Ding Dong before Oney Plays was part of this thing called The Best Gamers which I have no idea is but was apparently a parody of video game reviews (these came out circa 2010-2015 so I imagine they were probably parodying stuff from screwattack or something) but otherwise I guess his appeal is that troons know who he and julian were from Oney Plays and that they are gay and liberal game devs who "work" on flash vidya games. So troons flock to dd and julian to either see them play old nintendo slop, watch old commercials, "work" on their "games", and other retarded shit that troons love to see on twitch.

I have no idea how to find out if this is true, but some seeming non-brownoid on 4chan says that Hololive (the vtuber company) used the dawxxing-via-DMCA thing Josh recently warned us about to get the suable real identities of some internet assholes.
Japanese law doesn't provide any analogous way of finding out who just any pseudonymous asshole is. They reserve it for actual criminals (sort of; you know how laws are). But—they effectively have no "fruit of the poison tree" style evidentiary exclusion rule there, so they don't care how Hololive found out who to sue.

He became EXTREMELY influential in these groups and heavily pushed them towards Satanism, sextortion of children, and accelerationist domestic terrorism. He was essentially the basis/inspiration/driving force behind 764 and these NVEs as we now know them over the course of 2 decades, and he did it all while extorting children, gooning to CP, and getting paid hundreds of thousands on the taxpayer's dime. The feds cut him loose about 5 years ago because they accidentally outted him as a snitch during a lawsuit against one of the other members. He's just out there now, completely free, continuing to write for and support 764.
Not only is this not the first time the Feds have allowed these NVE CIs to continue to do fucked up things, this isn't even the first time in this specific group.

Well a lot of it was because he was such a big white knight of Zoe Quinn during Gamergate that a lot of people wondered if he was one of the Five Guys Zoe Quinn was sleeping with in order to gain more prominence in the indie scene. Didn't help that he had went to a wedding with Zoe.
