He probably had never drank, nor knew any who had, so only had comic books and MST3k for reference. It's also amazing how the latter is easy to watch while the former is excruciatingly hard.
He's never had a drink in his life. Part of it is because of how Christian and 'moral' he used to be. The other part is he knows he'd turn into an alcoholic if he enjoyed it. Consider how hard he dives into things he enjoys. Buying a ton of comics and Power Rangers toys instead of saving money. Only eating chicken tendies because he likes them. If he actually liked drinking, we'd be getting a gofundme for a new liver within a month.

There was a fairly persistent rumor that in the early days of CA, someone (suspected Noah or Brad) spiked Lewis's drink and his tolerance was so low that he acted very strangely and ended the night by shoving a comic book up his own ass.

Iron Liz denied the comic book part happened.
Should have spiked Kaylyn's drink too and made them think they'd had sex. He might have finally asked her out instead of being a pussy about it.

I think Penn Jillette said something similar where he says he knows he wouldn’t be able to indulge in vices in moderation.

Penn Jillette is at least likeable and good at what he does. He, and Teller, also appreciate their fans because they know that they'd be nowhere without them.

After every show, without fail, they will walk out into the lobby and sign autographs, pose for selfies and chat with their fans until they're all gone.

Lewis barely tolerates his fans and only does so because he needs their money to keep his hambeast of a wife happy with all the fast food he buys for her.

Also they have no problem explaining the tricks and making that part of the act, even working harder to get their timing right in a way that allows the audience to see exactly what's going on when they were being wowed earlier so that other people can try it themselves. The one that comes to mind was this bit that was just Teller smoking only to then be revealed that nope, it was all an elaborate sleight of hand to make you think nothing was going on. Lewis on the other hand needs everyone to know how special he is and that only he can do it, because no one else is better than him.

That's a classic but I always liked their "LIft off / Ripoff" one.

If Linkara was a magician, he'd be Cris Angel

Never seen that one, only saw a similar one where they do a cup and ball routine and then redo it with clear plastic cups to show how they did it. But yeah, that's a great one.

If Linkara was a magician he'd be this but unironically believe he was wowing the audience.

A pretty meh review to be honest.
I mean, that just kind of sums of all he does.
Even the angry hot takes were just things said a million times over.
He was a guy with some catch phrases who managed to hit on the right idea the right time (and even then it wasn't an original idea) to carve out a little bit of internet fame and make some money off it.

At best he manages to be meh because he never wants to push the envelope or say anything that goes against the established opinion.
He doesn't like the Clone Saga, what a brilliant opinion!

Brad, Doug, and several other TGWTG/CA crew all drank when Lewis was still associating with them, and I guarantee you they were drinking whenever filming wrapped for the day on the anniversary specials. He's definitely been around drunk people before. He's just a terrible, talentless hack of an actor.

He was on a call with Spoony when he got drunk and depressed over Twilight, which he absolutely watched the video of because he loves everything he's involved with. He could just redo that and get a more accurate representation of drunken melancholy. But he refuses to change because the great Linkara can never be wrong.

I doubt whether Lewis drank with them. He always seemed to be a loner in social situations. From what LordKat said about him during Kickassia, he seemed to resent anybody having fun that didn't involve him.

He likely didn't but the point is that him being sober while other people around him have been drunk, should mean he can grasp how drunk people actually act. Instead his version of "drunk" comes off like a 10 year old pretending to be drunk.
