Anybody know any good resources to learn tailoring? My favorite suit pants have some holes in them and I really don't want to get a new suit. I find the life story of Hugo Boss's founder to be inspirational- as well as the founder of Doc Martens boots- but I already have an old pair of milspec surplus boots that protect my feet just fine.
There's resources online, but something which has absolutely saved my life numerous times while sewing and tailoring clothes is the Reader's Digest New Complete Guide to Sewing, which has a lot of information about how to do alteration/which stitches to use/fabrics/notions/putting in hems and zips and basically everything you could ever possibly need to do at home tailoring and maintainence.
My copy used to belong to my mother and includes several patterns for jackets and shorts and skirts etc, but they are all from the 80s so they're quite dated. It's an invaluable book to have if you're starting out, and even after years of making clothes I still use it all the time for advice on how to pull off neat alterations or put in a zip just-so. The book is available online for very cheap second hand, but there are newer editions which will be a little pricier. It's directed towards women who are homemakers so it's very no-nonsense and practical. There's a glossary at the back for technical terms too, so it's quite user-friendly. there is also advice about general sewing- making cushions and curtains and that sort of thing.

I used to fast for 24h now i can do for the most 16. I believe my Gastristis is guilty of all this bs i have to take greek yorgut or my stomach will eat itself also i am very afraid of having h.pylori. But i already schedule a doctor though.
Now i can only fast the 14-10 everyday but at least i am still losing weight weekly.

Hey guys! I'm not really too good when it comes to fashion but here are a few tips I try to follow.

1. Don't buy clothes that are too big for you. This may sound like a strange tip to give but trust me... the larger size that they buy in the clothing store, the more it will shrink after you wear it. This is why the only time you should go to the clothing store is if you're absolutely positively sure that you're going to be able to return the clothes for a full refund.

2. Try on different pants and shirts to make sure they really are the right size for you. That's also why I never buy clothes that have any elastic on them...if you're in doubt, just buy a different size.

3. Don't let anyone talk you into buying expensive clothes. I just can't stand it when people spend all this money on an item and then they tell you that if you really love it, you should buy their expensive brand, too. As a matter of fact, it's not called 'treat yo self' for nothing

Ok ladies, rate my "color story".

I know fuck all about that and Colourpop was working with severely depleted inventory as it was. I also had no idea how to assemble the palette in the correct order, just slapped the pans in.

I just got my Micro Perfumes order this week. Finally got to try out Delina by Parfums de Marly, and yes ... It's gorgeous. It smells very green, but sweet at the same time. It's not too sharp or too sweet, though. It's the perfect combination of both. Definitely a feminine, but womanly fragrance. It's beautiful, and I'm not disappointed at all!

Keep in mind that I'm a sucker for rose perfumes. Rose tends to have the reputation of being a "grandma" scent sometimes. The perfume is definitely a fragrance for rose lovers, and I'm not sure if it would convert people who avoid those scents.

Very pretty! I like the look of the palette more when it's rotated horizontally to the left. I've been programmed to like the "highlight color" in a palette in the top left corner, and the lighter shadows in the top row altogether.

But yeah! Great selection of colors. The mustard-y colors, the copper colors, and the red-toned browns are perfect for fall!

I have no idea what kind of eye makeup is preferred by you all, however my favorite brand is Urban Decay. They just released a duochrome set that looks amazing.

I simp for naked pallettes already so will update once I can be bothered to pick this one up.
The OG Naked palette was seriously MY JAM until it was literally discontinued. I purchased so many of them over the years and used the crap out of them, even when it was "out of style" and no longer super popular. Hands down one of the best neutral palettes ever. I would still be buying it today if it had not been discontinued.

Other Urban Decay stuff I've enjoyed over the years are their All-Nighter Setting Spray (works like a charm), and their Naked Foundation. Their Naked foundation is basically the fullest coverage I am willing to go for foundation (I'm more of a tinted moisturizer and BB Cream kind of gal), and it has worked great for events where I'm wearing makeup for several hours.

Urban Decay used to be the end-all, be-all brand back in 2009-2010. It doesn't appear to be nearly as popular anymore, even though they still make a lot of good makeup.

Parfums de Marly are gorgeous - I went on a buying craze a few years ago and bought a few FB but realised I'd got carried away so ended up selling all but one. Meliora is another one that's very green but with bright fresh berries, really realistic but just didn't feel "me". Perfect for Summer though.

It seems that nothing is just a sweatshirt anymore. Everything has a hoodie attached to it. I don't want a hoodie, I want a sweatshirt. Hoodies tend to be more frumpy and also I don't use hoodies because of my hair. I do own a few for super rainy cold days when I don't care but I just want a damn sweatshirt. Everything is a hoodie.

Hoodies remind me of college, in a bad way.
I used to live in these things but I can't stand them anymore. I guess it's the frumpy look, I don't want to hide my body anymore like an insecure teenager.

Like a pullover kind or a zip?

Could always cut the hood off.

It gives me kind of ABH Modern Ren vibes. I think it's very pretty!! If it were a premade palette, I'd buy. 9/10 I have to deduct one for the pressed glitter. Personal preference. 😉

Spooky season has finally come which means I need to spend the entire month obsessing over halloween costumes and getting sloppy drunk while wearing facepaint. I want to go as Bunny suit Bulma this year, since it's cute and sexy and comfortable enough for a club. I usually hand make all of my costumes, but I don't have my sewing machine this time and I also don't really have the time, so i'm going the lazy route and buying everything that can't be constructed with hot glue.

I figured that the wig would be the trickiest part and everything else could be plucked from an off-the-rack playboy costume for dirt cheap. I was wrong! It is suprisingly hard to find an affordable playboy bunny costume which fits and doesn't look like it's made out of actual trash bags. The costumes on the site I looked at were £71+ which is way more than I am willing to pay for a costume I will probably wear once and which will, in all likelihood, get ruined.

My plan is to go to Ann summers and have a look at their stuff, but if that fails I could always just wear a black swimming costume.

Quoting over here because off-topic for the actual thread:
lymphedema sleeve
Would love to compile a list here of “good” workout brands — and bad ones as well. I need new shit.
Good brands (aka no fat models): Alo Yoga, Spiritual Gangster, Carbon 38 (their shiny line is cool AF)
Bad brands I will never buy from: Outdoor Voices, Girlfriend Collective, Athleta
These are the leggings. Tess says she's wearing a 3x in the top and leggings, and the jacket is a 4x (because she likes them roomy).
Anyone got any suggestions for good compression wear? Got a friend of mine who just got a new diagnosis where her doctor wants her to start using them but the "prescription" compression leggings are super-expensive.

I found compressionsockshop.com.au and also .ca for Canada. Surely there's a US equivalent? Vaguely work related, and the retail prices for that sort of stuff is mind blowing.

I’m glad it’s getting colder where I am because I hate hate hate the crop tops everywhere trend.
Even things that don’t make sense, like a crop top hoodie or sweatshirt?
If you’re cold or not hot you put on a sweatshirt or hoodie, so I’m not sure why the midriff would be uncovered.

I’ve been buying more hoodies and sweatshirts from the men’s section since the crop top everywhere thing happened because it’s so widespread.

Where I live, it doesn't get cold until November. I know basic girls and thots love to break this shit out to show off their abs.

Old fart here, I've just been buying stuff at Old Navy.

I love boots, and bought a pair of knee-high riding boots this spring. Got them cheap because they were out of season, but now I don't know what to wear them with.
I don't ride, (unless behind Mr Cheese counts) so black leggings and a long tunic?
