It definitely is real. I wonder if the origin is social or something to do with brain development, I remember looking into it a little while ago but I never found much. I reckon it’s a bit of both though. In my childhood/early adolescence the vast majority of my social interactions was with women and I had some flamboyant speaking patterns and mannerisms. In my later teen years though the majority of my friends were men and after a bit my speech changed and now I sound like a regular straight guy and my body language became a lot more masculine as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if the faggcent has an impact on personality though since I still feel like my core personality is a lot more feminine than most other guys.

I think that it is a social thing. What you said about hanging mostly around women seems true enough, because there are a lot of fuckbois I've interacted with who are heterosexual that sound exactly like a gay man. And I've noticed that the gay people who gravitate towards and hang around women are way more likely to have the fagcent. Because the fagcent really is just adopting the mannerism and speech patterns of the kinds of women who are inclined to be around gay men. They are usually rather bitchy and nasally themselves.
 
I lean more towards the conclusion that the "gay voice" must be more of a learned behavior, simply because we know how much the way a person speaks can be impacted by the context of their upbringing. It's certainly the case for accents and dialects, so I don't see why it wouldn't also be influenced by the internalized thoughts a person might have about their sexual identity.

My theory is that gay men tend to be more attached to their mothers growing up so a lot of the mannerism pass on. Especially the speech patterns and the way of having a more melody like way of speaking and less monotone.

I know when I'm shy or excited I adopt a more feminine way of speaking but out side of that i think sound pretty "Straight". It good because I spend most of my time around pretty conservative people.

It's a form of social signalling. Some fags are "on" all the time, and some aren't, but in either case it's a semi-conscious decision made based on how they want to be perceived within a group. I'd imagine most people in this thread fall into the latter camp, as do I -- when I'm with family or straight male friends, I speak more or less normally, but when I'm with gay friends (or tipsy) I become a lot more expressive.

It's more than homophobia when our own "culture" is rotted to the core to where its twice as hard to find any semblabce of love or long term relationships compared to heteros. It's no wonder the world may hate us. But think of it like this. We are Outer Heaven. United against the world as brothers and sisters. They groomed me when I was younger and more malleable. I used to like furry shit after watching zootopia, and enjoying the cute art I saw and talking to some online but I hated it around the boykisser fuckery when I got older. There are so many furry pedophiles who talked to me knowing I was young. I was exposed to yiff when I was younger because all furry bullshit LEADS TO PORN AND HORNY COGNITOHAZARDS FOR MINORS. It always hurts seeing kids get into the furry shit because you know they're being groomed. No one will speak out about it because furries are a cult much like the LGBT who refuse to acknowledge their issues or take methods of protecting newcomers via gatekeeping. Furries are fucking sick. They remind me a lot of those infamous tranny minor grooming cults. While not all of them are pedophiles anyone who is "in the community" very much is. Either a pedo or a bystander which is equally terrible. Yeah I may have been a furry of sorts. I was a dumb teenager. I have my regrets, I still find some of the (sfw) anthro character art and media they make to be inspirational, but I will no longer associate with them or defend them like the user Hardline Traditionalist does because of the cognitohazard it poses to unsupervized youth. It's existence without gatekeeping has been a disaster. Even "gated" NSFW furry communities easily let minors in.
