I bought some new perfumes from Lush recently, Lord of Misrule and Lord of Goathorn which i've never had before, and Breath of God which is a favourite of mine. Very smoky, hevay scents because I do like to smell like a housefire.

I tested Lord of Goathorn on a strip in the shop and it seemed nice enough, reminded me of the sea which completely sold it for me, because I've recently moved to a landlocked city having lived on the coast my whole life and I miss the sea awfully. I bought the big bottle, took it home, sprayed some on myself and immediately gagged. It has a super strange initial smell, but as it sinks into your skin it changes and becomes very salty, smoky, like dry seaweed. It's an interesting smell, very evocative. It's strong too, which is good because it was very pricey, so I won't have to use too much. I'd never had something like it before, it's fascinating.

Lord of Misrule is nice enough too, a little lighter and less surprising. A guy on the bus complimented me on it (?), so I suppose that's as good a reassureance as any that It works for me.

I stan for Lord of Misrule and Rose Jam. It's the only products I buy from Lush and in the biggest sizes. I hoard a bottle for myself for the entire year, and it's probably one of few things I act like an embarrassing consoomer for. One of my go-to places for unique scents is Strange Fire and Fumery. They're an indie perfume brand and if you wanna smell like a sweet house fire, Black Goat is the best.

always look at ounces etc not size of product when shopping because packaging lies.
In serum glass bottles, they use a good layer of extra glass in the bottom. As if nobody would notice. In creams they use to use this oval bulb that sticks up in the middle, or they don't make the "cream-bowl" all the way. Which is very easy to see from underneath.
Didn't find a pic, but the "walls" are longer than the bowl.

Like this thing of hair stuff. The bowl is super recessed and molded separate of the outer case. Useful for when you drop things on your tile floors, sucks cause you feel like you get jipped everytime.

Lord of Misrule is one of my favorite go-to fragrances for Fall, and it's pretty much my signature "Halloween Season" perfume. It makes me feel like I'm a witch who bakes cakes, or something. If Lily Munster wore perfume, then I imagine it would have smelled like Lord of Misrule, haha. It smells so earthy, warm, and sweet.

There's a lot of Lush fragrances that are really nice, I think. This might be a little "basic bitch-y" of me, but I adore Rose Jam. Rose is one of my favorite fragrance notes, and the sweetness of Rose Jam just makes me feel so feminine and pretty. I wore that perfume on my wedding day, and to this day I still get comments from some friends whenever I wear Rose Jam in public that are long the lines of "You smell like you did on your wedding day!" Rose Jam is pretty memorable, I'd say. Lust is a really nice one too if you're into perfumes that are jasmine bombs (like Mugler Alien). And Twilight is my all-time favorite lavender fragrance: The tonkabean notes make it smell so warm and cozy.

My taste in fragrances are all over the place, really. I'd call myself a more "seasonal perfume" kind of gal rather than a "signature fragrance" kind of gal.

I'm also big on seasonal fragrances, probably more so than I am on seasonal wardrobes. Tbh one of my favourite things about winter is how my scarves will smell like my favourite perfume when I wrap myself up. Lord of Misrule reminds me of walking through antique stores or old churches, that woody smell with a hint of sweetness like polish on ancient pews.

I think smell is the most evocative sense. I get such strong memories just from smelling certain familiar scents. The Lush Handy Gurugu hand cream will forever make me think of the summer of 2010, listening to Fame Monster and playing Adventure Quest on the family PC. I used to keep a pot of it by the computer and now whenever I smell it the sights and sounds of that year come rushing back. I have a similar thing with sun cream- it makes me think about being at a resort in Greece where the air smelled like ice cream, cigarettes and Nivea suncream.

Rose Jam is so sweet and fresh, perfect for sunny days. I've very rarely been dissapointed or underwhelmed by Lush fragrances, I think they've done a great job of cultivating a signature vibe to their scents while still making them distinct. There's a particular headiness to Lush fragrances, even the lighter ones, that I really love.

Tbh I don't think i've thought of perfumes in the same way ever since I read Perfume by Süskind when I was 14.

I have a very intense sense of smell. The movie Perfume: The Story of a Murderer is one of my top ten movies of all time. The way they depict the smells and how he can describe them, be still my racing heart. I've got the book lying around, but I haven't read it yet. (Kick me.) The store I work at have a couple of newish soaps and deodorants come in and one smells almost exactly like "Stone" (Harry's Stone Bodywash). IDK how it smells after it's on the body. The Harry's deodorant doesn't smell nearly as close to real stone as the bodywash. It amazes me how they got it to smell like stone instead of rock and crushed rubble.

I prefer the book to the film, but they're both excellent. The descriptions of the various smells of things like the fish market and the tanner's workshop are so vivid, it actually made me a little nauseous.

I feel retarded for the amount of time it took me to realize I can wear men’s cologne if I want to. I like “feminine” scented perfumes as well, they’re nice, but I’m just in love with more strong, seductive scents that are pretty much only found in Big Strong Man Cologne and I wanna smell like it too. So far I haven’t gotten any shit for it, although I do panic lowkey when I go out in public that someone will know and laugh at me for it even though I shouldn’t give a shit.

Anyways Calvin Klein is a great brand that doesn’t smell like a middle school boy who just took an Axe shower but is noticeable enough to be worth the price. So if you’re also a waman who wants to actually smell good and not drop hundreds of dollars on the faintest whiff of honeysuckle I would recommend.

I don't wear perfume very often, so I like to buy travel-sized bottles instead of regular-sized ones. I found this site called microperfumes, and I decided to try it out by ordering travel-sized versions of Chanel No. 5 and Black Orchid by Tom Ford.
10/10 was super affordable and I'm very happy with both of my purchases. I'll be browsing their selection more and getting a few sample sizes in the future.

1,60 for a woman is the average but is still short, right? anyways what is considered a tall woman(i know this is a dumb question but i just came back from a troon thread and some women who look tall are midgets next to these guys.
Also there is still this skincare trend a thing? most dermatologists will tell you all you need is fps protection, wash your face two times a day and use a good mosturizer.

My skin was fine until i started shedding off a satanic amount of weight i gained when i was younger mainly because i started taking meds and fucking haes grabbed me by their freaking tentacles and i was almost 90kg.
I think it is hormones fluctuation. When i was younger i used to be so dumb...
I was fat when I was younger and have pcos, my skin still fucking sucks and I get hormonal acne at a normal bmi even though most of the other symptoms are now gone. I keep it under control with benzoyl peroxide but it's still an extra bitch around my period. At least now I can wear a mask over my jaw and chin.

I'm very tall and I feel physically small around many men, even if they're around my height. I feel huge compared to most women though. Men are usually broader and bulkier even if you control for height. Plus very few women get to heights like 6'3+ that are considered tall for men, even a more average height for men like 5'11-6' is going to tower over average women. Moreso when you remember a lot of trannies live in heels because anything flat or sensible isn't feminine enough.

Also the skincare thing is a little bit consoomer, but I don't see that much harm if you're being reasonable with it. Ime lifestyle things help a lot even if they aren't a magic bullet - drink water, sunscreen, dont eat garbage, decent sleep, wash your face, change pillowcases frequently. Stuff like that decreased my acne from constant all over my face to annoying breakouts one week a month localized to my chin/jaw.

Tall and short are subjective, often, and cultural constructs. I'm just over 5'5" and am considered tall by the elderly and average by everyone else. People, male and female, are getting taller generally as a result of increasing affluence. Strangely, however, people are now getting shorter in parts of Europe as living standards fall. I'd say 5'8" and over is tall for a woman, and over 5'10" unusually so. With troons it's anyone's guess, although the MTF ones tend to be on the tall side for men, let alone women.

I exclusively use men's products, except for my face. But skincare is skincare right now. I do expect that to change in the future. No one has ever said anything to me about how manly I smell.

United States men = 5'9"
US women - 5'3"
I'm a 5'7" woman, taller than avg female, shorter than avg male. I think that number changed in the past couple of years cause I remember men being avg 5'7". Wish I was taller tho lol.

as a self proclaimed scent whore- thanks for the link, I ordered a bunch of samples and purse size sprays!

As a woman who is taller than the average American man I can say that yes, everyone comments on my height but even a below average height male could kick my ass. It's just reality, no matter how tall or strong I am. Also, never once been mistaken for a male because people aren't stupid.

Thank you for this! It's awesome.

Last year, I finally finished my bottle of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille ... Which is one of my faves during Christmastime. I really don't want to fork over that much money for another bottle, so these travel sizes are amazing!

EDIT: I see that they also have Delina by Parfums de Marly! Lots of people call this one a "masterpiece" rose fragrance, but it's super expensive. Definitely going to pick up a travel size of this one, too! Can't wait to finally see what the fuss is about with this one!

Anybody know any good resources to learn tailoring? My favorite suit pants have some holes in them and I really don't want to get a new suit. I find the life story of Hugo Boss's founder to be inspirational- as well as the founder of Doc Martens boots- but I already have an old pair of milspec surplus boots that protect my feet just fine.
