The music icon developed a "serious bacterial infection" on Saturday, 24 June, which led to her being admitted to an intensive care unit, her talent manager said - adding that she is expected to make a "full recovery".

For every criticism you could make of Madonna, she works insanely hard at staying fit (it's why her hands are so scary) and a woman in her mid-60s (but in denial) doing a punishing gym routine and ambitious dance rehearsals every day could very easily injure herself quite badly.
