g (from 8g, which is what they were pierced with). I barely felt a thing, and they're so pretty :3
