I wish this whole change was an elaborate joke. Having the new ratings is nice, but it’s not worth the format change.

I have to agree. It seems most people have responded positively to XF2, but I don't like it at all. I guess it's just too many changes at once for me to get used to.

Another thing I've found is that the Watched Threads page is quite cluttered. It lists all threads you are subscribed to, where as the old version only listed ones that had new comments. Right now (at least on my FF desktop), the threads are all interspersed, ie I will have threads that don't have any new comments mixed with threads that do, making it difficult to navigate.

I figured out how to visit on mobile. I need to use Chrome. All other browsers just seem to overlay everything with the shit I previously mentioned. Slight pain in my ass since I really don't use Chrome on my tablet, but meh. Whatever, I can deal with it. Just gonna have to update with a fresh APK since Google's play store is fucking tarded. (It keeps telling me to clear space to update, even when I've cleared the space they previously told me to clear. Fucking worthless.)

Good to know. I was gonna try Firefox for the gif options. But if it looks that bad I won't bother at the moment.

I feel like I can see the posts better now. It does look odd but I can get used to it. The way the emotes are displayed now is weird though. Feels like it takes longer to find something because it isn't broken up into clickable categories. Also, it takes forever to load. Is it because of all the normie emotes included in that long ass list?

Thanks for letting us cheapskates use the horrifying rating, Null. I'll have to get used to that over Islamic content.

I wish this whole change was an elaborate joke. Having the new ratings is nice, but it’s not worth the format change. On the phone, it’s way too cluttered to read through. The old layout was my home and you took it away from me. It’s much easier to browse through massive threads on the old layout and the alert system and the ratings you see on profiles are entertaining. This reminds me too much of Facebook now with the Like button being the most prominent and the links to share this place on Reddit, Pinterest or Facebook (like people on here would actually share posts from here onto those places anyway).

The change is for the sake of the backend, not the theme. Null's going to have a much easier time making changes and mods for the site than he did before. He's gone above and beyond to get the new theme and functionality to match the old as much as possible so far. I'm sure if he could then he'd dump the old mods and CSS into XF2 verbatim but he can't do that. We should be really grateful he's going through this much trouble for the sake of making the software transition as seamless as possible for us. Given that he could have just as easily let the old site rot into obsolescence and umaintainability, or just dumped the new site on us with no mods or themes to match the old site. Either would have been easier.

For some weird reason... the Inner Circle is missing for me.

Since we can embed posts now, does that replace archiving? I have no idea if the embed post still shows if it's embedded here.

Still need to archive, embeds are just windows into the site they're from and usually mirror the edits that get made from the respective site.

Have you tried cache refreshing? Ctrl+Refresh

you should still always archive links.

embedding does not save a copy of the link, and the embedded content will stop showing up if it is deleted on the original site. also, if it’s from a site like tumblr where many people use statcounter or similar tools, they will likely be able to see that their content is being linked on KF and that’s no fun.

I think someone was suggesting it before but it might be wise for null to disable embeds, both for the reason you just said and to discourage embedding without archiving under the false assumption that the embed will persist after the original post gets deleted.

Another thing, I like how we now have the option to collapse the sidebar on the homepage, but can you make it so that it stays the same whenever I return? It always reverts back to the sidebar being visible when I refresh.

I'm unsure if this has already been addressed, but I browse the farms on mobile almost exclusively, and the navigation to specific page numbers on threads is more of a process. It seems that the only navigation to different pages is at the bottom of each thread, and if that function can be mirrored at the top as well, that'd be nice :)
