She dresses up in alternative stuff alotWhat's your gf's taste/style? And what kind of nice outfit would you like to see her wear?
This post is adorable and wholesome. She dresses up in alternative stuff alot
Honestly any outfit would do because she's just so damn beautiful in my eyes, but I really love cute stuff.
I kinda ruined the surprise by asking her what her style is while she faced off on some monopoly, and now she's kinda cuddled up against me watching me type this. This post is adorable and wholesome.
So it sounds to me that your gf is more on the "trendy" side of fashion? Alternative stuff is pretty trendy right now. My go-to suggestion would probably be a black dress of some kind for a nice outfit-- black can easily be styled to look both cute and alternative.
MSD posted in one of the lolita threads earlier hoping they could somehow get their GF into lolita stuff. So honestly gothic lolita stuff might work? Note that gothic lolita refers to Victorian era inspired clothing in this context, not goth stuff. This post is adorable and wholesome.

It's not gothic lolita but you could look at black dresses on Unique Vintage or Modcloth? Kind of a cute rockabilly style. But she's really into alternative rock, I agree on the black dresses, she has a few and when I see her in them, i go ape, she's adorable
Unfortunately she says lolita is too frilly for her. Shame too because she would look amazing in it.MSD posted in one of the lolita threads earlier hoping they could somehow get their GF into lolita stuff. So honestly gothic lolita stuff might work? And I think I'll look on those two sites, thanks! It's not gothic lolita but you could look at black dresses on Unique Vintage or Modcloth? Kind of a cute rockabilly style.
Really good idea. Rockabilly/pinup has become a trendy thing among alternative rocker ladies over the past few years, specifically. It's not quite gothic lolita, but it is definitely a more cutesy style of clothes. It's not gothic lolita but you could look at black dresses on Unique Vintage or Modcloth? I don't wear makeup but I wanted to acknowledge how adorable that bow it. I love subtle stuff like this.Any advice for someone who has never got into makeup unless it was super necessary for like a wedding or something, but wants to get into the world of makeup anyway and doesn't know where to start?
Also as a bonus, I want to show off this super cute Eevee hair bow that my boyfriend got me for my birthday, he knows I'm a sucker for Eevee, so now I'm just waiting to get the perfect clothes to match the Eevee get up.

I recommend the book Making Faces, by Kevyn Aucoin; it's a classic for a reason, and easy to get cheaply used. It goes into unspoken basics of theory and practice, with enough plain how-to to make it worth it for that alone.Haven't decided what suits me the best yet but I would prefer something more natural that won't stand out that much.

It's hard coming to makeup as an adult and missing those teenage years of stupid mistakes and growing skills, but the tradeoff is having a fully-developed brain to learn with, and a better budget.
Obvious advice from another late bloomer: do some practicing at night/at leisure, so you're not trying to get liquid eyeliner perfect right before you rush out the door. That's exactly what I've been trying to avoid haha. If you mess up as a teenager no one bats an eye but if you do put too much of a thing on as an adult you have the reisk of looking like a clown, so I'm trying to take baby steps with easier stuff and avoid as many big noticeable mistakes as possible. Also thanks for the heads up on the book, will look for it over the weekend!
I feel validated at last. You can easily pay 10x more for liner, so I thought I was just biased by my undeveloped taste and overall cheapness.uh, W&W liquid eyeliners are the best and I will poke anyone who disagrees with me in the eye with my YSL mascara wand.
