I like the new look, but it does need to be broken in a bit I think.

My only complaint is that the pagination at the top of threads is gone; instead it's only at the bottom of the page.

are you sure? it looks different but i'm seeing it.

is the search function broken or something?
No, but I also checked and it appeared that I was still on page 2 so I stupidly thought nobody else had issues. That was my mistake but that navigation is something that has also changed, and is on the left when was formerly on the right, so harder to see, especially when part of the left is cut off.

Probably Null will have to put up with a few dumbasses like me until things are more normalized. :)

I get no pagination on top of the page, and on mobile there is almost no margins between the text and the side edges of the screen.

I'm using firefox.

I know I'm not supposed to mention the ratings menu but I like to rate most posts that I read, instead of actively contributing anything, and the extra second it takes now is a strong deterrent. I enjoy that horrifying is an option now but still prefer my ability to offer my opinion on everything posted with minimal effort.
New layout seems pretty nice, I guess. I liked the old software too, as a user. This seems shinier and will probably feel comfy eventually.

Some people's avatars have beens squished to fit. Intentional?
If you reupload (or perhaps edit) your av, you'll be able to select a square area of it to show on-screen. We are stuck with a square avs (at least until Null sees fit to do something), but at least the aspect ratio will be right.

Another thing, I like how we now have the option to collapse the sidebar on the homepage, but can you make it so that it stays the same whenever I return? It always reverts back to the sidebar being visible when I refresh.
Go into your account preferences. There are a couple of options concerning collapsing the sidebar that might do what you want.

I liked the page numbers beneath the threads in individual sub forums, just to know how much a thread might have grown.

This is the smoothest and nicest forum transition I've ever experienced in all my Internetting days. Great job with the migration Null.

A slight cosmetic bug I'm seeing: on Chrome on mobile (android) when spoiler titles wrap past 1 line it overlaps the spoiler text that appears underneath.

This also happens on Chrome on desktop with small screen sizes. I have a netbook with a 13" screen and your text is wrapping over the spoilered text for me too.

Favicon just showed up and started working here. I don't know if Null just worked on it or if some cache expired or something, but it's now definitely working. It wasn't earlier but I didn't want to mention it again.

If you don't mind me chiming in, I have a problem with the layout of the text boxes on mobile because the text goes right to the edge of the screen, I can see the pixels touch the edge. I like to have a gap between the text and the edge so it's more aesthetically pleasing.
Damn, didn't realise that the last post was addressing the same problem! Ninja'd!

This.
I'm using an android device running the Brave browser, if that helps.
Honestly most of my gripes are with the mobile version aesthetics/QoL issues. The desktop version actually seems to be much improved.

I preferred the numbers, too. If you wanted to know who gave what ratings you could still click to list them. I'll get over it, though.

Oh, so the aggregate ratings view is the new normal now? I liked seeing the numbers, too, it's kinda like a mini-poll of sorts on how a post is received by the community. I kinda thought that Null is gonna put the old numbers system in place but is low on the priority list (and rightfully so).

Fairly certain the most-recent-post column has less of the thread title shown than before. It's not actually broken but I hate getting less info from a quick scan of the index. This affects desktop browsers only; the mobile version shows more characters.
It does. I was looking for an option to make the right-most column wider but it's not a thing. I'll have to force that too.

Don't know if it's been mentioned already, but I can see signatures even if I have "show signatures" off, at least in TSIC.
Intentional.

Since we can embed posts now, does that replace archiving? I have no idea if the embed post still shows if it's embedded here.
No. I've hard disabled most embeds. D

Stop treating me like a tablet user just because I don't like to have my browser window maximized.
No. The navigation tabs are too big to fit in that space at that resolution. You are a defacto tablet user.

Hopefully I'm not just being a complete idiot. On Mac + Chrome v. 72.0.3626.119.

I only have the option to 'like' a post, no other ratings appear. I've tried clicking, holding down the like button, hovering over.

Similarly, nothing comes up if I hover over my alerts at the top. If I click it the number in red disappears but no box displaying watched threads with new posts appears. Click again and taken to alerts page as usual.

I've grown the right-most column on the node list and swapped those fucking "new!" buttons for kiwi green titles if there are new posts.

Mobile users should see nav above threads.
