Culture Lilly Wachowski To Adapt The Trans Horror Novel Manhunt - The Wachowski brother that admitted porn made him "trans" is now making a TV show out of Manhunt, the book written by another man pretending to be a woman that features sexual violence, cross-dressing men murdering TERFs, and J.K. Rowling dying horribly.

Lilly Wachowski, co-director of The Matrix and trans filmmaker, is set to adapt Manhunt, a 2022 dystopian horror novel by Gretchen Felker-Martin.

The adaptation promises to bring Felker-Martin’s brutal and gripping narrative to life on screen, a story that centres around trans women surviving in a post-apocalyptic world where testosterone transforms people into feral, zombie-like creatures.

Felker-Martin, thrilled by the news, shared her excitement on X, writing, “The cat’s out of the bag, baby,” and expressing that she “couldn’t be prouder or more excited to be writing it.”

Fans of trans horror are eager to see this ground-breaking story brought to the screen, especially given the novel’s unique take on a post-apocalyptic narrative, which diverges from the usual cisgender lens.

In Manhunt, trans women Beth and Fran are on the run, not only from these feral men but also from a group of murderous TERFs.

The narrative goes beyond mere survival, as the women struggle to continue their transitions amidst the chaos, a literal fight for life in the new world gone mad.

Manhunt is not for the faint of heart, and readers can expect the TV adaptation to be just as intense and horrifying.

More projects in the works for Wachowski

Wachowski, who has always been open about her commitment to telling queer and trans stories, expressed her passion for the project in an interview with Autostraddle. “We’re going to do our damnedest to bring this thing kicking, screaming, and queer as hell onto the screen,” she said.

This adaptation isn’t the only queer project on Wachowski’s radar.

During her Autostraddle interview, she revealed that she is also adapting Jordy Rosenberg’s historical, genre-bending novel Confessions of the Fox.

Additionally, Wachowski shared that she had just completed a script with her partner, a response to the rising wave of anti-trans sentiment worldwide.

The script, titled The Hunted, explores a resistance movement led by trans people in a murder mystery that infiltrates the highest levels of government. “What if trans people could form this almost weather underground level of resistance?” Wachowski teased.

No further details have been released about the adaptation of Manhunt and when it is set to be released.

He likely hasn't found a studio willing to actually finance it. It doesn't mention any studio in the article. This is worth noting since their last film bombed and it would be surprising if a studio gave them money after that.

The article just says they are working on it but that could be as vague as they just wrote a script and they're trying to shop it around. It's entirely possible it'll just never get made.
Yes, that is most likely the case, as they don't mention the network or anything like that and the way the troon phrases "we are going to work our hardest to bring this to screen" implies that they don't have a buyer for the adaptation they are working on.

I wonder what they're up to these days.
I'm sad this is being directed by Lily, I assumed he was the real talent, as Larry "Lana" W. solo efforts sucked.
'Lilly's ' last project was a sitcom about a "fat dyke" that got cancelled after two seasons because nobody cared. Having watched some of it, I'd say the characters are played and written empathetically and naturalistically, even if the comedy was entirely theoretical - a crueler person than me would say he's mastered the art of lesbian comedy.

'Lana' is not at fault for Matrix: Resurrections - in fact, he nearly gave up on the film. Warner Brothers had been pestering them for nearly two decades to make sequels (plural), to the point of literally putting scripts written by another guy in their hand, even after the pair had ended their formal collaboration with them. You can see the result - that fourth Matrix film spends its entire runtime using desperate troll logic to justify why anything is happening. It felt like some poor overworked mom trying to explain to her kids why daddy and that strange lady being naked together was completely ordinary and nothing to worry about.

So its no surprise the Wachowskis have lost the divine spark that let them create the Matrix trilogy.
Don't give them quite that much credit. While the Matrix is a clever film, what makes it iconic was having the right people and that it would turn out to be culturally serendipitous.

They've said that Tolkien is a huge source of inspiration, which shows because their primary skill is a sense of vision and worldbuilding, at least initially. All their big projects obviously have a great deal of narrative and thought applied, including from things troons have never heard of, like fables and classical literature, which serve to ground the themes. But, they share Tolkien's shortcomings as well, in that the worldbuilding is dependent on lengthy if intriguing exposition and dry, perfunctory dialogue, but they also suffer from George Lucas syndrome (another inspiration) when their films start to be so much more interested in showing you the world and the spectacle that they stop telling a story. Their films are filled with scenes of characters monologuing information that require very good actors to pull off. Lawrence Fishburne and Hugo Weaving are playing non-characters who's lines consist of nothing but exposition, and their performances and their parallel thematic roles to each other are the reason why their scenes in the Matrix aren't just considered not-boring, but iconic.

This (LGBTQ bullshit aside) has been the flaw in all of their work. Jupiter Ascending is a spectacular looking film, with amazing spaceships, costumes, effects, all informed by a Greek epic and allegorical references to adventure tales. All of that, for 90 minutes of watching groups of po-faced non-characters drag Mila Kunis around the universe so that they can give her lengthy and increasingly revelatory exposition about the rich history of this whole trade empire that never plays a part in the story. It's Mila Kunis being given successively higher numbers of times Zion has been destroyed.

All of that is to say, either, both or all of the Wachowskis from 1 or 2 decades back aren't going to help this thing, because they can't apply the things that they're good at. They can't worldbuild, 'cause it's been built. There's no point informing yourself about classical history or art for timeless themes and morals, because what can you say about this? How is a person who can't write characters or exposition trying to depict a world where trans-women are hunting the testicles of men, meeting up with women and forming a polycule?

Or is it just because that in 1996, the Wachowskis filmed what is considered one of the greatest lesbian sex scenes in film history?

Make it. Make it as faithful to the book as possible. Treat the main characters as if they're completely justified in every disgusting, moronic, narcissistic and self-destructive choice they make, just like the book does.

I'll admit I just read the summaries and excerpts in the thread about it, (thank you to the brave kiwis that suffered through it for us, your sacrifice will not be forgotten,) but honestly anyone who can read it and NOT be peaked by it will never be peaked and I would like to know who those people are.

The weird part is that Bound is actually a decent movie overshadowed by that.

This isn't like trying to spot Cybill Danning's tits in the Howling sequel.

Also Speed Racer is the best movie these degens ever made.

Is this all speculation based on the tweet be the author? I'm not seeing anything about a production company financing the project, or even a Kickstarter so all the troons can donate their HRT money to get their fetish content in the screen. This project is a guaranteed loss and doing woke shit just to do it seems to be going out of style, so I can't see this actually getting made.

Fuck i read the headline and thought they were making a movie based on the Rockstar game. What a wave of emotions.

The Rockstar game had a white man trapped in a game of death where he killed criminals while a perverted Hollywood Jew was pulling the strings all along. No way that movie would get made because Jews are vampires; since they can't see their reflection in the mirror it is obvious they lack self-reflection as well.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you and thank you @blue gopher snakes
I regret not finishing the book read-through for the sake of following through on something I set out to accomplish. But damn that book was vile AND poorly written and I just couldn’t hack it. I can’t believe any version of it could ever be greenlit for a movie adaptation. But I am glad: the more people who see what Grootchen and men like him think about women, the less they will trust trannies. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

One of the cruel realities of trooning out is the person you were is dead and gone. Whatever spark you had to create excellent works has been replaced by a desire to indulge in your perversions and an overwhelming need to spread that onto children.

So its no surprise the Wachowskis have lost the divine spark that let them create the Matrix trilogy.

I am much less anti-trans compared to many KF posters, and one of the things that is a dividing line between the trannies I can stand and the trannies I can't is how they approach their life before transitioning. The people who are in my life who are trans generally accept their life before transitioning, and are well-adjusted, functioning members of society, who can hold down jobs that aren't sinecures, have long-term friendships and relationships, etc. The people who fall into the whole "the person you were is dead and gone" thing (symbolic death of the self, "dead name" etc) are all fucking lunatics and I stay away from them.

This book/proposed TV series seems absolutely insane, and I echo other posters in this thread about it by saying I can't wait for it, because I think more people need to be confronted with what some of these people actually believe.

Ah yes the Wachowski *checks notes* Siblings *rechecks* Sibling is going to save Hollywood with their exciting new entry in *looks again* hatred of normies.

JK Rowling lives rent free in the heads of every tranny and all because she said "no, I don't agree".

That's the best part too. Even normies can see it since it happens in public. (well social media)
She is literally hitler, stalin, mao and the devil, all rolled into one, and guilty of every form of ism and phobia, for these people. And all it took was to disagree with females being called a dehumanizing name! lol
