Donald Trump, Israel's Greatest Ally
UWR - Human Bureaucrat Noble
1/5

During combat on your turn, Donald Trump has shroud and "This creature can't be sacrificed."

Whenever Donald Trump attacks, if it's the first combat phase of the turn, untap all other attacking creatures. After this phase, there is an additional combat phase. At the beginning of that phase, untap all lands you control and choose an opponent. That opponent controls you during that additional combat phase. (They see all cards you could see and make all decisions for you.)

At the beginning of your postcombat main phase, if Donald Trump attacked this turn, draw three cards and create three Gold tokens. (A Gold token is an artifact with "Sacrifice this token: Add one mana of any color.")

"We're going to Make Israel Great Again!"

My go-to store's Secrets of Strixhaven prerelease preorders oversold hard enough that the building was at fire code capacity. Their Marvel prerelease preorders are so low the owner is confidently running a double-header Modern RCQ the same day.

There is a single card I'm looking at that might be cool as a 1-of in Tron to wish out of the sideboard with Karn The Great Creator, but it's 8 mana to not do anything immediately without other crap on the table, e.g. Ugin Eye of the Storms. I guess an upside is that animating it with Karn makes me an 8/8 for a blocker in a pinch.

But my card assessment can be shit, I thought The One Ring would be a 1-of sideboard card in Tron at best.
Its really good. Play this with stuff like Sheoldred, the apocalypse and enjoy all the life gain.

Marvel has surprised me. I expected it to be middling, because the archetypes seemed pretty weak - but they're trying something out that I'm not sure they've ever really done before.

So in Final Fantasy, there were a few one-off legends that kinda did their own thing and weren't related to their color pair considerations, like Golbez. Obviously, you just splash him in a UW deck in that format, because that was the color-pair that cared about artifacts. Except now what they've done is thread in all these random cards that seemingly have no intended support, like Ms. Fisto and Slobberin Time, but which you can make a crazy deck around if you adapt quickly. There are only a few key cards, but you can create entire decks around them that function otherwise and really slam. Turns out that white has the one-drop that gains a life when you attack alone, and every green fight spell makes fisto cantrip. Archetypes-in-a-can.

But on the other side of that depth, which is deeply enjoyable, are utterly-unstoppable bombs that you genuinely cannot play against with any reasonable degree of success. Removal that gets around indestructible is huge in the format, and red feels especially weak because it genuinely has no way around so many of these things.

For constructed, the greatest victims of Marvel seems to be Legacy and Vintage.

This goofy thing from the Fantastic Four Commander precon went straight to Vintage Shops decks, but now it's popping up in artifact-based decks in Legacy and even in Doomsday. I get why, in decks that can dump a bunch of spells in a turn it spawns a 2-turn clock while itself counting for that ability. But I fear that the worries about Universes Beyond creating a pseudo-Reserved List of very powerful cards that can't be reprinted because of licensing are coming to pass.

Oh no an artifact broke in the Workshop deck, it's like they should have restricted Workshop
