Also, since we're on the subject of girly stuff, and makeup is considered "girly"... does anyone know of any masculine makeup tutorials? Like, contouring tips? My face is very round and kind of girlish looking and I've heard of contouring tricks to make the face look more masculine.

I Google masculine makeup and get pics of Asians doing anime eye makeup for cosplays. :c

Contouring is obvious and looks like shit in person, I wish the trend would die, I understand wanting to use it for photos.. But if you search "contouring for men" in youtube videos do come up. I think less makeup vs full face of foundation would be better for pulling off masculine.

There's a guy on YouTube called Tony Bomboni. He does ASMR videos, which is how I know of him, but he also wears male makeup. He has at least two videos where he demonstrates his makeup routine, in a very relaxing fashion since it is ASMR. True, he is not the manliest man, but apart from his eye makeup I think he pulls off male makeup well.

ColourPop ultra matte - it's pretty easy to apply and it lasts for ages through meals/drinks and kissing, plus they're only $5 each (but available online only). So many colours. Not sure if they have black (the selection varies quite often) but definitely dark reds and blues.

Sephora lip stains are good too but more expensive and not quite as long lasting/smudge proof.

Lime Crime Velvetines are the most budge-proof I have worn. Second to that would be Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid lipsticks (survived ravioli with meatsauce on a very decent level!) and the Sephora lip creams. For a shade not as long lasting but very budget friendly would be NYX's Liquid Suede. They seem to work best once they have a chance to dry/set and they have some very funky colors that would be good to try out without breaking the bank for a trend if you so desire.

To remove I personally use coconut oil. I keep a jar by all my other beauty things. It gets my NYX Pin-Up Tease mascara off (it's not labeled waterproof but it might as well be), NYX Brow Gel, and any lip things that settle into the creases. I hate coconut flavored things but this isn't that artificially sweetened garbage and just feels sooooo good. I haven't had issues with it causing acne mostly because I wash my face afterwards with cleanser and water and I actually think it improved the skin around my temples. :heart-full:

I tried the Bite lip wipes but hated them. Too much tugging and they had a weird taste. But the convenience would be nice. If I need to remove a long-wearing lip on the go I'll swipe on some balm I've warmed up between my palms (like in a tube) and the oiliness helps remove it so I can change lip colors or whatever.

Personally I'd get them professionally removed. That way you don't have the awkwardness of growing them back out, unless you have really small nail beds or something. My nail beds are long and I know I couldn't deal with letting a chunk of acrylic grow out.

And I'll second the Millionails recommendation, that stuff is awesome. I got some for my mom when she had her acrylics removed and it saved her nails.
 
Speaking of coconut oil, I've started using it for my allergy-prone skin blehs and it's working as far as I can tell. The redness went down a lot in just a couple of days, anyways. -- That and have to re-start taking vitamins. There is one I'm curious to try out as one of the ladies I work with swears by it for allergic skin and also affects hair and nails. (I forget what it's called, atm)

All in all, I don't mind smelling like a coconut. It smells a heck of a lot better than tea tree oil.

I saved this image from one of sluthate's myriad "looksmax" threads obsessing over pretty men - risible provenance aside, I think it's decently informative. While contouring will never look natural in person, you still might want to play around with cosmetics techniques for appearing on cam or in photos.

Also, having a round face doesn't necessarily read "girly" so much as "young." If you have typically masculine facial mannerisms - say, jaw up and slightly out, narrow eyes and lowered brow - that goes a long way toward overriding people's perception of a feminine facial structure!

I use coconut oil a lot for my own eczema-and-allergy-ridden skin problems, too, even for taking my makeup off. It really does help, although I really hate the smell of it, especially rubbing it on my upper lip (it's been peeling for three days now), but I'm putting up with it.
 
speaking of contour... Do y'all prefer cream or powder contour? I've been using the NYX powder contour palette but I'm wondering if I should maybe try cream. I feel like my contour looks non existent by the time I end up blending it w/ powder.

I tend to prefer powder products in the summer/early fall/late spring, and cream products in winter/late fall/early spring. My skin gets painfully dry when it's cold out, and super oily/sweaty when it's hot.
 
Do any UK Kiwis here use Benefit eyebrow products? I have a code for a free product when you buy one of their eyebrow products. I don't like Benefit stuff so I'll never use it. One of you guys is welcome to it
 
I went to the beauty supply (my store's competition lol) and looked at their PPD-free haircolor and I found two new ones to try. I'm going to make swatches and see which I want to use first, but it'll be a month or so before I actually fill my hair and do the application. And I got another new color to try, a liquid demi-gloss from Pravana. Our rep came and did a really cool demo, everyone got to test out some of the creative formulas and I found one I want to try out on my hair.

Also, has anyone ever tried Milk Makeup? I've mostly heard good things and I think it's cool how they've designed all the products to be easily-portable. And the marketing speaks to me a bit, ngl.
 
Went thrift shopping today in a new town and bought culottes, goddamn half pants half not pants! I love it!
